Ten women, guests at the lesbian-owned Adelheid Inn, are stranded in the Cascade Mountains after a mudslide closes the only road out. One goes missing. One is killed. More than one is not who she pretends to be, and every one of them has a secret. When another woman is attacked, it becomes clear there's a killer in their midst, and it has to be one of them. Is it Beatrice, the judge, surly and sad after the death of her long-term partner? Or her niece, Tish, angry and sullen at being kept under Beatrice's thumb? Or is it Carmen, Beatrice's childhood friend who lured her to the Inn under false pretenses? It couldn't be the Mormon girls, Amy and Dakota. Or could it? Perhaps it's Paula, the gallant butch, or her date, the lovely and silent Veronica. A blind woman couldn't do it, but is Jess really blind? And what about Holly, the hotel manager who is just a bit too perky, or Lila, the mysterious owner of the hotel? One thing quickly becomes clear. They'd better find out, before there are none.

2015 GRL Featured Blog Tour: Jaime Samms

Starting from June 1, 2015, I will daily feature authors attending the three conventions I will join, Euro Pride in Munich (July), UK Meet in Bristol (September) and GRL in San Diego (October). Moreover I'm taking part at the 2015 GRL Featured Blog Tour as Featured Blogger.

For the 2015 Featured Blog Tour, today author is Jaime Samms:

People always say writing is a lonely activity. A solo one. And to some degree, that’s true. No one else is going to write my words down if I don’t do it. But from concept to finished product, a lot of people end up influencing what I do.

Maybe they inspired the book with just the right picture. (Mary. Michelle. I’m looking at you.) Or offered a much needed sounding board when I hit a problem spot in the plot. So may other writers have filled this need for me over the years.
Even non-writers who knew more about my subject matter were invaluable to me in getting details just right. Not to mention editors, cover artists, productions teams. It really does, in the end, take a village to anything truly worthwhile.

That’s sort of what a convention like GRL is all about. It brings that far-flung village of ours under one roof for a few days. Because let’s face it. Without readers, no book can truly meet its full potential.
Meeting readers is an amazing opportunity. I never really get tired of talking about “my guys”, even the ones long nestled between the covers of their books after I’ve moved on as a writer. It’s fascinating to meet and talk to a reader who saw one of my characters in a completely different light than I had first imagined him.
It’s always with mixed emotions I approach this con. I’ll be honest. I’m not a social girl. At the heart of me, I like my fictional characters, my keyboard, and my coloured pencils. It’s a feat for me to fly hundreds of miles to meet people who have only ever been names on a screen. But that’s the thing, right? Your names belong to real, breathing members of my village. In the end, despite my wailing and wringing of nervous hands, I never regret going because we are all there for the same reason. We love what we do and what we read.

Patchwork Heaven by Jaime Samms
Paperback: 344 pages
Publisher: Dreamspinner Press (September 26, 2014)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 163216406X
ISBN-13: 978-1632164063

Amazon Kindle: Patchwork Heaven

Singer Coby Kennedy and his drummer twin, Bruce, have a band called Patchwork Heaven. They have been rising steadily up the country music charts, but unfortunately, that rise has attracted unwanted attention. Faced with anonymous letters, sinister gifts, and the wanton destruction of their personal space, they hire The Detail, a specialized security firm. Coby never anticipated Gregor, The Detail's owner and his personal guard, would be quite so intriguing.

As the stalker gets closer and more violent and questions pile up, Gregor fears his past might get in the way of him finding who is threatening his client when he becomes suspect number one. Even though Coby is convinced Gregor is not behind the threat, Gregor is not sure he's the right man to keep Coby safe, either from the stalker, or from his own interest in the singer.

About the Author: Jaime has been writing for various publishers since the fall of 2008, although she's been writing for herself far longer. Often asked why men; what’s so fascinating about writing stories about men falling in love, she's never come up with a clear answer. Just that these are the stories that she loves to read, so it seemed to make sense if she was going to write, they would also be the stories she wrote.

These days, you can find plenty of free reading on her website. She also writes for Freya’s Bower, Jupiter Gardens, and Total E-Bound.

Spare time, when it can be found rolled into a ball at the back of the dryer or cavorting with the dust bunnies in the corners, she's probably spending crocheting, drawing, gardening (weather permitting, of course, since she is Canadian!) or watching movies. She has a day job, as well, which she loves, and two kids, but thankfully, also a wonderful husband who shoulders more than his fair share of household and child care responsibilities.

She graduated some time ago from college with a Fine Arts diploma, and a major in textile arts, which basically qualifies her to draw pictures and create things with string and fabric. One always needs an official slip of paper to fall back on after all....

He lives with his husband William in San Francisco, where San Francisco magazine dubbed him “our erotica king.” They married on September 23, 2013: "William and I went down to San Francisco City Hall and got hitched. It was a whole lot of fun, and now we're happily husband and husband. Yippee!"

He is the author of many books of gay sex writing, including Man on Man: The Best of Simon Sheppard, Sodomy!, Jockboys, Kinkorama: Dispatches From the Front Lines of Perversion, In Deep, and Sex Parties 101.

His first book, Hotter Than Hell and Other Stories, won the Erotic Authors Association Award for Best Collection of the Year, and the title story of In Deep was shortlisted for the Rauxa Prize for Erotic Fiction. His work has also appeared in over 300 anthologies and magazines, including many editions of Best Gay Erotica and The Best American Erotica. The online serial "The Dirty Boys' Club,” which he wrote for OutPersonals, was published as a novel in 2012. He also curates and co-hosts, with Carol Queen, the San Francisco performance series Perverts Put Out! Sheppard is openly gay, and is active in the queer artistic, political and AIDS-activist communities.
