POEM FOR HALLOWEEN
The Dead of Night
by Kevin Ansbro
After the taxidermist had shut up shop for the night,
the stuffed mammals came to life
and the birds each took flight.
An asthmatic bloodhound, something of a wheezer,
then howled at the taxidermist's wife
as she clambered from a freezer.

Book auction for BBC Children in Read charity *UPDATE*

Two of my novels (packaged together) are currently up for action in this year's BBC 'Children in Read' charity auction.
(Kinnara & The Fish That Climbed a Tree).
The highest bidder can expect to receive two personalised copies which will look something like >This!<
(UK bidders only).
The highest bid for my customised books, so far, is £88 and today is the last day...
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...
And, if I'm not your cup of tea, there are plenty of authors in the auction who will be!
; )
So please support this great cause, my fellow bookaneers. In doing so, you will receive good karma for, oh, at least a month! : )
Big love,
Kevin x

Book auction for the BBC Children in Need charity.
My book received twenty-two bids and sold for £30. Thank you to BBC Children in Read for the invite!
There is currently an online auction of signed books donated by various authors, in aid of the BBC’s Children in Need.
At the forefront is a rare Chris Riddle print, signed by Neil Gaiman https://www.jumblebee.co.uk/childreni...
My own signed and doodled novel, KINNARA, sits at lot number 48 (I'm nowhere near as famous as Mr Gaiman).
The signed copy of my book can be viewed HERE. I will also personalise it, including the purchaser's name, and post it to anywhere in the world. : )
So please give it some consideration. Plenty of books to choose from, all proceeds go to charity, and you'll be blessed with good karma for at least a month!

My writing muse
Sometimes I think it would be rather nice to suffer from writer’s block; a period of nothingness where the brain ceases to be creative and I can be at one with the universe.
But the stark reality is that I continually pull my car over to the kerb, stop a conversation, pause a movie or leap out of bed at 2 a.m. just to jot an idea down.
My muse is altogether a restless genie, a conniving devil, a wanton mistress, even a fairy godmother. At times he’s Othello’s Iago, at others he’s Clarence from It’s a Wonderful Life. But he/she is always in standby mode and never seems to switch off!
