First Book Club

This week I was invited to speak at a book club. Twenty women are expected and I will be opening myself up to their comments(good and bad).

I'm not sure if I'm ready for the bad.
When you put so much of yourself into your writing it is difficult to hear criticism. Let's face it. No one likes to be criticized.

My family and friends have told me I need to develop a thicker skin. I'm trying...I just hope I don't get any tears in my eyes if someone hates my novel.

Yesterday when I checked on my KDP report I actually sold two more books. I know, not that impressive. I am desperate to get the word out about my book Klara With a K. I've entered a writing contest and sent if off to be reviewed. I knew marketing would be difficult...but this difficult.

I did get a call from one of the museum docents, someone who used to volunteer where I worked. He bought the book and read for twelve straight hours. (Or so he claimed) At any rate he thanked me for writing Klara and that meant a lot.

So...to my one fan...if you have any ideas about marketing...let me know.
