Growing up in Venezuela, The Nomad Cook was exposed to simple, natural, and organic homemade cooking. As a kid, she was an attentive observer of anyone around her who was cooking. She made her first Arepa when she was probably around 7 years old, but she had been practicing since kindergarten... with clay.

One of the things she cherished from her youth was bonding with her dad as they adored eating together; often times speechless, sitting in the back seat of his parked car devouring a melted cheese filled Arepa. Even when she was feeling under the weather, it was my perfect comfort food.
