Review of Fear of God
As I told you during my last post, I've been reading a book called
Fear of God
. I finished it yesterday and wanted to share with you what I thought.
Lucas Bishop is a college kid, living in a small town by the mountains. He has a loving mom, who takes care of him and their household, and a workaholic Dad who doesn't spend much time with the family. He lives a normal live, only disturbed by very real and constant nightmares. From one day to the next, his life shatters with a phone call, and the world around him collapses. The town becomes a war zone and the people he knew all his life turn into killing machines, without conscience or remorse. He finds himself hiding with a group of people, not knowing what has happened and trying to survive. Little by little, he discovers what has happened to the town, forcing him to make a decision: whether to remain a kid and hide, or become a man and fight on.
Written in the first person, the author Matthew R. Bell, involves you in the story from the first chapter. His characters are well defined, making you care for them from the moment you meet them. The dialog is entertaining and shows each character's unique personality. The story is full of action which he depicts in a way that makes you feel you are watching a movie. The plot is fluid and doesn't stall with unnecessary explanations or descriptions.
The writing could use some polishing, however this is not a distracting factor. This is a page-turner that kept me hooked. I've already gotten Book 2, Child of Recklessness , and I can't wait to start it.
You can get this book in Amazon and if you don't have a Kindle, you can still read it in your phone with he Kindle Cloud Reader.
Hope you give it a try.
Be safe!... and keep reading

It's been a while...
Hello there! It's been more than a month from my last post. A few things have kept me away and, unfortunately, I cannot promise this won't happen again. Until I write a best seller to make me a millionaire, my alter ego needs to keep holding a full time job. She also likes working out so, there goes a couple more hours a day. I keep telling her that I need to sit and write but lately she's not been paying too much attention to me.
To keep me entertained, I've been working on a promotional plan for Home by the Sea which will unravel in the next few months. On a previous post I mentioned that there was something in the works for which I would need your help. Well, this is it. Basically I will need you to convince all your family and friends to download Home by the Sea during a period of time that I will communicate later. The promotional plan includes some free videos and giveaways for all of you. I will providing more details as days pass, so keep checking back.
The other thing that has kept me busy these past few days is a book by a young author called Matthew R. Bell. He was kind enough to write a review for Home by the Sea which you can read here. He has an action/adventure series of two books called Trials of Strength. I'm half way through book one, Fear of God, and I'm having difficulty putting it down. I will share with you my final thoughts on the book once I'm done, but if you want to start checking it out, you can visit his blog.
As my friend Porky Pig would say "That's all, Folks!" I will do my best to update you sooner than a month but don't wait standing up. In the meantime, be safe and keep reading.

The short story I promised
Hello everyone! First of all, thanks to those who have shared their emails with me. I will be sending you the poll shortly. For those who still want to participate, feel free to contact me at shyreentyler@gmail.com. I've extended the deadline until Sunday February 8th.
Here is the short story I promised. It's a short short story that I wrote for a writing competition. It's kind of dark and for adults only.
Hope you like it! Let me know what you think, either by comment or email.

I need your feedback
Hello there! I'm doing a private poll among all the people that have already read Home by the Sea. If you would like to participate, please send me your email at shyreentyler@gmail.com by Thursday February 5th. I promise it's a very short poll, only five questions.
In return, and as promised a few posts back, I will be sharing another short story that day.
I hope to hear from you. Feel free to drop me a line to participate on the poll or just to say hi.
That's all for now. Be safe and keep reading.

Hunting for reviews
Hey everyone! A couple of posts back I mentioned that I have plans for this year for which I would need your help. I'm still finalizing the details but for now I would like to ask all who have read Home by the Sea to leave a review on the Amazon page if it's not too much trouble.
This is the direct link to leave a review for Home by the Sea. You need to be logged in to Amazon for it to work.
For those who have downloaded Victory, THANKS!!! I hope you are enjoying it. If you are already logged in to Amazon, might as well leave a review for that too. Here is the link. I know, you downloaded Victory from Smashwords and not from Amazon. That's because Amazon doesn't allow to publish free books. However, Amazon has better visibility, thus a review there would be more beneficial.
I truly appreciate your help. Keep in touch as I will be posting a new short story in a couple of weeks.

Free Victory Download!
Hello there! Finally! Victory is ready for FREE download. I know, it took me a while but, as I keep most of my promises, here it is:
VICTORY - FREE Download
This is one of the many gifts I have planned for you this year. Feel free to share it with friends and family, or tell them to come here and get their own copy. While you are at it, remind them to also get a copy of my novel Home by the Sea (see how I added a shameless book promotion there?)
In a couple of weeks I'll be posting another short story for your enjoyment. This one is much shorter, and darker, not suitable for young minds.
Until then, be safe and keep reading.

Happy 2015!
Hi there! Sorry for the long silence. I just realized that the last time I posted was on November, just the week before Thanksgiving.
The holidays kept me away from my duties as a writer. With my mom visiting me from my home country (Venezuela for those who don't know), and me visiting my brother in the wonderful city of London, more than a month passed without even noticing it.
As most humans on Earth, I have made my resolutions for 2015. I kept my list short, with the purpose of accomplishing all of my goals. One of them will require your involvement. I will be posting more information shortly; I just need to work my plan a little further before bringing you in. I hope that when the time comes, I can count on you.
I haven't forgotten about the free download link for Victory. I promise it will be live before the end of January. 2015. I also have plans to post more of these short stories during the year, as a gift to you. Stay tuned.
I wish you all a very productive and healthy 2015. Stay safe, be happy and over all, keep reading.
