When it Rains, it Pours (2025)

 When it Rains, it Pours left me with mixed feelings. I liked the slow burning romance between Nakarai-san e Hagiwara-san, even if the apex, the sex scene, was a little bit awkard (how you can have sex without moving? and in a missionary position without raising even 1 leg? but maybe I'm a little too cynical here). What I don't like is that they do not explain the adversion of Kaori, Hagiwara's girlfriend, to having sex with Hagiwara, in the end they downplayed it like she got bored and I think it was not right to Kaori. But worse it was the reason why Fujisawa, Nakarai's boyfriend, didn't want to have sex: a misplaced sense of guilty regarding Nakarai's parents' death... well, even if you stretch it, the reason why Nakarai felt guilty is stupid, and the way he reacted to it, avoiding physical contact with Nakarai, is even more stupid: just with that confession all the sympathy I was feeling for Fujisawa went down the sink and suddenly I was rooting for Hagiwara. Yes, because up until that confession, I was trying to understand how Hagiwara and Nakarai could be happy without wounding Fujisawa and Kaori. Anyway, it was sort of a heavy drama, heavy meaning that it was a little bit oppressive, and even in the end, I felt like they are not completely free from their issues. But it was interesting, so I would reccommend it. HEA. You can see it on GagaOOLala. Heat Level: 5/6.

Our Youth (2024)

 Our Youth soon ranked to my top faves: it has everything I love in a drama, good actors, good settings, nice story, romance, passion... It was one of those dramas that I couldn't wait to see, and every week I was eagerly waiting for the next episode. The Japanese drama is adapted from a South Korean Manhwa (for who doesn't know they are the South Korean Manga). It's really the typical high school romance between the bad boy and the good one, so it shouldn't really rang different from many other similar dramas, but here the two actors are perfect, and they are able to convey all the angst of a teenager in love without making it stuffed or boring. I know, having read the manhwa, that there was an happy ending, but nevertheless I suffered with these two boys till the last episode, and yes, they even made me shed a tears or two. When at the end they promise each other to be married when the law will permit it, I wanted to say them, go abroad, marry in Hawaii, or find some escamotage... like they were a real couple I wanted to see happy. It was bittersweet to see that indeed they took the most realistic solution, to live they love in the closet, not even letting know their closest friends... the real and actual society is not allowing them to be something else right now. But oh boys, my heart was feeling for you soo much. Totally, definitely worth the watch. HEA. You can see it on GagaOOLala. Heat Level: 4/6.

Can a Freeloader Make It as a Secretary (2024)

 Can a Freeloader Make It as a Secretary is quite silly, and it's also a low budget production, but the actors are nice, including the supporting characters (aside for the evil woman, who is way too older to be paired with the young CEO). Indeed I liked it, it was basically a movie lenght (30 episodes 2 minutes each), and it was sweet and with an happy end. The evil woman was well balanced with other positive female figures, therefore there was not the thrope all women are bad and only men are positive. BTW is not the first time I read about kept man in Janapanese modern world, therefore I'm starting to wonder if it's really a thing in Japan... I know that they exist since forever, but in these stories they made it seems like it's sort of an alternative profession, almost like something ordinary. Anyway, nice way to spend one hour and leave with a smile. HEA. Heat Level: 1/6.

Gangster Like Me Got a Boyfriend (2024)

 I was sort of intrigued by Gangster Like Me Got a Boyfriend because, yes, well, the main actors are really handsome. But as soon as it started, it gave me bad vibes being a totally rip-off of the KinnPorsche series. There are really little differences, the main one being this is a low-budget production, so all the settings are sort of constricted. And the other main difference is that the "gangster" does not take advantage of his love interest while drunk. The behaviour of Jae Ho (the gangster) is probably the only think I save of this movie, he doesn't force himself on Yun Ho with the excuse he is in love. Said that, this is was way to unrealistic, and the plot too chopped here and there to make me enjoy it. HEA. Heat Level: 2/6.
