Another New Review of MUTANT NEURON CODEX SWARM
"Though not a collection for the faint of heart, there is much beauty to be found in these painful poems. The gorgeously grotesque imagery and musicality of lines like “Twisted doll head inside blood drenched meringue.” and “The dead skin moss slumped then slithered; spread our limbs apart/ then bred them into new chrysalis.” is undeniable."from a new review written by Kathy Burkett of MUTANT NEURON CODEX SWARM, a collaborative poetry chapbook by Juliet Cook and Robert Cole (Hyacinth Girl Press, 2015)

New Review of MUTANT NEURON CODEX SWARM
This book is writhing with its own secrets; its own masks; its own messes. This is a place “where the light at the end of the tunnel/is another tunnel smoldering beyond control.”

Lines from Swarm Two within MUTANT NEURON CODEX SWARM
"Nobody can save us. You nest above my door frame.
The twitching window needle. The taker and giver
of twisted hives buzzing out every sick hole.
You paint my house in foam. Fear is to groan in a sea
of Rabies the Drooler. I fear drowning by way of wasp
that would bite holes until nothing remains of the real me."
from the poem "Swarm Two", within the new chapbook MUTANT NEURON CODEX SWARM by Juliet Cook & Robert Cole (Hyacinth Girl Press, 2015)

New MUTANT Blurb
Pouch has called MUTANT NEURON CODEX SWARM (Hyacinth Girl Press, January 2015) by Robert Cole and me, "A Burroughs-esque sci-fi odyssey. The kind of nightmares we WANT to have."Read more below and thank you to Pouch and Bradley K Meyer

***Issue One contributor Juliet Cook has a recent chapbook co-authored with Robert Cole, MUTANT NEURON CODEX SWARM (Hyacinth Girl Press, 2015). We read it & we liked it. A Burroughs-esque sci-fi odyssey. The kind of nightmares we WANT to have. Some of our favorite bits:
'In the moist throng of our sexual misunderstanding, they invented a way to filter dead skin from bad memories.Later we searched the trash for the filter, collected the slum in our fingers, ate it whole like a pinch of moss.' - from Fins and Scalpel
'Paper tornadoes all over the place.
The telegraph reads DON'T
stop DON'T stop DON'T stopDON'T you dare! The aftermath
is never good enough.' - from Stop the Madness!
Elegantly bound. Consider checking it out:

The Blood Pudding Press 2015 chapbook contest results!
I know I had indicated with the contest guidelines that at least three finalists and two winners would be chosen - and each of the two winners would have their chapbooks published and would receive thirteen free copies of their chapbook. Similarly to last year, it felt nearly impossible for me to narrow it down to only naming five though, so I doubled that and am naming TEN - four Semi-Finalists, three Finalists, and THREE WINNERS.
I will only be publishing the three winners, but I truly hope that the Finalists and Semi-Finalists soon find a press that chooses their manuscripts to publish too. In fact, there were handfuls of chapbooks that very much deserve to be published that didn't quite make it into my top ten list, because I received so many oodles of high quality submissions.
***
Here are the Blood Pudding Press chapbook contest results - from four Semi-Finalists to three Finalists to the THREE WINNERS.
Four Semi-Finalists:
Clarissa Jakobsons - Camille Claudel: Montdevergues Asylum
Stephanie Lane Sutton - Revocation
Kelly Andrews - Kingdom of Lust
Yu-Han Chao - Notes to a White Bell
Three Finalists :
Paul David Adkins - War Stories
Winnona Elson Pasquini - AND THE STARS FROM THE SKY ARE RIPPED
Jennifer MacBain-Stephens - Jeanne
The Three Winners (in the order I plan to publish them):
! Lauren Gordon - Fiddle Is Flood (to be published in March)
! Matthew J. Hall - Pigeons and Peace Doves (to be published in late May/early June)
! Nicole Rollender - Bone of My Bone (to be published in late August/early September)
Thanks again to everyone and big congratulations to the three winners!
