FATAL SUNSET – now available for Kindle and Nook!

No one ever believes their dream vacation can instantly turn into a tragic nightmare…until it’s too late.

Some tourists vanish without a trace. Over 170 people have disappeared from cruise ships around the world since 1995, several under very suspicious circumstances. Others have their lives senselessly stolen, like the 8-year old boy sucked into an unprotected pool drain at a major resort, leaving his mother crying out his name as security staff held her at gunpoint. Or 22-year old Nolan Webster, denied proper medical care after being pulled unconscious from a Cancun resort pool, only to have his dead body left in plain view for hours and his parents billed for his room.

Updated FATAL SUNSET cover art

Here's the full paperback cover for FATAL SUNSET (back, spine, updated front) and no, not actual size… I liked the way the new front cover came out so I'm going to use it for the ebook releases as well. I'm starting to think the more square-ish ebook cover size just doesn't look quite as appealing as the more traditional thinner and rectangular cover.

FATAL SUNSET comes out on April 17th for the Kindle, Nook, iBooks and in paperback! Keep an eye out here for ordering links and information as we get closer to the official release date. I'm hoping to have a pre-order thingy set up over at the iBookstore for those of you who prefer your ebooks in Apple flavor.

And yes, I designed the cover and took the cover photos…

The Mad Men 1960s – An American Selling America to Bangladesh – Dacca Daze

You watch Mad Men and you think, 'gee whiz, America sure was different back then…' Well, imagine what it was like to be an American posted overseas in Bangladesh (then, East Pakistan) surrounded by a world that in many ways hadn't changed much in a century? Imagine being part of the fragile diplomatic enterprise of trying to boost America's image during the Cold War. Imagine meeting Jackie O, the First Lady?

Truth is, you don't have to imagine. Fifty years ago, it was a different world, and in Dacca (now "Dhaka") it was a world as foreign to my father as the dark side of the moon. DACCA DAZE, his bestselling book of anecdotes from his time as a USIS diplomatic officer Bangladesh, paint a detailed picture of what life was like in this part of the world at this time in history.
