Hi, all you animal lovers!
This is pretty simple. The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily so they can meet their quota of getting FREE FOOD donated every day to abused and neglected animals. It takes less than a minute (about 15 seconds) to go to their site and click on the purple box 'fund food for animals for free'. This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in...

What Am I Reading for My 2010 New/Old Reading Challenge?
I regret to say that I was disappointed with Mary Stewart's
The Prince and the Pilgrim
. Her mix of legend and history just didn't mesh well for me, among other things that just didn't "click" for me personally. (Although it did stir up my interest in learning more about the Merovingian kings of the Franks.) All of which surprised me, because I remembered how much I had loved her Merlin Trilogy, especially
The Crystal Cave
. I loved the
Crystal Cave
so much that I read it at least twice between...

What Am I Reading for My 2010 New/Old Reading Challenge?
This one's been sitting in my TBR pile for altogether too long. It should be an "old read" by now, but instead it's my latest "new read" for my 2010 New/Old Reading Challenge:
The Prince and the Pilgrim
, by Mary Stewart (of
The Merlin Trilogy
fame).Back cover blurb:
ALEXANDER THE FATHERLESSEager, burning, and young, Alexander has come of age to take vengeance on the treacherous King of Cornwall who murdered his father. He sets off toward Camelot to seek justice from King Arthur, only to be...

Light Bulb Award
And my latest Light Bulb Award goes to...
Rachel Rager !
In response to a brainstorming plea to help me overcome a bump in my WIP a few months back, Rachel made a suggestion which I failed to see the significance of at the time. But the idea nestled in my mind, just waiting until the last few days to suddenly burst free and (hopefully) propel my plot forward in a whole new way. Naturally, I can't tell you what her suggestion was or how I plan to use it, because that would give too much away. :-...

Summary Sunday
Some writers I know write much faster than I do. Some writers I know write slower. Some writers I know write more hours a day than I do. Some writers I know write less. One thing I've learned. I cannot successfully complete a new book if I worry about comparing myself to others, therefore...I write the number of words a day that I write. I write the number of hours a week that I write. When my efforts feel so small that I sometimes wonder if it's worth it to continue, I take this verse as my...

What Am I Reading for My 2010 New/Old Reading Challenge?
My choice for my next "Old Favorite" read is
The Ogre Downstairs
, by Diana Wynne Jones. I can't remember how long ago I read this one...it's been that long!...but it's sitting on my keeper shelf, so I figure it's time to read it again and find out why!Back cover blurb:
Chemical Warfare?
Casper, Johnny, and Gwinny are sure they'll never be happy again when their mother marries Jack, who is as mean as an ogre. To make matters worse, two obnoxious stepbrothers, Malcolm and Douglas, move in as...
