ANOTHER JEWEL- Five Star Review

Bibles and Bones in the Forest. This book took off and was soon like a runaway train.

★★★★★

Verified Purchase Another jewel from Mrs. Reigada. As with all of her books I was hooked from the first page. This book took off and soon was like a runaway train. I especially liked the Bible study that was incorporated into story and brought more characters into the mix. The plot surprised me and kept me in suspense. I loved the description of the older house and its hidden passageways and the secrets it kept waiting to be discovered. This book will not disappoint. You would be wise to read all of her books. An accomplished author. I did not receive any compensation for this review.Check it out! https://www.amazon.com/Bibles-Bones-Forest-Flora-Reigada-ebook/dp/B0DFX39JD7/ref=sr_1_8?camp=1789&creative=93

BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT! A Book Is Born

Three Friends, Three Dreams, But One Dangerous Secret

Following a five-year labor of love, my inspirational thriller, Bibles and Bones in the Forest, was delivered to my publisher, MillerWords, LLC. However, that was "false labor"and glitches were found in the format. The "baby" needed more time for examination and adjustment. That process is almost complete and we will soon be giving away advance review copies to anyone who would consider writing an Amazon review. Please let me know if you are interested and thank you for your support. Here is a preview. https://florareigada.blogspot.com/.../coming-soon-bibles...

TWO GREAT REVIEWS!!

 4.0 out of 5

A very nice story that I recommend SueReviewed in the United States on June 14, 2024
Verified PurchaseA clean romantic novel that does not lead to bedroom exploits. So if you want a descriptive play by play sex book, this book is not for you. It's simply an enjoyable, clean romantic that I enjoyed very much.

It had only one flaw, the author did not do well in determining the start of new chapters here and there, but that was easy to overlook. As far as grammar and spelling goes, there were no issues, adding to my enjoyment.

I recommend this book to adults in their mid twenties and older, but think that it would be more enjoyable to those in their thirties and older, especially women who have struggled with a bad marriage. It would provide understanding and hope that things will turn out well for them.

Those who are familiar with St Augustine, FL would like it too, but that would certainly not be a prerequisite.
Inspiring! HopeReviewed in the United States on December 1, 2023Verified PurchaseI thoroughly enjoyed this story! Flora is an amazing storyteller! Drama, trauma, family, friendship and God are woven into a compelling story.

FREE READING SAMPLE, BIBLES AND BONES IN THE FOREST

CHAPTER 1

The stallion’s hooves pounded the frozenearth along a narrow path through New York State’s rugged forest.

Twenty-three-year-old Laura Murillo leanedforward in the saddle. “Faster, Champ, faster!”

Vapor poured from the horse’s nostrils, and despite below-freezing temperatures, sweat beaded on Laura’s forehead, mingling with the black curls escaping her helmet.

She thanked God that the former racingthoroughbred still had plenty of spirit. She prayed he wouldn’t spook and buck.

Laura heard the approaching ATV squeezingthrough snow-draped pine boughs hanging over the twisted path, then aresounding gunshot.

OhGod, let someone hear.

But Laura knew she had wandered too farinto the wilderness and that the dense forest muffled sound.

Her mind screamed. Why did I come back here again? Whatwas I thinking? I could pay for this with my life. Champ too.

Laura forced back her panicked thoughtswith characteristic determination etched into her attractive face. She knewevery inch of the forest; one of its old, hidden trails was a mile ahead. Eventhough Champ was in full gallop, they seemed to move in slow motion.

At last, they reached the trail, and Laurapulled on the rein, instructing him to turn. The heavy brush swallowed them asanother gunshot blasted. Laura held her breath as the ATV approached, crackingbranches and crunching snow before fading past them up the narrow path.

Still, danger wasclosing in, and she had to warn the others.

DANGEROUS ENCOUNTER

Liz's husband had left with another woman and Liz hoped to find peace in the beauty of the forest. Instead, danger was waiting.

Suddenly, a snapping twig shattered the stillness and a flock of birds launched into the sky, their chirping and flapping wings fading away. Then, a growl seemed to shake the ground beneath Liz.

She froze, almost afraid to breathe. Is this how it’s going to end for me?

Fear tingled up and down Liz’s spine as her eyes drifted to a clearing, where a black bear was sniffing

the air.

She saw two cubs, partly concealed by brush. Her heart pounded in her chest.

Steve’s warnings screamed across her mind. Bears have a keen sense of smell. If you see one, don’t try to run away. Back away slowly. Yell at the bear. Firmly tell it to leave. Get out of here! Especially beware of a mother bear with cubs.

Then, in one horrible moment, the bear charged in her direction. In a blind panic Liz also ran, forgetting everything Steve had told her. Though the episode lasted scarcely a minute, time seemed to move in slow motion.
