Join the Vanguard of Justice ARC Book Club
Vanguard of Justice is coming out in just a few short weeks (on March 14th, 2023), but you can read my epic mythological pirate fantasy early if you join the Vanguard of Justice ARC Book Club!How does it work?
1.) Sign up for the book club below. This will subscribe you to the book club e-mail list.
2.) Grab your weekly excerpts from Bookfunnel (will arrive at your inbox once a week on Sundays, Central Time)
3.) READ the excerpt before the following Saturday
4.) Attend the weekly live chats to talk about the excerpt OR complete the weekly surveys about the excerpt.
NOTes:
1.) There is NOT a free full-length book file; you'll receive the book in chunks as long as you remain an active participant*
2.) There is NO REVIEW REQUIRED. If you do choose to leave an honest review after completing the book, that is appreciated and helpful, but none are required "in exchange" for a free copy.
3.) This is NOT the "final" version of the book. Your feedback can help me adjust and correct any last-minute non-editing oversights before the book goes live. This means there is a high chance that there will be some 'tweaks' to the version the public receives. ARC book club sign-ups for Vanguard of Justice will close at 11:59pm Central Time on Saturday, February 25th 2023, and are open to anyone age 18 or older in any country that allows downloads from Bookfunnel's website.
Everyone who signs up will be e-mailed the first excerpt on Sunday, February 26th, 2023 (Central Time), with subsequent excerpts to be sent on March 5th and March 12th 2023.
Excerpts will be sent in PDF FORM ONLY (which will be watermarked and coded with your specific ID) directly from Bookfunnel; NOT from me personally. These files are NOT meant to be read on mobile, and will need to be downloaded to an actual computer (laptop/desktop) to pull up correctly. If you cannot download PDFs (or open PDFs) this may not be the ARC team for you this go-round.
Weekly book club calls will take place on Saturdays at 11:30AM Central time via Dialpad (meeting invites will be sent out), a web-based conferencing video software similar to Zoom, but with higher encryption/security than Zoom.. During these calls, I will ask for your feedback on certain aspects of the plot/characters and flow.
If you cannot attend the calls (which is totally fine), you have the option to instead complete the survey sent to you AFTER the call is completed. Only participants who missed the call will receive the survey. The surveys are due by 11:59pm Central time the same day they are sent. Anyone who has not completed the survey before the deadline AND missed the call will be removed from the group.
*Active Participant = A member of the book club who is a.) downloading their files from Bookfunnel (not just 'viewing'), as is tracked using the code imbedded in your file, and b.) is either attending the weekly book club calls OR is taking the weekly book club surveys.
NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY to participate in any way, shape, or form, NOR is any review expected or required in exchange. Your participation in this book club is entirely optional, and will not be impacted by whether or not you have purchased/reviewed my prior works.

The Lords' Gambit Series is shifting to a brand new character and storyline once again in Volume Three:
Vanguard of Justice
, bringing knights, pirates, and assassins together in a high seas mythological fantasy adventure.
Knights
Freya, our newest main character, is the commander of the Order of Holy Knights.
Freya has been tasked with one primary duty: serve as an advisor, right-hand, and protector of Crown Princess Mariabelle, who is set to take her rightful place on the throne at the turning of her twentieth spring.
When the treasonous King Regent schemes to overthrow his niece's right to the throne, Freya stands between the princess she loves and the sure destruction awaiting her people.
Pirates
Pirate King Seba and his crew of shadows about The Celestial's Tears are the terror of both sea and land.
Said to be wraiths, the crew (under the watchful, shadowy eyes of First Mate Caitlin), is loyal to the estranged Prince of the shadow kingdom Kertopa.
When the King Regent of the lords' United Provinces offers Seba an opportunity to finally retake his throne in Kertopa in exchange for whisking Princess Mariabelle away, the Pirate King does not expect a Holy Knight to be the one standing in his way.
Assassins
Pirate or Knight, Princess or Prince those who board The Celestial's Tears never come back the same. Assassins hail from the ship, or at least that's what the legends say.
To return to Kertopa and break a dark curse thousands of years in the making, Freya finds herself making a deal with the shadows themselves to save her Princess, and their entire kingdom.

The Vow That Twisted Fate by Katherine D. Graham is a work of high fantasy. I thought Arlena was brave and gave a lot of herself for the peace and safety of her people. Her relationship with Talon was particularly complex and compelling. The torture scenes were genuinely distressing and I felt strong empathy toward Arlena. There was an overwhelming sense of grief and loss when she returned to find the kingdom had moved on without her. I liked the fact that her generous spirit and willingness to see the best in all creatures were pivotal to the plot. The perspectives of long-lived, short-lived, and mid-lived beings were beautifully delineated and contributed to world-building. I was surprised and intrigued to learn that long-lived races could be the most heedless instead of the wisest but found the logic convincing. The Vow That Twisted Fate by Katherine D. Graham provides a unique perspective and creates a dark and persuasive fairy story."

