5 Star Review from The Boyfriend Bookmark!
I loved this book! The storyline had me giggling and falling in love. The characters were unique and adventurous. I wasn’t expecting to give this book a lot of thought when I started it, but the more I read the more I adored it. The characters, their story, their family and their lives were all right on the mark with a great read.
She was a teacher looking to start a new school. She had everything going on her side. She worked countless hours trying to fit all of the pieces together and she didn’t give up. She was determined and relentless. But when Lauren meets with an architect to help her through the process, something shifts inside her. She has no idea what she is doing. She needs to focus on this school and walk away. But there is just something about Matthew that she is drawn to. She knows it can be nothing more than one-night of amazing sex. It seems though each time she is near him, she wants him more and more. Pushing him away is her only option…
Matthew has other plans. He doesn’t want her to push away. From the moment he set eyes on her at that mess of a church that she was not the norm. She was the exception to all of his dating rules. She wasn’t athletic, she wasn’t built like all of the women he dated. She was this cute little thing that he just wanted to touch. Yes, he saw her game plan when it came to him, but he was going to be relentless in his pursuit. He knew what he wanted, though he too tried to talk himself out of it. He knew there was something about this teacher that was just a bit on the wild side and once he had a taste, he was hooked.
She can be a naughty school teacher if she lets herself enjoy the ride long enough and he can be the strength that she needs to get through the journey. But is Lauren sacrificing too much by getting involved?
And then moment together, and the pretty much do… but it is with the help of those siblings that Matthew finds balance between work and Lauren. He knows what he wants, but can he convince her of what she wants before she runs for good?
This book was full of life and spirit and a few crazy adventures, But Matthew and Lauren’s story is amazing! I loved the vibe in this book. It wasn’t over the top on the dramatics of love and it wasn’t too soft of the passion. I loved the characters and their story of turning a factory into an education. Both characters learned so much about themselves in the process too.
The secondary characters were amazing as well, except for the dad… he I could have done without. But the brothers and sisters were great fun to have about. They all knew where their strengths and weaknesses were and together they all thrived. This book is well written and a great story!there is his family. Siblings so close they seem to spend every waking moment together, and the pretty much do… but it is with the help of those siblings that Matthew finds balance between work and Lauren. He knows what he wants, but can he convince her of what she wants before she runs for good?

Cruising Susan Review: Underneath It All
Underneath it All, by Kate Canterbary is a romantic story with a hint of humor. Kate writes exceptionally about a two people learning to make adjustments for the better in their life.
We have two main characters in the story. Lauren Halsted is an educator, and is set upon achieving her goals. She has little time for love in her life, and is quite the go getter when it comes to her dreams. Matthew Walsh is the go-to-guy. Anyone that wants an architect to do a great job – he is the guy to go to. He is loyal to his family business, even sometimes to a fault. He has little time for relationships, and enjoys women who are beasts. The earth stops rotating the day Lauren meets Matthew to see about a school renovation. He wants to deny this sexy curvy woman, but his libido won’t let him. Lauren though may be resistant to his ideas.
I really thought that Matthew was more heartfelt than Lauren. Lauren came from a family of Navy Seals, so maybe that made her a tad more tough. I can say Matthew was my favorite character. I loved seeing a male character being more vulnerable than we normally see them. That was definitely Matthew. As far as secondary characters, my favorite was Shannon. She was Matthew’s sister as well as the one that financially held the company together. She seemed tough in front of her brothers, but behind the steel wall was a woman as soft as a feather pillow. She became good friends with Lauren, and that was a part I enjoyed was watching these two women together. They were good for each other.
One character I did not like was Angus Walsh – the father. He was so bitter and angry that it was really hard to read about him. But to be honest, he played an integral part of the story. Without Angus, the ending would not have been as great as it was.
I believed the conflict of the story was allowing one to choose to live life fully as possible. Lauren was so set upon her ideals that good things were passing right past her. She had to choose to allow love in, and let it be a good thing for her.
My favorite part of the story was watching Lauren become selfless. Sometime, she was so stuck on watching her dreams come true that she forgot others could be hurting. I won’t say exactly what happened, but I know when you read the part you will be swooning with happy feelings like I did.
Lovers of romance will be happy with this new novel. Underneath it All is worth of all 5 stars that I gave it.

This book is soooooooo much more than that and there is nothing cookie cutter about it!The school teacher... Lauren... She is the daughter and baby sister of navy seals and is curvy, fiery, and anything but an immature innocent virgin. She is independent.. Bossy, and funny!!The hot businessman... Matthew... He is a sought after architect...

You Know You're Sleeping with an Architect When....
Architects are special creatures. They are cut from a cloth that’s all their own, and lumping them in with businessmen, doctors, or lawyers is to miss the nuances that make architects so fascinating.
In all things, they balance art and science, instinct and creativity. They tend to be highly articulate and attend to fine details, and bring deliberate thought to all of their decisions, and those are delightful quirks.
Here are a few more snippets from Matthew Walsh, and how you’ll know when you’re sleeping with an architect:
1. They state their opinions as fact. It comes from years of defending their reasoning and advocating their designs with loads of research, and they need someone who can argue right back.
“”The load on this structure”—I pointed to the roof—”is causing extensive stresses and deformations on the internal supports. The walls, the pillars. And I’d bet anything the foundation has deteriorated beyond repair. A strong gust and this place is coming down. I want you fifty feet away, Miss Halsted.” I passed my fingers down the stone column for emphasis, a trail of sand and pebbles trickling to the ground.
“I’m only Miss Halsted inside the classroom. Call me Lauren.” Her smile was serene, yet wholly impatient. “Are you structures.” I wanted to drag her across the street, lock her in the car, and sure?”
“I make a point of knowing safe then…well, those interests weren’t part of a standard consult.”
