21 Day Novel Challenge- Conclusions

Now that the challenge is finally over I’ve had a chance to sit back and digest the whole thing. I learned a lot in the process, and think I’ll be both a stronger and faster writer going forward.

21 Day Novel Challenge Day 21- I Did It

I won. I wrote and edited an entire novel in three weeks. Destroyer is just under 64,000 words. The book is one proofread away from being published, and will be live in the store by the 28th.

From here, I’ll be releasing 2 videos a week (at least for the next several weeks). On Wednesdays I’ll be sending out videos about outlining, and on Fridays I’ll be sending out videos about Launching to Market.

If there are more / other things you want to see, please let me know. Either way, thank you so much for riding shotgun on this challenge. It was brutal, and I’m not sure I could have done it without your support and encouragement.

Day 17. Wow. I cannot believe how close to done I am. Today’s video covers a lot. It talks about breaking down a chapter so you can re-write it.

I’m nearing the end of this whole process, and if I keep to my current pace I should be done with the novel by Saturday. It’s been a whirlwind, but man has it been worth it.

21 Day Novel Challenge Day 13- The Editing Begins

I always begin my editing with a read through of the first draft, as you’ll hear in the Day 13 Video. I also give a basic overview to the whole approach I’ll be using to edit Destroyer.

 

21 Day Novel Challenge Day 12- The First Draft is DONE

I finished the first draft for Destroyer, and have just sent it out to mailing list subscribers. No typos have been fixed. There are plot gaps, placeholder names, and all sorts of other fun problems.
