SAILORS DELIGHT

Here's the hook for my new novel, SAILORS DELIGHT:

When his ship leaves Pearl Harbor for war in the Persian Gulf, Christopher Marlow stays behind on medical hold. This means surfing all day and clubbing all night, that is when he’s not at the hospital getting his head and his heart examined.

Read the first two chapters here to see if you like it:

SAILORS DELIGHT will be published on July 4th, 2015 and the price is $2.99. You can place a preorder here:

Thank You Readers!

THE PIRATE was free on Amazon on Aug 22 & 23, and it turned out to be a great giveaway!

Over 150 readers downloaded THE PIRATE, five people bought SAILORS TAKE WARNING and twelve people bought SIXTY-FOUR DAYS. Several wrote 5-Star reviews on Amazon and Goodreads (thank you). As a result, THE PIRATE shot up to just under #700 on the Amazon Kindle best seller list for thrillers and mysteries.

To me this is very impressive, because there are millions of books on Amazon and this rally drove THE PIRATE up from obscurity and into those "Readers Also Bought . . . " advertisements that folks all over the world see when they browse for books on Amazon.

This entire effort showed me for a fact that readers in Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada and the US are interested in sea stories with Sci-Fi, Horror, Mystery-Thriller, Crime, Erotic and Love-Story twists.

To all my shipmates on land and at sea, I hope you enjoy THE PIRATE and my other books. As an independent author I rely completely on your kind support and I urge you to PLEASE return to Amazon and Goodreads and write reviews for all my books that you enjoy.

Sincerely,

Malcolm Torres

Sailor's Delight Preview Available

Ahoy Shipmates,

Since publishing Sailors Take Warning, I have been hard at work on my next book. Sailor's Delight is a completely different story set in the same universe of the US Navy, Western Pacific Ocean, sailors and Aircraft Carriers. Unlike Sailors Take Warning which took place almost entirely at sea aboard ship, Sailor's Delight takes place almost entirely on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. Also, where Sailors Take Warning had a cast of over 20 characters all competing for the main character spot, Sailor's Delight focuses entirely on Christopher Marlow who has stayed behind at Pearl Harbor after his ship, the USS Enterprise, leaves for the war zone in the Persian Gulf.

Sailor's Delight will be published later in 2014. Sample chapters are available at the back of both the print and eBook edition of Sailors Take Warning from Amazon and iBooks. Free samples of the opening chapters are available here:

5-Star for SAILORS TAKE WARNING by Malcolm Torres

G. Fleck in Oregon gave 5-Stars to Sailors Take Warning and said: "After reading about 20 pages, I found myself trapped aboard the USS Nimitz, far from land with a crew of salt-of-the-earth men and women. I read as fast I could because I was dying to find out what would happen. I really cared about first responder Kate Conrad and deckhand Terrance McDaniels, especially when I realized that the first 100 pages was just a gigantic trap that I walked right into. I guarantee that you've never read a book with a setting, characters or a plot like this. The crew--even the scoundrels and scallywags who work deep below decks in the bowels of the ship--bring this modern sea story to life. If Jack London popped up in 2014, he'd write something like this. A great thriller; I highly recommend it. "

4-Star Review for Sailors Take Warning

Brad V. aka "Verno in VA" wrote a 4-Star Review for SAILORS TAKE WARNING on Amazon: "I am also a retired U.S. Navy sailor though from a different era. It is my opinion that if the book was more technically accurate, the average person would not understand what Malcolm was saying and people familiar with the Naval jargon would dismiss it as another guy's day at work. I think the story was excellent for the genre even if the writing was not like Stephen King. Again, not a bad read for a first novel. Additionally, much more popular authors infrequently hit it out of the park on their first try. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and thought the story was inventive. I'm looking forward to Malcolm's next work! Go Navy!" www.bit.ly/MTpress2

4-STAR Review for Sailors Take Warning

Australian Book Reviewer Philip Newey gives SAILORS TAKE WARNING a 4-Star review on Amazon. Along with some constructive criticism, Newey says he found the writing to be of a reasonably good quality and he wanted to know what was going to happen to the characters. Read the entire review and download the Book for only $2.99 on Amazon right here www.bit.ly/MTpress2
