Richard Lessner, PhD was until his retirement Executive Director of the Madison River Foundation, a non-profit conservation organization incorporated in Montana and dedicated to protecting and preserving the Madison River and its related ecosystem. He earned his doctoral degree in historical studies from Baylor University. He was a reporter and columnist for the Arizona Republic and the Union Leader (New Hampshire) newspapers. Richard lives in Montana with his wife Pamela and two cats.
