Music, Art & Literary Festival
It's Sunday 10th April 2016 and yesterday I attended my first literary festival where I gave a talk about my writing journey, read a chapter of my book and finished up with a Q & A session and a book signing. It was very scary but went really well, far, far better than I feared.
The attendees asked some very interesting questions about my writing journey, where I got my inspiration, how I built my world, how I planned my book, and how I formed my characters.
I learned a lot in a short time, and everything I learned I will take with me to my next festival date: Saturday 21st May, Tavistock Festival, 10am-12pm at the library. Come along, get tea and coffee, enjoy having a chapter of The Cracked Amulet being read to you :)
Meanwhile, go ahead and ask me questions about my writing journey and/or my book The Cracked Amulet. I'd love to hear what you have to say

Featured in the News
So I've been featured in the Western Morning News' West Magazine. There's a link to read the article on the Plymouth Herald website:
http://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/Book-...
It has photos - please do not look at the photos - apart from the one showing just my hands writing, hahaha.
Managed to write a great deal on Book 2 of the Wefan Weaves, The Fractured Monolith, this week and I'm pleased with its progress.
It's been hard to find big blocks of time to really concentrate, what with promoting The Cracked Amulet and life in general these past weeks. I'm sure everyone out there has these very busy times in their lives too.

Photos for my Feature
So the photographer phones up and says: Can I come round Friday at 2-2.30, it'll only take an hour.
Three and a half hours later, she's still taking photos. We were outside, inside, standing, sitting, with and without various animals, and I was getting more and more awkward - being photographed is not my favourite occupation.
Emily was a lovely and very patient photographer and I'm sure her shots will be lovely.
All this was for a feature about me, as a local fantasy author and how I came to writing, that is to be published in the local west country of England newspaper the Western Morning News' magazine called West, on Saturday 15th March.

How to blog post
The simple answer to this is: not like me. I forgot I even had the option to blog on Goodreads.
But then, I have been busy. AS you all know my book was published in January and is available anywhere and everywhere in paperback and ebook.
I am amazed at how well The Cracked Amulet is selling and very proud. People must love epic fantasy full of adventure, mystery, thrill and just a smidgen of magic and love. I'm hard at work on book 2 - The Fractured Monolith, and am very pleased at how it's turning out.
I had a photo shoot yesterday for a feature about me that's coming out next week in The Western Morning News magazine West. Lovely photographer, Emily. She's been everywhere. Even Afghanistan and she's a dinky little thing - so brave. The supposed hour long session turned into three and a half hours. Good times. Here's to hoping I don't look too awful in the photos.
All the best

Blogging is bloody hard
Right well, here I am trying to drum up interest in my writing and feeling a total prat doing so. Do other bloggers feel this way?
Anyway, my book 'The Cracked Amulet' is out soon, I did originally have a version that I'd put up on Smashwords (you can see the cover on my author page), but when the editor-in-chief of Claret Press read my ms, they decided to give me a contract for a three book deal. I signed in the Spring.
Of course, they had all sorts of suggestions for making the story that much better and I thought they were right, so the version soon to be published is vastly superior to that some might have had the chance to read via Smashwords. Claret Press also wanted me to design the cover art and to draw the map, both of which they are using. So now I'm the artist too - doubly daunting.
The Cracked Amulet is with the designers now and as soon as I have a publish date I shall let you know.
To all my prospective readers
I wish you well and all the best
