My Self-Published Bestselling Book Hits Number 60 on the Amazon Non-Fiction Chart for All Books
The Killing of Osama Bin Laden, a book I furiously wrote in 4 days and self-published on Amazon through my own publishing imprint, Glenneyre Press, pulled a full-frontal assault on Amazon's Bestselling Non-fiction book chart. Not just Kindle books, ALL non-fic on Amazon. I wrote earlier how my book hit #78 on the best-seller list. I mentioned on Facebook how the book had continued rising to #63 where I was outselling books by bestselling superstars like John Grisham, Jon Krakauer and David Mamet. Then, in between innings at my son's T-ball game, I checked the list on my phone and BAM… my book had jumped up to number 60!
Saturday, I also mentioned about how I was outselling Donald Rumsfeld in the Amazon category of Middle East History.
And that's not even the coolest part… because of my Bin Laden book, an entertainment company CEO contacted me and offered me a gig to write a brand-new comic book series! Since I have no lit agent or manager, I closed the deal myself (got what I thought was a pretty good deal). Monday, I'm off and running writing something I think will turn some heads.
And what I'd like to think is that in these exciting times, it's beyond obvious you don't need a mainstream publisher to do cool stuff in the literary world. You can build your brand, open doors and generate revenue if you're savvy enough. Fortune favors the bold.
And even though I've had a lot of luck with a couple of my other self-published books, "Where's My F*cking Latte?" (stories about what it's like to be a hollywood assistant) and "Go Forth and Kick Some Ass" (a book to help you get motivated), both of which are still on their respective Amazon sub-category bestseller charts, what has happened so far with this crazy Bin Laden book has been the sweetest win so far. You could possibly argue that being on a sub-category bestselling chart doesn't count, even though "Latte's" been on the ones for "Television" for about 2 years… but hitting the overall non-fiction top 100 feels real. I am a Bestselling Author… and you can never take that away from me, baby.

#78 on Amazon's Non-Fiction Bestseller's List
WOW… The Killing of Osama Bin Laden is currently #78 on all of Amazon in the non-fiction category.
Again, all without a mainstream publisher or even an agent.

Kicking Ass on the Amazon Bestseller Charts
The Killing of Osama Bin Laden is a #1 Kindle bestseller in the category of Middle East History! And, even cooler, the #2 bestselling book on ALL of Amazon (Kindle and dead tree books) in the category of Middle East History!
It's also #55 in the overall "History" category for all books and #19 for just Kindle books.
Also #5 in the Kindle's "Military History" category.
This I love, I'm outselling Donald Rumsfeld's book in the category of Middle East History. Hah!
Plus, writing the Bin Laden book just got me a book deal… more details on that soon, I promise.
And if that isn't cool enough…
WHERE'S MY F*CKING LATTE? after a couple of years is still rocking the charts in it's categories. #4 Kindle book in Television and #19 in all books about Television.
And GO FORTH AND KICK SOME ASS is rocking the category of books on Creativity
That's right 3 Bestsellers on the charts… and all without an agent or mainstream publisher. It can be done!

Read the Bin Laden Death Book Full of Inside Details
"If you are looking for a highly informative and thrilling rendition of how the man Hunt for Osama bin Laden unfolded, definitely look no further than this one…" Steven Samblis, ICPLaces.com
Read the first book about the death of Osama Bin Laden! Includes details about "stealth helicopters", the courier, how SEAL Team Six trained for the mission and what the CIA did to find Osama Bin Laden using old-fashioned detective work!
"The Killing of Osama Bin Laden" is a concise and detail-rich telling of the historic manhunt for the world's number one most-wanted terrorist.
The courier was the key. A mid-level al-Qaeda operative who played a small part in the planning of the 9/11 attacks and was with Bin Laden when he escaped the battle of Tora Bora. Find out who the courier was, and how with one phone call, he eventually led the CIA to Bin Laden's fortress-like mansion in the affluent suburbs of Abbottabad, Pakistan. Years after the trail had gone cold, Osama Bin Laden, was once again within our sights. Finally the largest manhunt in U.S. counterterrorism history was headed to its singular and bloody conclusion if only the President and his team could figure out how to get him before he vanished once again.
The gut punch Osama Bin Laden landed on 9/11 still stings. What he took from country on that terrible day can never be replaced, nor can the lives of the thousands of innocent men, women and children murdered in the name of some crusade. And even though it will still be a long time until we Americans fully heal from the pain of the worst terrorist attacks on our soil, we can rest assured that the man who became the epitome of evil in the modern world will never do this again.
This commemorative ebook edition of the events that led to Bin Laden's death includes details about the courier whose phone call doomed the al-Qaeda leader and the detective work that led the CIA to the front door of his fortress-like mansion compound in an affluent neighborhood of suburban Pakistan.

PRAISE FOR THIS BOOK:
…because THE KILLING OF OSAMA BIN LADEN contains certain details about the courier, the way SEAL Team Six trained for their black bag mission, along with what seems to me like "classified" intel on what modifications were made to the Black Hawk helicopters to make them "stealth", this book reads like it was written by someone with a fairly high security clearance. I am no expert of CIA intelligence operations but I have to believe that either Mark Yoshimoto Nemcoff is one heck of a researcher or he is getting his information from sources inside the government or the U.S. Military. I would bet there will be phones ringing at the Pentagon or inside the Beltway once word of this book gets out.
- ICPlaces.com
My pulse is racing… Mr. Nemcoff weaves a story so real it feels as though you are part of the inner circle who was there with the President.
- Tony Carcieri, Amazon reviewer
This might as well have been the actual first person account of the hunting down and subsequent killing of the Nation's, nay World's, Public Enemy #1. Mark Yoshimoto-Nemcoff's has a very detail oriented and compelling view as to how the final solution went down. It's an excellent read. You will not be able to push the "next page" button fast enough.

