2020-2021 Rainbow Awards Honorable Mention: The Blood Boss (Black Veil Series #1)
The Blood Boss (Black Veil Series #1) by Davidson King
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The plot was intriguing, the characters were well developed, and the world-building here was certainly more than adequate.

This was a good read. I enjoyed it and wouldn’t mind reading more from this author. I don’t think I have ever read them before. So I’m going to be looking them up for sure.

This was a different read. A hard read in places. A strange read in others. But I really enjoyed it.

2020-2021 Rainbow Awards Honorable Mention: The Thing About Tilly
The Thing About Tilly by G. Benson
I found this to be a sweet story. I like how the two main characters finally came together. It was a nice read, and I would probably read this author again. I don’t think I have ever read this author before.

2020-2021 Rainbow Awards Honorable Mention: We Cry The Sea (The Moth and Moon)
We Cry The Sea (The Moth and Moon) by Glenn Quigley
Glenn Quigley has a lively writing style. It's refreshing to have protagonists who are middle-aged and not classically handsome.

2020-2021 Rainbow Awards Honorable Mention: Weekend at Bigfoot’s
Weekend at Bigfoot’s by Addison Albright
A photographer for a sleezy tabloid is sent to take a photo of Bigfoot and delve into why an older woman was killed after being caught in a bear trap. He finds Bigfoot—a village of bigfoots/bigfeet?—and falls in love with one of them. The underlying question/theme is if you know something about someone that could turn people prejudged against that person but isn’t hurting anyone (like if the person is gay or Bigfoot, for example), should you make the information public?

2020-2021 Rainbow Awards Honorable Mention: Gideon's Wish
Gideon's Wish by Bryan T. Clark
I give Mr. Clark FULL MARKS. I find Gideon's Wishes first rate with its narrative strength + strong characterizations & character developments + the gracerful way it confronts bold--for romance fiction--essential gay issues with deep sexual satisfactions in a nicely constructed "real world." I also found it quite moving. For me, Mr. Clark is the real deal, a serious artist with a social awareness that is rare and swell. I'm eager to read more of his work.

2020-2021 Rainbow Awards Honorable Mention: Uncharted
Uncharted by Alli Temple
High Fantasy. The Redmere society where the main characters come from is a cross between Victorian pruderie and Talibanistan. The obvious love match takes its time. The story over all flows well, at times it slows down a lot and has many unexpected turns. Esp. the sidecharacters are well done. One of the main theme are choices and their price. The end left me a bit unsatisfied. The proofreading is not up to standard.
