Steampunk this time
My second book is "Tommy Tuckernocker: Shadow Warrior
this one is 56,000 words and is a great steampunk-special ops adventure.
Again good fun for a reader with action and suspense.
Meet Tommy Tuckerknocker; an agent of the Ministry of Clandestine Affairs and Shadow Warriors. He commands a team of fellow Shadows in an ongoing mission to protect New Devon from any and all enemies. He knows it is imperative that they keep everyone in the dark on who they are.
The leader of Deutschland Zwei wants to be Kaiser of the whole America Continent. New Devon is on his short list of counties to start with. In five tales of deadly adventures, wild chases, and violent action Tommy and team work to stop him.
Along with to dealing with guards, massive airships, guards, enemy soldiers, and countdowns Tommy will need to learn to lead, out think a traitor, deal with his own doubts, inexperience, and a growing angst.
And he has to cope with his mother; who, while she loves him, has her own ideas and a desire to matchmake.
David J, Higgins (Greenstar)
Decidedly gritty action set in a world not unlike our own. Filled with small unit tactics and airship combat, and without a single convention-defying young lady in sight, Doggett's novel is firmly military steampunk.
Christian Freed (Where Have All The Elves Gone)
"While I don't profess to any knowledge of the steam punk genre I immediately felt comfortable after only a few pages of jumping into Louis Doggett's Tommy Tuckerknocker. Being a former soldier myself, I easily followed the flow and pacing of the story as Tommy took his team through a series of life and death situations that were not only action packed, but realistic in terms of how they play out. This book was not only enjoyable, but easily read. I found myself at the end much faster than I was prepared for. Kudos to Mr. Doggett for writing an enjoyable tale."
This one too is on Amazon and at other online retailers. OnlyTommy Tuckernocker: Shadow Warrior $4.99 though.

My books
Above My Pay GradeX2I just wanted to remind those that read this that I do have two nooks out:
Both are fun reads especially if you are snowed in. A good way to overcome cabin fever,
One is
Above My Pay GradeX2
A great Tale with action, mystery, adventure, suspense, the hero learning about herself and growing. Fun for the reader.
It's Urban Fantasy along the lines of what Jim Butcher, Laura Anne Gilman and C. E. Murphy, Benedict Jacka write. I could include many other good writers too. Like John Levitt and now I add Lisa Emme even though she does more paranormal than I do.
------------------------------------------------------------
Hi, my name is NA, I found myself drawn to an adventure much worse than anything I have been on before. I was born with a special ability to change matter and energy. Usually I help women who need to escape their abusers or anyone who has problems with mythical creatures. In this new case, however will my talent and experience be enough save my friends---and me?
There is a flu going around making Users and Mages sick, and killing some. It is NA’s job—she has the special geas to prove it—to find the cause and to stop it, before something even worse happens. She just has to get around her emotional issues, a grizzly, a griffin, ghosts, an AI Trick, and an angry abuser who wants revenge and other dangers. At the same time, she has to figure out what a friend is.
She is out of her pay grade, has no plan to find, or defeat the cause, and is caught in a wave of anger aimed at her and her friends. Yet, somehow she is the only one who can stop this "flu". The geas and the Power behind it, must have made a mistake and sent it to the wrong person. However, since she has it, it’s her job to keep a deadly event from happening. To make it worse she has a deadline: one she doesn’t know even exists. A large job for a Freak with a lot of emotional issues, and doubts.
E-book $5.99 at amazon and other online retailers.

Question
Not sure If I recall correctly but are all my followers and/or friends get to read these posts?
Or do they have to mark that they want to?
If anyone sees this I assume they would be able to answer that if not that would answer my question but I wouldn't see it. :)

My writing in '15
People around here and elsewhere--hm, make that writers around here and elsewhere are listing what they did in this past year
I thought I would list my writing accomplishments.
Actually I didn't keep track all that much so this will be in estimates and guesstimates.
So 15 to 26 short stories. Seven or nine were short ones a bit less than 600 words. A couple were over 15,000 words.
Two novels: one very close to 51,000 words the other I am not sure but over 66,000 words maybe over 75,000.
The second one will be Indie Published this year. As will the second to my "Above My Pay GradeX2".
I also added some where along the lines of 10,000 words to a shorter novel I did last year and revised and added to sections of that longer novel I referenced up above. And revised and added to another one I did last year. That one was published as an Indie novel-Tommy Tuckernocker: Shadow Warrior.
I also started three other novels but only worked on them now and then. Less than ten thousand on two but maybe around ten thousand on the third. And worked on another novel I started over two years ago. (Shoulder shrug) five thousand-maybe seven.
I believe that was it for writing.
Oh I took an online workshop so I also did five or so openings. for that One or two have been finished.
I sent out a few stories to various markets. Not as many as I should have and could have though. Not sure how many. 20? 33? Probably not much more if that many.
Finally got a Honorable Mention out of the new executive editor at Writers of the Future. I had four from their old executive editor. Means I did something right so he read the whole thing instead of just part of it and that he liked something about it.
They have HMs, Sliver HMs, semi-finalists, finalists and First Second and Third places taken out of the finalists. Usually ten of the last. I sent an even better story this time-we shall see if he agrees.

