123/366A shipment arrived at the Cardinals clubhouse if these baseballs bearing a special logo from opening night at Marlins Park. The balls used in the actual game, however, did not carry this stamp. (Taken with instagram)

122/366 Oh to be a kid with a birthday around the arrival of The Avengers in theaters. The haul awaiting the boy wonder when he woke up this morning for his sixth birthday. I was particularly happy with the Avengers super ball making up one of Hulk’s eyes there. (Taken with instagram)

120/366 Catching up from a wild week, and here’s the April 30 pic showing that it’s been almost a month since spring training and I’m still unpacking and re-organizing from the deluge of media guides, handbooks, and annuals. (Taken with instagram)

- After watching a Cardinals fan throw the ball back from a Pittsburgh Pirates’ home home run during Tuesday night’s game at Busch Stadium, this was the consensus of several of us in the press box.

121/366 My parents’ dog, Taffy. Had to drop by to spend time with her while my dad was at the hospital and my mom kept him company. This is Taffy checking out my mom’s reading spot to see if there is a familiar lap to curl up in. Eventually, she just sighed and laid down, waiting.

118/366 Found in the deep, deep recesses of my trunk this afternoon: a copy of this June 24, 2005 edition of The New York Times, preserved in its blue wrapper. The paper includes a review of “Bewitched,” the movie, and a New York Mets story discussing a tour of Philadelphia’s home to get ideas for the new Queens stadium the Mets were planning. The action photo is of Cliff Floyd. (Taken with instagram)

117/366 It’s not even May and already we forecasts are calling for a light sprinkling of chads at ballparks around the majors. Yes, All-Star ballots are out, and it’s time to vote for your favorites, because, heck, the season isn’t old enough to start calling players All-Stars just yet. All-Aprils maybe. Wrote a little bit about the oh-so-early All-Star Game ballots at my day job. (Taken with instagram)

116/366 Variant cover for Daredevil No. 11 drawn by Steffi Schutzee. One of my favorite artists is the master of the line Al Hirschfeld, who could make an ink pen swirl and dance and curl into such delightful and expressive drawings, and his clear influence on this cover makes it my favorite of the year, so far. 115/366 One of my favorite signs in sports — the dented, scratched, weathered sign with the running Cubbie chasing a foul ball. You’ll notice the sign below is new, not nearly as traditional, and boldly commercial. Just another marketing blemish on history. (Taken with instagram)
