ARC Review: Hard Knox by Nicole Williams

The Outsider Chronicles, #1

New Adult/Adult Contemporary

Released August 12, 2014

My rating: 4/5 stars

I was really impressed with this book! I’ve been a huge Nicole Williams fan since day one, and this one does not disappoint. The only thing that slightly bothered me was the blatant slamming of Greek Life. I am personally in a sorority, and it made us all look like terrible, irresponsible party animals when that is not quite the case. Sure, there are stereotypes, and I was slightly unimpressed t...

Elia from Empire Books PR has beenso incredibly supportive throughout this entire process, and she will be responsible for setting up a blog tour for IGNITE. Falling In Love… With Learning.

I’m graduating from University in a little under three weeks. I don’t have to give a speech of any kind, but if I did, this would be it.

I walked into my freshman convocation just like any other student. I was scared, excited, and I really had no idea what to expect, except from awful movies. I sat with my roommate and her cluster of random friends that she had managed to make even before classes began. As I twisted my student I.D. around in my hands and looked around at the thousands of faces...

That One Time When I Out-Nerded Myself… Again.

My lastnerdy clothing purchase happened here.

I now own this lovely little number, which I plan on wearing for my birthday in the summer. That’s my plan because right now, it’s -12 outside. Smooth move, polar vortex.

I’ve always liked Marvel better than DC… but after Man of Steel and now Arrow, (on the CW, watch it, if only for Stephen Amell’s salmon ladder) they’re doing a pretty good job of evening it out, at least as far as film/tv interpretations go.

Seriously. Google “Stephen Amell salmon l...

Blog Tour: Wide Open by Shelly Crane (PLUS e-book GIVEAWAY!)

So I know in the past I’ve mentioned what a huge fan I am of Shelly Crane’s books, and this new release is no exception! I was so excited when Shelly provided me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I first loved her Significance(more informationhereand here) series, and she didn’t disappoint with Wide Awake! Wide Openis a companion novel toWide Awake, so you don’t have to have read the first one to understand what’s happening, but I would definitely recommend that you read it so you...

That One Time I Researched Self-Publishing And It Killed My Soul

Okay, rant ahead.

I’m 52K into the manuscript of Ignite. I’m betting I have maybe 20K or so to go, because it’s going to be marketed most likely as a YA novel. I was going to make it a more New Adult kind of thing, but it had a mind of its own, so now it’s not.

For some reason, there’s something wrong with me right now and I can literally only write after midnight once everyone else is asleep and I should be. So naturally, I sleep until noon the next day after I’ve finished at 3am, but who care...

The Trick

Well, I’ve been gone for FOREVER, slaving away to finish Equilibrium and this semester of school. I haven’t posted in forever, so I thought I would post my final paper for my Modern Short Story class, which, incidentally, is a short story! It’s a lot different from what I usually write, so I really enjoyed the whole process.

——————————————————————-

I don’t want to be here.

I’m waiting to board the plane. I look around at the families, couples, and lone travelers like myself. At the businessmen o...
