Oh lookit! Some Godzilla concept artwork!
I barely did anything on Gareth Edward's Godzilla if I'm honest - my mates Christian Pearce and Andrew Baker did the montsers's share (snicker) of the design at Weta Workshop for the big guy himself, but I did devote a few hours and did maybe half a dozen or more early concepts - most of which I've featured here, and are also in the amazing Godzilla: Art of Destruction book.

G-Tuned goodness
Just got a new pick-up for my old G-tuned guitar and it's transformed it!
I've had this gat for maybe 19 years and I bought it to replace one I stupidly smashed into pieces during a Nihil show in Hamilton . I took the pick-up from that poor smashed thing and put it into what was to become my permanently low tuned monster.
Turns out that pick-up was broken (duh) and never worked right.
I also never really knew about intonation and the fact that turning down to G means you should really move the b...

AGM Monsters
These poor little mutants were designs I did for two of Neill Blomkamp's sneaky short youtube clips.
The second one is based on a napkin sketch that Neill drew, so you can blame him for the giant slimy testebags. He's a strange man with strange whims.
The final sculpts were done by my mate and sculpting maestro, David Meng and produced in silicon, painted and hair-punched at Weta Workshop.

Taillefer - Les Sentinelles - French WW1 Comic hero
This is Taillefer from the French comic series Les Sentinelles.
While my Dr. Grordbort's Exhibtion was in Nantes a couple years back I met Julien Mokrani who's making a film adaptation of the comic and I did a quick interpretation for him of the main character.
Looks like it could be bloody epic, and anything that features robotic soldiers fighting World War One has my vote.

Umami Monster and MECHA-HOP designs, for Garage Project Beer
I love making art for beer - it's the perfect trade!
These are the designs I did for Garage Project for their two new, highly experimental beers, Umami Monster (brewed with sea weed, sea water and bonito flakes) and the beer designed to combat it, MECHA-HOP (brewed with refined hop oil, refined yeast and other industrialised ingredients).

Globzilla?
Gareth Edward's Godzilla is out now, and I'm proud to say I had a small part helping design him.
This, as you may note, is not Godzilla, nor a concept for him, but I post this idle scribble in the interim as I await approval to show actual concepts I did for the film.
Watching Godzilla made me want to dig out all the giant monster inspired pieces I've done over the years - made me think of doing a print of the Faction cover. Hmmm.... maybe I will...

Brian, our guitarist made this, although me and Christian whined and complained at him throughout the process, so we did contribute.
