Monday Inspiration: How to Conquer Hardships

Writings By Ender

Creatives, like everyone else, undergo hardships. Life can’t bend to our artistic whims and we’re forced to abide by the laws of reality. There will be hardships. In family, or friends, at work, or in our leisure the inevitable hardship will strike. The dedicated creative, the passionate worker is left at an impasse when squaring up with hardship. Do they back down on creative pursuits until the hardship passes, or do they otherwise endure fighting against the whirlwind. The artistically noble thought is the latter, of course, but the answer is often much more nuanced.

Those who brave the tempest come to realize a peculiarity of hardship: it has a way of distilling. We often spread ourselves thin to translucence on various projects and hobbies. While battling the tempest, there is no time for those extraneous things. In hardship forces you to sift through the life-crud and to focus on…

Life Is In The Look

from Instagram: http://ift.tt/2k4w45g The greatest difficulty spiritually is to concentrate on God, and His blessings are what make it so difficult. Troubles almost always make us look to God, but His blessings tend to divert our attention elsewhere.

From #OswaldChambers devotional http://utmost.org

Isaiah 45:22

“Look to Me, and be saved,

All you ends of the earth!

For I am God, and there is no other.

John 3:14

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,

And when the people who had bitten by poisonous snakes (as a result of complaining) looked they were saved. The Book of Numbers 21:4-9

Lesson Learned

Its all in the look, the look of faith, not mere belief in facts but trust in the person of Jesus Christ. Focus is a singular work of the will.

Fiction Analysis: Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur

your art

is not about how many people

like your work

your art

is about

if you your heart likes your work

if your soul likes your work

it’s about about how honest

you are with yourself

and you

must never

trade honesty

for relatability

–to all you young poets

Writings By Ender

Utterly beautiful and devastating. I don’t read much poetry anymore but Rupi Kaur gets my respect and admiration with the force behind Milk and Honey. I found moments from tears, I found myself rejoicing, I found myself at fault and I found myself the victim all within Milk and Honey. Reading Milk and Honey does take an awareness of a trend in poetry: The lack of capital letters for anything at all. It irked me for all of two seconds to shed my contempt at a lack capitalization, it charmed me entirely through dark and light.

Milk and Honey is the best book I’ve read so far this year. It is concise, it strikes deep and unrelenting. It is feminine. Rupi Kaur is bound to get endless praise for this work. There are also bound to be many who owe their lives, the existence of their own femininity, to…

Noisy Questions of our Head

Have you ever been lovingly struck upside the head with a profound truth about yourself? As Jimi Hendrix said in the chorus of “Are You Experienced”

Well I have.

Oswald Chambers daily devotional did that yet again today 1.13.2017

“There are vast areas of stubbornness and ignorance the Holy Spirit has to reveal in each of us, but it can only be done when Jesus gets us alone. Are we alone with Him now? Or are we more concerned with our own ideas, friendships, and cares for our bodies? Jesus cannot teach us anything until we quiet all our intellectual questions and get alone with Him.”

In another version, he calls them, “The noisy questions of of our head.”

Right on Oswald!
