Smartphones and the Undead
Serious question time readers.Would vampires be able to use smartphones?
The touch screens work by conducting electricity in your fingertips to know where you are touching and this works to reduce butt dialing. Would undead flesh still carry the necessary electrical charge to activate the sensors on the screen?
And can you imagine the horror?
Think of a beautiful, vain socialite who decides to become a vampire to achieve eternal youth. She goes through with it. In her glee on waking up the first night she goes to gloat online, only to discover that her smartphone won't respond to her touch!
Cue the screaming.

Trying My Hand at Videos
Cock sure, cocky, ect. There is just something confident about the male of Gallus gallus domesticus or the common barn yard rooster. Now the above is a hen, and they are pretty confident and aggressive themselves. But there is something about a rooster.

The Goat, the Wolf, the Chicken, and the Fences
You know the riddle. It is either a goat, a wolf, and a bale of hay or a cat, a chicken, and bag of grain. You have to get them across the river in a boat that only has room for yourself and one of them. The predator will eat the prey, the prey will eat the vegetation. Well that is pretty much what farm life is like. There are three functional holding areas. Dog number 2 cannot be put in with the chickens but can be put in with the goats. Dog number 3 cannot be put in with either the chickens or the goats. Dog number 1 can be put in with both chickens and goats but cannot be put in with dog number 2 who is currently fertile and is too young to breed. Dogs number 2 and 3 can be put together for short times only as they adjust to each other.
Confinement area number 1 has neither goats nor chickens but is not particularly sturdy so dogs number 1 and 2 cannot be placed there or they will destroy it. Confinement area 2 has goats but not chickens. Confinement area 3 has chickens from dawn to dusk and goats from dusk to dawn.

Chicken Scratch
When writing a list, a snippet of an idea, or a whole concept it is somewhat important to be able to come back and read it later. Take those few extra seconds to make your lines straight and your curves distinct.

A Battle of Wits
Having lost the intellectual battle this author's opponent has now resorted to begging but to no avail. Yes, the onset of a late February snow led to the limber six year old discovering a low (compromised by goats bent on destroying an apple tree) section of fencing and then discovering that he could leap over it. Thus followed a long battle of how to fix the fence that will be destroyed and rebuilt in a few months anyway so that the bugger couldn't get over, through, or around it. Victory has been achieved but it required a staff, a few dozen sticks, and a length of twine that may or may not have come from the muck in the chicken pen (yay for soap and sanitizer).
To quote a visitor:
"Oh! *chuckle* I see you have custom fencing too!"

Found a New Vendor
Yay! I found a vendor who is willing to carry my books during the Alien Daze Festival in McMinnville, OR this year. I will be at my booth (details to come) Friday the 19th, and Sunday the 21st.
Keep your eyes on the sky and watch out for flying saucers.