My E-books on a New Years sale: Great adventure and fun for readers.
Tommy Tuckernocker: Shadow Warrior 56,000 words.
A steampunk special ops fusion set on a slightly different Earth. Much fun for readers.
Remember books make great gifts even paper ones even though mine are at the usual prices. But still this one's paper version price isn't bad, at $11.99
But the E-version is $3.50 until Jan 5 '16. It's a great action packed tale of Tommy Tuckernocker who has decided to protect his country from those who want to take it over by force. He sneaks into factories, is chased in an airship, and on the ground, deals with a bank robbery back home and has to find a traitor, while he learns how to command men and women who may die because he makes a mistake.
A different twist on an old tale-ish.

Format: Paperback
I have to start off by saying I am normally not a big fan of reading first person books. There have been plenty of times when I simply put the book down and walked away. I didn't have that problem with LE Doggett's Above my Pay Grade. The very concept that mages- in uniform no less- could exist within the everyday, modern world right under our noses is interesting enough to have made me continue through to the end. The author's familiarity with the location added depth and characterization that can be seen in Robert Ludlum's novels, further enhancing the old adage of write what you know. This book was fast paced and laced with enough action to keep me wanting to read. I eagerly await the next novel (which he promised in the beginning) in this series. Good read.

One last Christmas post about God's Greatest Gifts
One last bit of Christmas.
"God's Greatest Gifts" to us
This message was delivered by my pastor the week before Christmas but it was just recently added to the church's podcast website. The message is good all year because God gives us good things all year. There is a lot of good stuff here and a message we could use for joy peace and hope which is all a part of Christmas.
The message is delivered with humor, common sense and some transparency so it is worth listening to.
Church is Valley Christian Center of Fresno CA and the pastor is Bill Chaney. For more information you can go to vccfresno.org

Time for my Christmas post for '15 Why Christmas: He is with us. He is love, the first step for grace
Time for my yearly post about what Christmas is all about. To new readers: I have done this for something like five years. I usually deal with the fact that Jesus being born was a sign that God is with Us. Not only Us as in all of humanity but Us as in individually. God the Creator of the universe is with us. That idea can create Hope in every situation. God can deal with and heal your situations, issues, hurts and actions. He is also there to hold you through it all too. Or to help you become an even better person.
Christmas is also a sign and is evidence of God’s love. That is Jesus’ birth was and still is a definite sign of the fact that God is love. Again not only humanity as a whole but you individually. No matter what hurts, hangups, habits you have. No matter what you have done or not done God the Creator loves you. All peoples groups, all races, all nationalities, all of us-yes, that last was redundant but there was a purpose to the redundancy. A solid point I wanted to make.
So Christmas-Jesus being born in a stable to a simple girl, placed in a manger, the shepherds, the angel announcement, the whole thing. There have been plenty of pictures, real displays, movie scenes that show this moment. It doesn’t matter if there was snow outside the stable or if, as some think, it was a cave or a very simple structure, the important thing is that He was born. And that not only is that moment being a show of God’s love and that it is God with us, as I stated already, but it was also the first step in God’s plan of Grace. He had to be born, had to grow up, had to teach and show miracles, had to have temptations and had to die and had to be resurrected so that we-as in you and me-can be forgiven and thereby can know God. Sin was a big problem and it had to be dealt with as in completely done away with in our lives. He showed we could not live up to a series of rituals and commandments, that our own efforts got us no closer to God. Yet He still loved us and to prove that love He sent His only Begotten Son so that whoever believes in Him should not perish-should not die separated from God. He also showed His great love toward us in that while we were yet sinners God sent Jesus to die for us. That is the part of the Christmas story that is Love. God Sent us His Son, born of a woman. That is Love! That is why we rejoice over Christmas; not only is God with us in a way He hadn’t been before, not only does it show His Love for all of us but it is His gift to us. Grace is unmerited favor-we don’t earn it or deserve it. We are saved by grace so that no one can boost. That is why Joy and Peace are a part of Christmas as well as love-hope should be too for Jesus is the hope creator. Noel is another word for Christmas and could come from a word that meant birth. It has become a short way to say celebrate Jesus was born.
As with any gift we have to receive it. God still allows the free will He made us with, so it is your choice to receive it or not. Good things come with receiving it: most important total forgiveness of your sins-they are done away with-but also healing of hurts, hangups and habits, plus Joy so good it is unspeakable and peace that passes understanding and a love that is terrific. Yes, there are changes which can be rough but over all it is definitely worth it.
If you choose it, tell God, tell someone else, read the Bible. Just talk to God as you would anyone you know. He knows you need it and He knows your pains and hurts and your sins so agree with Him-say it. He understands pain, plain talk and if you are not totally sure about this.

A series of Healthy Relationship messages from my pastor
Bill Chaney did a series of sermons titled "Health Relationships" based on the Fruit of the Spirit.
For those who don't know the Fruit is produced in us by the Holy Spirit-He does the hard work produce it in our lives from the inside out. The Fruit are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith-faithfulness. Each message uses one, sometimes two of these to show how to have a healthy relationship with others. Much of the emphasis is on marriage but other type of relationships are included too.
If you are having problems with a relationship or just want to make one even better try these podcasts. The Bible does have much to say about such things, using a understanding of what makes people tick and how to deal with it.
These are presented with humor, common sense, the Bible, and even some personal experiences by Bill. They start with Love and go on, touching many issues of a relationship.
There are outlines you can download with each message. They have the basic outline but with places for you to fill in too.
So enjoy and learn:
