Fried Green Tomatoes
Fried Green Tomatoes Recipe
The husband made me fried green tomatoes. One of my absolute favorites!!
My family has made them my entire life (longer, even) and though they come in many variations.
The secret is slicing the tomatoes and soaking them in salted ice water for an hour before you start the cooking process. This gives them the best tangy taste.
Directions:
Soak in salty ice water for an hour
Dip in an mix of egg and milk
Dip in a dry mix of flour, salt, pepper
Repeat steps 2 and 3 to make sure they’re really coated
Fry. Oil needs to be hot. About 2 mins each side or until golden brown
Cool on paper towel

Pizza vs Books
Last week I talked about how I inserted my personal life into the latest Captured by a Dragon-shifter book—Mischievous Prince—when the opening scene was set in Oxford my new hometown.
Those who know me, know my fondness of food. I’m pretty much a wannabe foodie who doesn’t cook. And I have to admit there’s more of me in this story.
Heroine, Sadie, is a travel and food blogger, which brings me to another confession: I secretly want one of those shows where they pay me to travel around and eat. Of course, since I’m told I’m a little picky, I’d probably only be invited to pizza and hamburger joints. (I’m actually ok with this, LOL.)
It’s always funny to think of what you might have become if you took a different path. Maybe on some parallel plane there is a Michelle food blogger wishing she’d gone on to write that Dragon Lords romance floating around in her head. I really hope she finds her way to the portal like Sadie does.

Dragon Lords — 13 years and going strong
Thank you, Readers!
It started in 2004, and now over 10 years later you can read the original Dragon Lords in an anniversary edition. It’s hard to believe it’s been 13 years, and the series is still going strong.
I still remember writing Dragon Lords books 1-4 over same time period, all at once, in a writing frenzy–switching from book one to four to three to two, as I wrote consecutive timelines. I wanted the scenes to overlap, in a way so readers could see events from other points of view and learn new things as they read each book.
I couldn’t imagine the reader support this series would receive, being a newly published writer alone at her computer. Back then, no one I knew was doing dragonshifters, let alone futuristic ones set in space. Now, they’re all over the place, but back then I worried no one would want them or care, and that the publisher would think I was crazy. I am so glad those fears were unfounded.
Now, there are 7 spin off series (more to come) with a total of 30 books (31 with the preorder now up). They’ve been on more bestseller lists than I can count. They’ve been nominated/given awards.
It is truly humbling to still open so many emails about the Dragon Lords series world, asking for more books, for more spin off series, for directions to the protals to get to the planet

The next installment of Captured by a Dragon-Shifter (A Dragon Lord Romance), “Mischievous Prince,” is well under way. And to celebrate my new home town, Oxford, the opening scene in the book is set in and around the Oxford Square. In fact, the portal through which Finn the Draig Prince and Ivar the Cat Shifter Prince access Earth is in Faulkner Alley. It’s always nice to be able to insert life into the work, it’s definitely one of the simpler pleasures of writing I get to enjoy.
