R’jaal’s Resonance

R’jaal has waited many turns of the seasons for his khui to resonate, only to be disappointed time and time again. But when he is taken captive by strange beings hiding in the very tunnels of the fruit caves, he wakes up to find himself in a strange underground cage.

Also in the cage? A very pretty unfamiliar human female. She says her name is Rosalind. She makes his khui sing.

It’s finally his time.

There’s a big problem, though — Rosalind has no khui of her own. And if she doesn’t get one soon, she could die.

When She’s Merry

Homesteading on the remote farm planet Risda III can be lonely. So when I notice that my neighbor isn’t doing so well, I ask for help to give her a Christmas celebration to brighten her spirits.

Unfortunately, the person helping me is Sinath, the most infuriating male alien ever. He’s got a weird sense of humor. He doesn’t know what a Christmas tree is. He even tried to exterminate my pet rodent.

And he keeps staring at my mouth and yet refuses to kiss me. The nerve.

But Sinath is easy to be around, corny jokes and all. He knows just what my friend is going through. And he’s a surprisingly good snuggler.

This is either going to be a complete disaster…or the merriest holiday ever.

When She’s Pregnant

Naomi has spent her entire profits from her farm’s yield for a fertility shot. She wants a baby to ease some of the loneliness of life at the edge of the universe. Unfortunately for her, the donor she had lined up can’t finish the job. What’s a lonely, ovulating human to do?

This one heads to the Port Custodial office and asks for help from the military custodian on duty.

Brawny but awkward Ainar isn’t sure why this human is insisting on needing his help for sleeping, but he’s happy to assist someone as delicate and pretty as the human colonist. And when he figures out what she really wants…well.

Surely this is a dream come true.

This novella is stand-alone, high-heat and low-angst, which means it’s pretty much awesome. You do not have to read other Risdaverse novellas in order to read this one (though characters from other stories will drop in).

Flor’s Fiasco

I’m not supposed to resonate to him.

It’s been a few years since I’ve landed here on Icehome Beach, and as resonance after resonance dwindled the list of bachelors, I knew who I’d end up with. As soon as we got past our differences, I’d end up as R’jaal’s mate.

On an everyday excursion, however, my khui decides otherwise. It sings all right…but not to R’jaal. Instead, I resonate to I’rec – the forceful, brash, overly-alpha leader of Shadow Cat. Did I mention he’s got a long-distance girlfriend already?

It’s a big mess, and it’s about to get messier.

But as things get chaotic on the beach and our way of life is threatened with upheaval, it’s the small things that end up mattering. Small things like the way I’rec kisses. Or the way we seem to have a lot more in common than we thought. Or the way I’rec can be gentle, but only with me…

Corsairs: Mathiras

Someone is illegally stealing humans from their home world and cloning them.

For months, we’ve been hunting this ring of criminals and the end is in sight. I’m separating from my brothers and taking my ship to track down the bad guys.

One small problem — Helen insists upon joining me on this dangerous mission.

Helen herself is a clone, created to be an object of beauty. She’s not safe if she goes with me, as her kind are coveted all across the universe. But she’s not interested in staying safe. She’s interested in staying at my side…and tempting me to kiss her.

And kef me, is it ever a temptation.

Am I really going to run headlong into danger with the universe’s most beguiling female at my side? Am I going to be able to resist her charms?

(I think we all know the answers to those questions.)

Daisy’s Decision

I fear I’ve made a mistake.

I left a pampered life and a loveless relationship to live on an icy, primeval world, all for the promise of a soulmate and children. But three years have passed, and my hopes and dreams have become dashed. I haven’t resonated. Without resonance, there will be no children for me, and no loving mate.

So I keep waiting, and waiting…

But then I come up with a brilliant plan to get me everything I want. And my plan needs a volunteer, one that would be happy to be my mate in all ways. Luckily, I know just who to approach…

When She’s Lonely

Everyone says humans are safe on Risda III.

Yeah, right.

I was taken from Earth years ago and I’ve learned one thing – a flawed human is a dead human. So I keep my flaws to myself, and I focus on running my farm.

At least, I try to. But when I (accidentally) burn the barn down, one of the local officials shows up to help me put it out. And when Khex learns my secrets, he decides that he’ll keep them…

If I’ll go out on a date with him.

Oh, this is going to end badly.

The Half-Orc’s Maiden Bride

Lady Iolanthe of Rockmourn Keep expects to be a spinster all her days. She is very tall. She is very poor. And she is thirty. What lord could possibly want her?

But then her father returns with news that he has found a bridegroom for her – one that is impressively tall. One that is strong, and bold, and wealthy. And best of all? He wants Iolanthe. It seems too good to be true.

And when Iolanthe gets her first look at her husband-to-be, she realizes why.

No one mentioned the ‘orc’ part of things…

Dark Fire

Azar has taken over Fort Dallas. He rules with complete authority, and everyone bows down to him.

Everyone except one woman. Melina, the fort’s medic. No matter what he offers, she refuses to give in. A good man would know to stop asking. Unfortunately for Melina, Azar is not a good man.

Wed to the Wild God

When I find a gorgeous stranger in an alley, covered in blood, you’d think the logical thing would be to go to the authorities.

Not me. I take him home.

I’ve got my reasons, though. See, Kassam is cursed with hedonism. He’s a god from another world, accidentally stuck in ours. Anyone (and everyone) around him falls under his spell. It’s impossible to resist. Like scratching an itch. And being around Kassam? Boy, do I itch.

But trying to send the god home to his world is a near-impossible task. Between everyone we meet trying to kiss him and the gods of this world trying to get rid of him, I’m in over my head. There’s only one solution that will keep me safe — marry him. Being the wife of a god will protect me from immortal machinations.

Now, I just need to figure out a way to protect my heart from Kassam himself.
