F100 For Sale, Colorado Springs

This F100 was at a garage in Colorado Springs. The owner lives in Fort Collins. The guy I spoke to at the garage said he understands it's the 460 engine. Everything works. The garage has changed the plugs, wires, fluids, etc. It apparently runs well. Looked very clean to me; a couple of tiny specks of rust, but nothing underneath. Seems a very original truck. Maybe a 1977? I'd probably lose the cap, because I don't like the way they look. And I'd get slightly bigger tires. No whitewalls. But it looks a very clean and well-cared-for original. Interior looked good. The sign on the dash says '$2500 obo'. Sounds like possibly a deal, if you're ready to adopt an old truck. If you're interested in learning about shipping, the people I would recommend, strongly, are www.safewayautotransport.com They moved a truck for me from West Texas to Downeast Maine, and did exactly what they promised, for exactly the price they promised. They own their trucks, and the drivers are their employees, so you're not getting shifted around from freight terminal to freight terminal.

Sea Salt: David Mason

SEA SALT  Light dazzles from the grassover the carnal dune. This too shall come to pass, but will it happen soon?A kite nods to its string.A cloud is happening
above the tripping waves, joined by another cloud. They are a crowd that moves. The sky becomes a shroudcut by a blade of sun. There’s nothing to be done.
The soul, if there’s a soulmoves out to what it loves, whatever makes it whole. The sea stands still and moves, denoting nothing new, deliberating now.
The days are made of hours, hours of instances, and none of them are ours. The sand blows through the fences.Light darkens on the grass. This too shall come to pass.                                                       -David Mason                         "End of summer: Wassenar NL"                Basha Burwell©2012

Peter Behrens House, Darmstadt

Patrick Drotos,  a classmate at Notre Dame de Sion (kindergarden), St Kevin's School (elementary) and Lower Canada College (prep school) lives in Darmstadt, Germany. He forwarded these pictures of the Peter Behrens house at Darmstadt. PB was the great modernist, a pioneer of industrial design and modern architecture. I believe that Walter Gropius and Mies van de Rohe were among his students.

"My house is not this old, and not this posh. But it did survive WWII, with a reinforced ferrosteel bombshelter and gas tight steel doors worthy of a U-Boot. That is where I keep my wine. No chance of breakage down there."--PD
