Blog book tour Day 6 – addendum
I really should put "additional" in the title up there. Every time I write one these book tour titles I hear William Shatner saying, "Captain's log, stardate 1422.6″.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know that the lovely Angel over at Wily Writers has fixed the audio file of Stand Off, so there's no longer the stuttering overlap for the first few seconds. If you've already downloaded it, you can click on the link you received in an email and download it again and you'll get a shiny new podcas
Blog book tour Day 6
Today's stop on the blog tour is a little delayed due to international time changes, but it's worth waiting for. I've been very excited about this one as it's something different for everyone, even if you're a regular reader here.
Those kind folks over at Wily Writers agreed to get involved with my book tour by reprinting my short story Stand Off, a yarn featuring Isiah, the protagonist from both RealmShift and MageSign. However, not only are they reprinting the story in text form, they've also r

Blog book tour Day 5
Today sees us at the halfway point of the book tour and so far it's all going swimmingly. Thanks to everyone that's been following along and those that are hosting me along the way. Some of the timing is a bit up and down, but that's what happens when you have posts hosted in Australia, then the US and now South Africa. Ah, the interwebz truly is a global party.
Before I announce today's post, I just wanted to point out something that may not have been very clear thus far. The early post of the t

Blog book tour Day 4
The blog tour rumbles ever onwards and today you can find me over at Publetariat.com. Publetariat is is an online community and news hub built specifically for indie authors and small, independent imprints. I'm a regular contributor over there myself and this time around site founder April Hamilton interviews me about why I chose to go indie, how I make it work, how I build my author platform and so on. This interview is something of a continuation or development of yesterday's interview at Bras
All you need to know about writing in 1,000 words
There are a lot of things like this out there, but this is one of the best, most succinct and well-written examples I've ever seen. I found it via Joanna Penn (you may remember her from Day 1 of the blog book tour) who passed on the link via Twitter (you can find Jo there under @thecreativepenn). The link was to Nathan Bransford's blog. Nathan Bransford is a literary agent for Curtis Brown. I've mentioned him before and I regularly follow his blog, but for some reason I missed this one.
Anyway, t

Blog book tour Day 3
Today I move on to the US and I'm kindly hosted by action adventure author (and good friend of mine) David Wood. David had me share a post with another author, Sean Ellis, and we both talk about what's involved in writing a good fight scene. Once again, feel free to share your thoughts in the comments over there and I'll check in regularly.

The movie meme
Sometimes I just can't be bothered with these things and other times they catch my interest. This one caught my eye over at BT's Musings Of An Aussie Writer blog. I thought I might drop it in here to break up the blog book tour a bit, especially as we're switching from Australian hosts to US hosts today, so there might be a gap of longer than 24 hours between book tour posts.
Here we go then:
1.Name a movie that you have seen more than 10 times.
There are a few, but the obvious one is Blade Runner,

Editor Unleashed Flash Fiction 40 Anthology now available
Back at the end of June I was very happy to annouce that my short story Parklife had won a place in the Editor Unleashed Flash Fiction 40 contest. You can read that post here. All the winning entries have been bought and published in an anthology, which is free and exclusively available through Smashwords.com. That anthology is now available, so get on over there and download yourself a copy. Along with my story there are 39 other great pieces of flash fiction, all under 1,000 words and all well

Blog Book Tour Day 2 – Interview at Brascoe
The blog book tour continues today with an interview at the Brascoe Publishing blog. Brascoe is an Australian indie publisher doing interesting things and they were kind enough to interview me about the process of self and indie publishing.

So it begins – Blog book tour Day 1
So after all this planning, let's hope this thing works out as it's supposed to. Day One of my virtual book tour has arrived and the first stop is the blog of Joanna Penn. Joanna's site is called The Creative Penn and is full of stuff all about writing, self-publishing, print-on-demand, internet sales and marketing for books. Her site is a wealth of useful information and she also produces the Author 2.0 program, which is a fantasic resource to help authors build an online platform from which to
