Alonzo Has Copper Eyes

Picture That's Alonzo, the hero of Ever Locked. Alonzo Locke to be exact. I know. This guy has blue yes. Alonzo has copper eyes. But I purchased this Alonzo because my fourteen year old daughter proved to me that she can give this Zo copper eyes. So, there he is. I had a picture up of I think the same guy but he had a tattoo. Alonzo doesn't have one. He's really not the type. He's too outwardly focused to do something so personal and self focused as to get a tattoo. He's spent his entire life running from a diabolical father, raising his young brother, working and trying to get through college with his sites on a law school scholarship. He doesn't have the luxury to think about tattoos and his identity. He's about survival and protecting the people he loves with his life.

Ahhh! There. That's better. Well, for a vampire.

New Blog. NanoWriMo and Castle

Picture So. On the first day of NanoWriMo, I'm creating a new blog. Integrated. Yes. Apparently that's way better than an offsite blog host. Not sure why. But, I guess it does look better with the website. We'll see, won't we?

So. . . how's NaNo coming for you? For me, it's a bit of slow start. I think I'm going to start over. But I'm still counting the words I wrote after midnight last night, even though they may never make it into the manuscript. Keeping up with my word count will be so easy with Scrivener and I can delete scenes without deleting word counts. Very nice.

I think I'll begin my book with Castle's POV. She's gonna wake up in a strange place. Again. Trying to find love in all the wrong places in all the wrong ways. Castle's childhood was anything but happy. When her parents committed suicide, only days apart, she and her siblings were separated. Sent to live with different relatives. For some reason - we may not discover the reason in this novel - she was not allowed to see her sister for a year after the separation. The abandonment and rejection were tattooed on her heart. Abandoned and rejected. It's all she knew. And all she now knows how to do.
