WordForge

The Wordforge is live. But I hear you say, ‘Uh… what’s the WordForge?” The Wordforge is my (admittedly needs work) attempt at a podcast. Yes, your truly is once a week recording his voice in an attempt to… I don’t know. But I’m doing it anyways. Right now, the Wordforge is mostly about a little […]

2021, and goals.

So welcome to 2021. 2020 is over, finally. Oh sure, there are a few last gasps of the last year still on the radar, but we are moving forward. Let’s all hope that this time next year we will look back on 2021 with some fondness. So, 2021, and goals. For myself, I like to […]

Release day for my next book is here!

Release day for my next book! The days of the year where any writer gets to let something they have spent long hours working on, pouring over, fretting about, and totally getting over absorbed on for some length of time. Release day for me, for this year, is here. The sequel to Blood of a […]

My reference books: Monsters?

It’s time for another ‘My reference books’ post. And my attempt to keep the blog at least somewhat relevant. So what’s this post about? “The Monsters know what they are doing.” book. Now, you may see that title and wonder, what is he on about? It’s pretty simple. I used to be a fairly active […]

My reference books: Atlas Obscura

My reference books. The name sounds…old. But for me at least, I have a handful of books I use, and use often for both inspiration and clarification when I’m writing. This is one of my reference books, the Atlas Obscura. These aren’t books on writing, though I have a few of those as well. No, […]

Catch Up time!

Time to play catch up with the blog. Wow..April flew by. Which is weird as most of us, me included are in quarantine/shelter in place/stay home kind of stuff. It’s been a strange ride so far I’ll admit that. Sadly my writing has not been as productive as I’d hoped this month. I sort of […]

Been a while

So yeah. I haven’t updated the blog since January, which considering the state of things in the world seems like forever and a day ago. Been a while. Seriously, is it just me who doesn’t remember much from Christmas? So much going on. But anyway, first things first.. a lots going on since the last […]

New Year, New Cover, New Blurb

So.. it’s 2020. 2019 proved to be an interesting year for me in terms of writing. I finally made a book that seems to sell well, though not a blockbuster (yet!) and I want more…

One thing that was bothering me about the book, well several things actually.

The typography. It never seemed to fit right., so I needed a new cover. The blurb didn’t seem to fit right.A few reports still of grammar and word spelling issues that I couldn’t seem to find.

So, I set out to fix them.

I got a new blurb done, with input from others. I’m pretty happy with it now. I signed up for a service to help find those tiny errors I couldn’t track down, and I should get the results of that soon. Thanks authorsxp.com! Side note, if your a writer, really, check them out. Amy is a FANTASTIC person, and tries hard to make sure your happy and they deliver what they can. And unlike a lot of other services for indie authors, you don’t feel like your getting fleeced for your marketing budget!

And finally.. a New Cover. Now I didn’t change the image at all. I did consider it, but I think it still works well. But the cover badly needed new typography. So, without further ado, here’s the ‘new cover’ for Blood of a Fallen God.

Snazzy, right? Love the new cover, and it hits the right notes for an epic dark fantasy novel.

In other news: Working on the sequel to the above, and working on several other ideas and books. My goal for 2020 is to get 3-5 books done this year, new books. And re-release Bridgebreaker to go along with Bridgefinders. I’ve thought about new covers for both of those books as well, but haven’t made any decisions. But I’m beyond happy for the new cover for Blood of a Fallen God.

Happy New Year!

Life in General, Books, Marketing,etc.

Been a bit since I updated the blog, so here is an update. My ‘blog guilt’ got the better of me. Life’s been busy since the last update. Life in general has been busy to be honest. This time of year is always busy, since everyone other than my wife has birthdays in this season, plus my wedding anniversary, and then the holidays.. etc. AND of course, the launch of ‘Blood of a Fallen God’ and finally getting a grip on book marketing somewhat. Maybe. Kind of.

See what I did there? LOL I’m still kind of unsure about the path I’m taking there, but I am trying to figure it out. Advertising is … not my forte. That being all said, the launch of BOAFG has been the best one I’ve ever done. So that’s awesome! I’ll be happy once I finally start getting the money from the sales though, it takes about 2 months to get paid.. *ouch*

On the Life in General.. just navigating the last year of Middle School for kid #1, and the last year of Elementary School for kid #2. Can’t believe I’m going to have a High Schooler next year living in my house, strange. Lot’s of trips to the land of the Mouse (Disney World) in the past year, and even more to come I’m sure. Now if Disney would stop raising the prices on everything I’d be pretty happy. Or at least my credit card and wallet would be happier.

I can’t thank everyone enough who has helped me with this latest book release, and with advice and pointers for Marketing. It’s been a Godsend. (As opposed to the Godsfall.. totally different thing dear reader.) And apparently BOAFG is pretty popular in the UK and Germany for a self pubbed Fantasy novel. Which I find rather amusing. So all in all.. Life in General? It’s going well.

The Godsfall, the day things changed.

So attached is a short, 5 page story. Everything that happens in BOAFG (Blood of a Fallen God) turns on this event which happened centuries before when the book takes place. The story, Godsfall, tells of that day, when the forces of Palnor, met the forces of the Chalzik Horde.

I made the document mostly to help me set the tone for the world. Since it’s a pivotal moment in the world of Alos, I wanted a clear cut vision of it. Now that BOAFG is out for pre-order, I wanted to share it.