Amazing Review of The Killing of Osama Bin Laden
It's only been about a day but so far, a couple of nice media mentions for THE KILLING OF OSAMA BIN LADEN (How the Mission to Hunt Down a Terrorist Mastermind was Accomplished) that I wanted to point out and give some link love to:
First up: A glowing book review of "The Killing of Osama Bin Laden" from ICPlaces.com. Here's an excerpt:
…because THE KILLING OF OSAMA BIN LADEN contains certain details about the courier, the way SEAL Team Six trained for their black bag mission, along with what seems to me like "classified" intel on what modifications were made to the Black Hawk helicopters to make them "stealth", this book reads like it was written by someone with a fairly high security clearance. C'mon… how awesome is that?
Second: a nice quick little (and I do mean quick and little) mention of my new book from the folks at ebooknewser.
Nice to see that this book is hitting the radar a tiny bit. Yesterday, in it's first 24 hours it hit 3 different Kindle subcategory bestseller lists. Including #5 overall on Amazon about books on History of Pakistan (which may be a topic that doesn't have too many books) but even cooler, #54 overall on the history of the Middle East, which I have to believe is a pretty hot topic right now…. W00t!

Yes, it's a short book, but it's filled with lots of little details about "stealth helicopters", the courier, how SEAL Team Six trained for the mission and what the CIA did to find Osama Bin Laden using old-fashioned detective work!

Note: There was a bit of a glitch with the original release–the pre-release proofing copy was uploaded by accident… D'oh!– and unfortunately I wasn't able to pull it from Amazon before a bunch of copies were sold, (Double D'oh!) so if you bought one of the first day copies of the book and you'd like a replacement, just email me a copy of your receipt and I'll hook you up with an updated copy… My bad on this one… oh, the joys of being a one-man-band…

Is This The First Book About the Death of Osama Bin Laden?
THE KILLING OF OSAMA BIN LADEN (How the Mission to Hunt Down a Terrorist Mastermind was Accomplished)… Call me crazy but I think I may be putting out the very first book about the manhunt to capture Osama Bin Laden and the mission that resulted in his assassination. Ever since the surprise announcement by Barack Obama this past Sunday, I've been completely obsessed with this amazing story. So much so that I felt I had to write a book about this very historic covert military mission and what could be the defining moment of Obama's Presidency.
It's been uploaded to Amazon's Kindle store and Barnes and Noble's Nook store, so it should be up in both locations tomorrow. I've also uploaded it to Apple's iTunes iBookstore, but they usually take a couple of weeks or more to make new books available for purchase. Of course, I'll post links once the book is live.

The MYN App updated for iPhone, TILTW and More!
The newly-updated MYN app for iPhone (version 3.0) is now out and has all kinds of wicked cool social media features built in so you can post to Facebook and Twitter and email posts from inside the app. I'd like to tell you it has dolphins with frickin' lasers on their heads but alas… maybe version 4.0. So update your shit to get it or for god's sake, just install the app to your iPhone/Touch/iPad.
So for the 6 of you listening to my sporadic Wordsushi podcast, you may have heard me mention a TV series… well, this morning I agreed, in principle, to the terms that would bring back THINGS I LEARNED THIS WEEK as a half hour TV show. That's right, bitches… TILTW: the TV series! My little internet video show that had it's own little cult following and got me the hosting gig on The MoShow, has spawned another TV opportunity for yours truly. We still have to do all the paperwork, iron out the deal, etc… which, of course, is one of the trickier parts of the whole process and the part most likely where things could grind to a screeching halt… so it's not final yet but with a bit of luck we could have all of this biz stuff wrapped up in a few weeks and be in production by late June. The new TILTW will incorporate all the snarkiness of the web series plus some stuff that could even be described as "PCH-esque". That's all I can divulge at the moment but as I always say… stay tuned…
If you haven't read it already, please check out this really cool article from C.C. Chapman entitled: 3 Dangerous Books to Help You Be Awesome. CC's always on top of the latest books on improving your game and it's an honor to have Go Forth and Kick Some Ass share the page with the latest from top gurus Seth Godin and Hugh McLeod. I can tell you that CC's recommendation carries a lot of weight because within hours of him posting it, Go Forth was back up on 3 Kindle bestseller lists for books on Creativity. Thanks CC!
Speaking of Bestselling Kindle books. I read a lot of Kindle books on the go and I'm always looking for recommendations and ideas of what's hot in the world of eBooks. But it was always a pain in the ass checking the Kindle top 10 charts from my iPhone so I decided to take matters into my own hands and created an app called TOP eBOOKS that lets you use your smartphone to bring up the top 10 Kindle eBooks from Amazon and the NYT Bestseller lists in Fiction, Non-Fiction, etc.
Right now you can get the Top eBooks Android App at the Android Marketplace and I've submitted it to the iTunes App Store and will post here when it becomes available for iOS.
Much, much more going on… Lots of exciting stuff… new books coming soon but I gotta run for now. I promise we'll talk again soon!
M
