Visionnage : La faute à Rousseau

France Channel (read my review) is offering a free screening of the first episode of La faute à Rousseau, the perfect comedy-drama to start the new school year. It's available on Vimeo this weekend (2 + 3 September) to give you a taste of the series.
Synopsis: Benjamin Rousseau is an atypical high school teacher, exploring philosophical themes relevant to his terminale students' lives to help them learn and grow. But his own life is a complete mess - he lives with his mother, is divorced, and struggles to bond with his own son.
Content advisory: Adult themes, language. Terminale is the third and final year of lycée, students are 17-18.

Conditional Perfect, Second Form
The second form of the conditional perfect suffers from something of an identity crisis: it looks like the pluperfect subjunctive but has the value of the conditional perfect. The second form of the past conditional is used mostly in si clauses and is a literary tense, so is found only in very formal written French.
