Love and locks

One week to go until our valentine story The Trap is released!
Over the next week, Al and I will be giving you daily poems, interviews, songs, games from the story.
Why?
Because anything is better than doing the housework :D

So today, I have in my studio Sal, a character from the story. He is rather nervous so please go easy with him.

Me: Sal, tell us a bit about yourself
Sal: About me? You don't want to talk about Matthew?
Me: Not today. I'd like to know more about you, if you don't mind.
Sal: Ur ok, what d'you want to know? There's nothing really to tell.
Me: Something about your background?
Sal: Okay. I was born in North Yorkshire. Is that enough?
Me: Are your family artists?
Sal: No. No! My family, they are normal people. can we move on, please?
Claire: Sorry, I can see that's a touchy subject for you. Tell us about the gallery.
Sal: Oh, that's much easier! Matthew bought the gallery and had it renovated. It's beautiful, and old and when I work there I feel like it's very important. Can we move on to move on to Matthew now?
Me: Ok, tell us about Matthew?
Sal: He is the wind that moves the trees and the sunshine I wake up to.
Me: Wow!

And come back tomorrow, for the next instalment ...

Space Cowboys and Rocket Men

A big thank you for everyone who nominated and voted for our stories in the MM group awards. I was very touched and surprised to see our books on those lists , particularly Tork who has been nominated for four categories.
I 'll just say that again because it's not very believable to me !
The Invasion of Tork is a special baby to me and Al. We were asked to write a Christmas story . So, we tried to come up with elf sex, and Santa shenanigans, but somehow the story of homeless Tork is what came out. It's as if we are miserable bastards!
For a long time we hoped no one would read it , because we both thought it was not really worthy of the other stories in the anthology, or of the beautiful young man it was based on. So it is amazing to see it being nominated :)
I am also VERY PLEASED to see our cover artist and friend Noah Homes being nominated five times for his beautiful covers. If I could nominate someone for being awesome, Noah, I would nominate you .

We are currently writing a story I shall call Space Cowboys. It has already caused some hair pulling and minor eyebrow action, which are often good signs in the writing process. Hopefully we will finish it soon.

Oh, I can reveal there will be more Tork and Adam stories !

The Invasion of Adam

The Invasion of Adam
The Invasion of Adam is a sequel to a story we wrote in 2014 about a homeless young man. Like most of our work ( except the merman :D) it is based on real people and real circumstances we have come across at work or our own lives. It was our first publication outside the MM group, and part of the Beaten Track anthology Boughs of Evergreen. ( And mostly down to the fantabulous Debbie McGowan).
Sometimes people ask us why we write; and there are many reasons. Claire says she often writes when she is angry or hopeless, when she feels powerless and tiny. But for me, I cannot write when I am sad. I like to tease out the discrepancies, the contradictions that make up a person. Oh okay, you got me sussed : D I don’t know why I write, only that doing so with my friends is great fun and adds rainbows to my life.
So, a while ago I asked people if they would like sequels for any of our stories ( imagine if they said no !!!!), and this was how The Invasion of Adam began.
I have been forbidden from giving anything away, except these few hints and a short extract which will be appearing very soon on our website. ( Later tonight)
We are very, very, excited to bring you this next episode of Tork and Adam’s, and hope that it will not be the last :D

Because it is time for the Beaten Track Summer anthology to be released!!! Here is an extract of an interview with myself and the fab Ms Debbie McGowan, queen of Beaten Track publishing.

Me: So, Deb. How do you feel about your forthcoming anthology release?

Debbie: (Lancs accent) aah feel bloody knackered, buut right excited.

Me and the esteemed Ms Davis slappahatter would like to introduce our own story, Ribbons and Frills, and an short interview with myself, Ms Davis, and the esteemed Mr Homes Cover artiste

Me: Ms Davis. Thats's a nice new hair flower. Is it mine?
Ms Davis: Yes. Hiccup
Me: Moving on. Mr Homes, where do you get your inspiration for such lovely covers?
Noah Bun: I am often inspired when on the toilet
Me: Moving on ( see what I have to work with here)

Moving on, moving on... Here is our blurb :D

Ribbons and Frills costume sewing factory has always been about creating dreams, but when the owner asks his very upper-class son to take over, sparks fly, and not just from the sewing machines. The last time manager Gary Shaw saw Ashley Turner-Hoff was a year ago, when he left Gary standing on the beach with a broken heart and sand in his underwear.

Ashley Turner-Hoff has a plan to save the factory which involves one famous mannequin and a fashion show in London.

Can Gary forgive Ashley and give him a second chance? Can Ribbons and Frills really compete against top fashion designers, and do Gary's dreams of being on stage finally come true?
Find out in this summer story of sequins, sand, and surprises!

Part of "Summer Bigger Than Others - A Summer Anthology" from Beaten Track Publishing. (less)

Enjoy and have a fantastic Summer!!

Valentine's day

Al's poem

Valentine's day

Will he be bold,
with boots and a horse?
spurring his heels,
handsome, of course

Will he be tall,
will he be clever?
Will he be rich,
and never say never?

But will he be kind,
and has he an ear
to listen to me
when I have a tear

Can I steal his socks,
and then burn his tea?
know I am his,
then he is for me.

If that sounds about right, then you might like me and Al's new Valentine story :D

Boughs of Evergreen

Hello dear friends,
Boughs of Evergreen is about to be released. It is an anthology of 23 short stories celebrating the holiday seasons, and with an LGBTQ focus. All proceeds will go to The Trevor Project
The Trevor Project is the leading national organization [USA] providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people ages 13-24. For more information, visit: www.thetrevorproject.org.
I was very honoured when Debbie McGowan asked me and Claire if we would write a story for this anthology. I did not have a happy time as a young adult. I went for more than a year without speaking a single word because I was so unhappy. None of the professionals could get me to speak. It wasn’t that I had no words; in fact I had so many that they all got stuck, like a bottle neck.
So, I was very pleased to be able to contribute to such a fantastic charity.
If you have got any money to spare, the anthology is being released November 21st and is available for pre-order now in both paperback or as a Kindle eBook and the stories will also be released individually on December 1st.
The anthology can be purchased in paperback directly from there publisher here: http://www.beatentrackpublishing.com/...
Or from Amazon.com here:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/1909192899/r...
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00P59ZJZC
If you would like to read it, but have no spare cash, please let me know, and I will buy it for you. Thank you, dear friends.
