Né à Agen en 1977, Philippe Ogaki a toujours rêvé devenir dessinateur de bande dessinée. Mais ne croyant pas son rêve possible, il s'oriente vers des études de design industriel, qu'il complète plus tard par un diplôme d'architecte d'intérieur à l'école Boulle. Il travaille d'abord pour le cinéma en tant que story-boarder et designer pour divers courts et moyens métrages, puis pendant plusieurs années dans le dessin animé sur de nombreuses séries. Cette période lui permet d'approfondir et de découvrir un grand nombre de techniques. Il travaille ensuite sur de longs métrages d'animation en images de synthèse, notamment Arthur, réalisé par Luc Besson.
