In debt and needing to repair his fortunes, he accepts a dangerous commission from the Dey of the Sallee Republic to hunt pirates—Muslim pirates—disloyal to the country that gives them refuge. Publisher: Lissa Kasey; 2 edition (March 3, 2015)
Amazon Kindle: Inheritance, Dominion Book 1

Seiran Rou's life is complicated—he's the only male in the world allowed to take magic classes in a female-dominant society, his vampire boyfriend, Gabe, is hinting that he wants more, and his mother is demanding a grandchild. But when a co-worker turns up dead on his doorstep, Seiran realizes his problems are only beginning.

With the police dogging his steps, a stalker-like bartender watching his every move, and a magic groupie following him around, Seiran is finding it hard to hide his power—a power that if revealed could get him killed. The Dominion, the ruling body of elemental magic, seems to have started a deadly game to control the rare magic he possesses.

Someone is pulling strings, murdering witches, and gathering power. When Seiran finds himself next on the hit list, he doesn’t know whether to run and hide or prove himself to be the powerful witch he is. If he stands up and fights, he’ll have to decide what is more important—hiding his power or protecting the ones he loves.

Book Blast: A New Man by PD Singer

A New Man by P.D. Singer
Publisher: Dreamspinner Press; 1 edition (February 9, 2015)
Amazon Kindle: A New Man

Senior year of college is for studying, partying, and having fun before getting serious about life. Instead, Chad’s days are filled with headaches and exhaustion, and his fencing skills are getting worse with practice, not better. Then there’s his nonexistent love life, full of girls he’s shunted to the friend zone. Is he asexual? Gay?

Grad student Warren Douglas could be out clubbing, but his roommate is better company, even without kisses. He’s torn up watching Chad suffer, gobbling ibuprofen and coming home early on Friday nights. If Chad weren’t straight, Warren would keep him up past midnight. They’re great as friends. Benefits might answer Chad’s questions.

A brief encounter with lab rats reveals Chad’s illness—he needs surgery, STAT, and can’t rely on his dysfunctional parents for medical decisions. Warren’s both trustworthy and likely to get overruled—unless they’re married. “You can throw me back later,” Warren says, and he may throw himself back after his husband turns out moody and hard to get along with, no matter how much fun his new sex drive is. Surgery turns Chad into a new man, all right…

…but Warren fell in love with the old one.

Author Bio: P.D. Singer lives in Colorado with her slightly bemused husband, two rowdy teenage boys, and thirty pounds of cats. She's a big believer in research, first-hand if possible, so the reader can be quite certain Pam has skied down a mountain face-first, been stepped on by rodeo horses, acquired a potato burn or two, and will never, ever, write a novel that includes sky-diving.

When not writing, playing her fiddle, or skiing, she can be found with a book in hand.

Most memorable moment as an author?
Getting a second rejection letter from a publisher on the same novel. I knew that was the last of the chances for that book with that house, and I wasn’t quite up to snuff yet. That was very humbling, and very instructive, and probably the best thing anyone ever did for my writing. It hurt like hell at the time. The book, after much more work, went on to be rather popular.

How do you deal with interruptions from family and friends – how do you find the balance and mark the space you need?
I’m the early riser in a household of late sleepers, which takes care of much of the problem. I also make creative use of voice mail.

Cover Reveal: True Brit by Con Riley

True Brit by Con Riley
Publisher: Figment Ink Ltd. (February 18, 2015)
Amazon Kindle: True Brit

Winning the United Kingdom’s favorite singing contest is a challenge for half-Afghani Pasha Trueman. He doesn’t have the best voice, but success would be life-changing. His strategy is simple—he’ll make the British public love him.

Ex-soldier Ed Britten has a different agenda. Winning means he’ll keep a promise made after a deadly Afghan ambush. His voice is his weapon, but he leaves his heart unguarded.

Ed and Pasha’s discovery that the contest isn’t a fair fight calls for creative tactics. Staging a fake love story could bring victory, only there’s more at stake than the prestigious first prize. If winning means surrendering each other, they could both end up losing.

[image error]Author Bio: Con Riley lives on the wild and rugged Devonshire coast, with her head in the clouds, and her feet in the Atlantic Ocean.
Injury curtailed her enjoyment of outdoor pursuits, so writing fiction now fills her free time. Love, loss, and redemption shape her romance stories, and her characters are flawed in ways that makes them live and breathe.
When not people watching, or wrangling her own boy band of teen sons, she spends time staring at the sea from her kitchen window. If you see her, don't disturb her—she’s probably thinking up new plots.

Her parents form a perfect triangle: Mom, Dad, and her mother’s lover—who also happens to be her Dad’s twin sister. Although each of Bean’s parents now lives alone, the animosity between the twins makes dealing with either of them like tiptoeing between landmines. But the more Bean finds out about her parents’ complicated history, the more she realizes how little she knows.

Blog Tour: The Next Call by Sue Brown

[image error]When I submitted this story I knew I was taking a risk. The Next Call is not your conventional boy meets boy love story. Nothing about it is conventional. I’m just lucky that Dreamspinner are prepared to take chances with me and I appreciate it very much.
Have you ever volunteered for anything? I have for short periods of time for various organisations (a hospice, brownies, church etc), but real life has always overtaken me and I’ve ended up having to give up the volunteer work after a couple of years and deal with life work.
I really admire people who’ve stayed with organisations for years. For some people, the volunteer work becomes their life and their colleagues become part of their family. In The Next Call Mark went from a user of the service to a long-term volunteer, to give back what he had received at a vulnerable time.
I’ve promised myself when life reduces a few stages down from crisis management I shall look for volunteer work again.
On the blog tour I want to highlight the amazing work LGBT helplines and charities do for people who really need them. I’ve focused on the UK because that is where I live. Please take the time to look at their sites.
Brighton and Hove LGBT switchboard is forty years old this year. Their services include a helpline and counselling.

The Next Call by Sue Brown
Publisher: Dreamspinner Press; 1 edition (February 4, 2015)
Amazon Kindle: The Next Call

Mark Grayson volunteers for an LGBT helpline, the same one that helped him through his teenage years. One day he takes a call from “Ricky,” a suicidal man being forced into a marriage he doesn't want. For weeks Mark talks to Ricky and provides support, but he’s frustrated by the lack of information Ricky provides and the decisions he’s making. In the meantime, Mark starts a relationship with another volunteer. Then tragedy strikes and Mark takes time away from the helpline, but when he comes back, Ricky is waiting. Mark realizes Ricky is stronger than before and their relationship changes, but Mark isn’t sure what their future holds if their relationship is destined to be at the end of the phone.

VELVET RODEO by Kelly McQuain is the recent winner of the Bloom Chapbook Prize, judged by poet C. These poems understand that to tell the truth, one must lie, play tricks, and even dare to say the unbelievable. Careful and exacting, these poems exact a price from a reader. They linger with you long after you have finished reading them.”
