The Hate U Give deserves its place as an American classic
Instead of sharing regular reviews here (that will stay on my Goodreads), I’ve decided to highlight my most favoritest of favorite books this year. 😉 I’ve already covered a few, which you can find by clicking the “Favorites” tag. A book I wasn’t ready for The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas released to the world during...Continue reading »

currently reading: The Enchanted Castle
I’m constantly reading something new, and I thought it would be fun to take some time once a week to share my thoughts about what I’m currently reading. (For more real-time updates, check out my Goodreads.) Please note, I do not endorse any of these books until I’ve finished reading them. 😉 My challenge book...Continue reading »

The House for Unwanted Dolls // part one
The short story I wrote last month is finally here! I hope you enjoy part one of this little story. ❤ The dollhouse was a flurry of chores and chatter as the dolls reset everything for the night. The two human girls who shared the loft bedroom were under the impression their doting mother did...Continue reading »

my picks for summer reading
It’s that time again! I’ve been eagerly counting down to the start of June and summer reading. Summer is my least favorite season, but since the weather starts early here in the desert southwest, there might as well be some perks. 😉 Since I’m on a book-buying ban and I hope to read many of...Continue reading »

I played the Tiny Bookshop game demo
TINY BOOKSHOP. It’s as cute as it sounds, eeek. I ran across a trailer for the indie game, now that it has a release date (August 7th!), and immediately fell in love. The community aspects reminded me of Stardew Valley (my favorite), the easy gameplay reminded me of all the shop and bakery simulators I’ve...Continue reading »

meet my books: short stories edition
The last entry in the (short) series about my books is all about my published short stories! (I have a few available on the Short Stories tab of this blog, but I’ll be covering the ones that are available on Kindle.) Red Boots During my short stint (years ago) in college, I took a creative...Continue reading »

May: a wedding, book hauls, and Doctor Who
May, and the last strains of spring, flew by! Early in the month, we traveled out of state for my sister-in-law’s wedding. It was so nice to visit that side of the family again, catch up with everyone and meet all the new, squishy babies, and watch such a wonderful woman join her life with...Continue reading »

the unread book tag
I, um, really needed to go on this book-buying ban. I have a Goodreads shelf where I add books I own and want to read, so I have a general idea of how many I have and how to prioritize them. By my last semi-accurate count (which doesn’t include all my ebooks but a lot...Continue reading »

my next book has a cover!
I’ve been sitting on this for a few weeks now, but A Dream of Family (Kenaz #2) has a cover and it’s the cutest bean I’ve ever seen and I’m so excited for this book and the best way to show my excitement is with this run-on sentence and I hope you like the cover...Continue reading »