Introducing My Newest Main Character: Kritinia
Introducing my newest main character: Kritinia! Kritinia was born to the Queen of Light, in secret, at the lord of Light's monastery.
Bearing the sigil of a sun as a birthmark assured her lineage as the lord of Light's heir, but an additional sigil--the lord of Dark's star--meant something much more powerful was at work. Labeled the 'Ultimate Treachery', she was left behind at the monastery to be raised as a boy in the lord of Light's service.
As she grew up, Kritinia dreamed of becoming a Holy Knight--a warrior monk in the Order of Light. She excelled at weapons training, but struggled with science and math. Beyond her studies, though, a single overwhelming choice always weighed on her: Should she continue her deception and take the vows of the Order upon her twentieth spring? Or should she leave the Order to try to find a semblance of a normal life?
Next week, Kritinia is bringing the second volume of The Lords' Gambit Series to life. One of the most exciting parts of writing this series has been bringing a new character's story to each tale. Kritinia, especially, is dear to my heart (I loved her character so much that I chose to use her name as my Fiverr username).
She is witty, generous, and thoughtful.
Quick on her feet, her primary strength in a fight is her nimble unpredictability. Kritinia is not a damsel; she is a life-long trained warrior.
When all she values is lost, and all her convictions come into question, Kritinia's strength may yet have the power to save her kingdom, and the lords themselves.

Book Blogger/Influencer Applications Are Open For Monk of Death!
Monk of Death: The Lords' Gambit Series Volume Two Launches February 14th, 2023 
This application is for:
-Book Bloggers ( Unpaid Only ; I do NOT pay for book reviews, EVER, as per Amazon/Goodreads Terms of Service)
-Bookstagrammers (No minimum following required, but accounts with an average of 5-10% engagement - especially comments - PER POST will be given higher consideration)
-Booktokkers/BookTubers
-Other influencers (artists, craftspeople, etc.)
If your are selected as a member of the Book Blogger/Influencer team for Monk of Death, you will receive:
-1 E-book Copy of Oracle of Life (volume one in the series, in case you missed it) the day your application is accepted.
-1 E-book ARC (Advance Reader Copy) of Monk of Death by February 4th 2023.
-A personalized feature post on all my socials, as well as in one of the e-mails that goes out to ALL of my e-mail subscribers, and a blog feature on my website (Featured posts/e-mail/blog will be scheduled AFTER you post you blog/social media posts sharing the word about Monk of Death).
-Your name/business in the acknowledgements of Vanguard of Justice (Book Three in The Lords' Gambit Series)
-An invitation to speak as a guest at the exclusive Monk of Death Expert Panel live chat on YouTube, to be held in mid-February.

1.) By submitting an application to be a part of Katherine D. Grahams Blogger/Influencer Team, you (if selected) give Katherine D. Graham explicit permission to:
-Mention your name, use your likeness/logos, and share your social media handles/website URL in her own marketing materials with no compensation other than the two free e-books and featured social media/newsletter/blog post mentioned in the above post.
-E-mail you e-book copies of both Oracle of Life AND Monk of Death via Bookfunnel.
2.) By applying to be on this team, you (if selected) agree to do the following:
-READ Monk of Death (reading Oracle of Life may provide more context for you, but is not required to be on the team)
-Post AT LEAST ONE NON-SHARED social media post AND/OR blog post DURING LAUNCH WEEK to spread the word about Monk of Death (DOES NOT have to be a book review). This post should NOT mention any other authors/books (including your own), and must be a 'permanent' post on either your homepage or blog (not 'status updates' or temporary 'stories' posts). These posts may be archived AFTER February 21st, 2023.
3.) Regarding Reviews: It is against Amazon and Goodreads' Terms of Service to "require" a review "in exchange" for a book. It is also against their Terms of Service to provide payment (including via gift cards) in any way that could be considered 'purchasing' a review. As such, reviews are NOT expected NOR required, though they are always helpful and appreciated.
4.) Team members are limited to 10 in total at this time. Active team members who follow these terms & conditions will be given all perks mentioned in this post. Team members who do not a.) download both books within 5 days of the date they are sent from Bookfunnel - which Bookfunnel tracks for me - or b.) post about Monk of Death during launch week (February 14th-21st 2023) waive ALL rights to the perks above, and may be blocked from future promotional teams.
5.) Finally, this is an UNPAID team. My readers rely on genuine posts from resources who are NOT paid, to have share their genuine opinions. If you are a paid promoter/'reviewer', this team is not for you. If you e-mail me requesting payment of any kind at any point, I will send you back these terms/conditions as a reminder. Any request for payment is a complete and utter breach of terms, and will result in losing your right to the perks listed in the post as well as a potential ban from future teams.
