A Diary that nobody else will read
Hi. I'm going to write a quick-ish little message here that is probably mostly for myself to read (or re-read or understand or something; unfortunately, I have recently noticed that in addition to not speaking, spelling, or writing as well as I used to, I also can't remember things as well, for cripes sake {sp?}). Anyway basically here's my deal.
For years, I had a very long, weirdly personal blog online (CandyDishDoom). About a year ago, I switched over to this site, which is not so person...

Yum-o-Rama
Feel free to submit poems (or other odd little entities) to Thirteen Myna Birds, (the online piece I publish, of which you can visit the latest entry by clicking on it here - http://13myna.blogspot.com/ ). My reading is slow-ish lately, but I hope to update the site sometime this month, if I receive at least a few interestingly weird or delish stuff that I feel like accepting. If you visit and read some of the latest Thirteen Myna Birds, you may also see the guidelines appearing near the bott...

ActionYes Poetry
The Winter 2010 ActionYes online issue includes two poems by me, slurp!:
http://actionyes.org/index.htm
I really like ActionYes. I've read several of their deliciously wonderful poetry books, like 'My Kafka Century' by Arielle Greenburg, 'Remainland' by Aase Berg (translated by Johannes Gorransson)and two hideously excellent collections by Lara Glenum--'The Hounds of No' AND 'Maximum Gaga'.
I even wrote a longish review-like thingee of 'Max. Gag.' for an older issue of Gently Read Literature (ht...

I Have to Go Back to 1994...
Here's a review I wrote a few months back (published this month), of Karyna McGlynn's poetry book, 'I Have to Go Back to 1994 and Kill a Girl'.
I'm really glad I read that book and wrote a review a while ago, because I quite liked it (read it twice), but now my reading is much slower that even reading my own poems is tough (and I also had to let a few poets that I'd agreed to write reviews for now that I couldn't do it anymore right now, sigh).
I'll get better at some point, though--and then I'...

Little thingees
Hi. I wrote about these upcoming poetry piece publications the first of the month, but now they've happened, so here's a little update.
Last time, I accidentally wrote the wrong date for my Everyday Genuis poem--I initally wrote February 17, but it actaully appeared on February 16. And Listenlight was just published last night.

poetry (good and not so good) stuff
I wrote some poems in December and now cannot read or understand them well, due to my stroke. I also can't read poetry (or other) books well. I can read/write a little, but much more slowly than usual. I have read a lot of neato cards and notes from folks and appreciate those.
After the beginning of January, I haven't written poems and I haven't read poems by others, including those submitted to my online literary magazine, 13 Myna Birds (for which I've received a lot of submissions lately an...

I had a stroke and cannot currently read (poetry, people's names, most things more than one silable(?)), which socks. I can read this right now
but might not be able to soon.

petite treat(ise) purge
It's cold, but I just consumed two different flavors of ice cream for lunch, including double chocolate cookie crumble. I'm having one of those days during which second-guessing would be an understatment for my state of mind; I'm multi-guessing myself so much, I can hardly even function productively. I think part of the reason is stress and another part of the reason could be my mind is simultaneously trying to grapple with too many different things i.e. I'm brainstorming two different...
