The Mormon church to exclude children of same-sex household from membership
The Mormon Church announced Thursday that children of same-sex households will not be allowed to be blessed as babies or baptized in the church."A natural or adopted child of a parent living in a same-gender relationship, whether the couple is married or cohabiting, may not receive a name and a blessing," the policy reads.

Study finds that children raised without religion show more empathy and kindness
A study conducted by the University of Chicago has found that children raised in non-religious households are kinder and more altruistic than those raised with religion.The study which was published in the journal Current Biology looked at 1170 children between the ages of 5 and 12 years in six countries (Canada, China, Jordan, Turkey, USA, and South Africa) and examined “the religiousness of their household, and parent-reported child empathy and sensitivity to justice.”

Kentucky’s Governor-elect supports funding the Ark Encounter
Last night, contradictory to every poll out there, Tea-Party conservative Matt Bevin won the Kentucky gubernatorial election.This is frightening on many levels for a state whose education system is in the toilet and needed heavy reform, but it is very scary for the Kentucky taxpayer who needs tax dollars sent to these schools, and other important statewide infrastructure and could instead find it sent to build a huge landlocked boat.
