FREE WEBINAR: How to Get on TV

“How do I get on TV”
As a senior TV news producer for nearly 20 years that is a question I’m asked a lot.
Honestly it’s not as difficult as you would think.
You don’t have to have special credentials, you don’t have to have a PR person or have a huge social media following — but what you do need to know is what the media is looking for.
If you are trying to get on TV, in magazines, on radio, etc. sometimes it’s more about what not to do!
OMG – in my career I can’t even tell you how many...

Plan Mini Destination Trips to Recharge and Rejuvenate

I recently wrote a post on the importance of making time for myself now that I work from home. When your home is also your office it’s not easy to make as clear boundaries with your time. In the comments section of that post a friend and regular reader, Sandra Keros, wrote that she likes to plan mini destinations to get out of her head and out of her apartment. What a great idea!
Since I loved it so much I got in touch with Sandra to talk more about her mini destinations and what she does. T...

(VIDEO) Priorigami App Helps to Prioritize Your To-Dos
I’m always on the lookout for new list-making apps that do more than just store your lists. Helpful, productivity-based apps are not always that easy to come by. Which is why I was excited when I first discovered Priorigami.
The founder of the app, Monisha Longacre was inspired by her love of the Fitbit, and brought its goal-driven style to her productivity app. I was so impressed I arranged a video chat with Monisha to discuss her app and how it can help people prioritize their day.

Wouldn’t it be nice to make some money off delayed flights?

I belong to a mastermind group for entrepreneurs and business owners and they meet twice a year in a great locations. This time it was in Tucson, Arizona.
Of course the day I was leaving NYC there was a snowstorm and I was connecting through Atlanta. Because of a tiny bit of ice…the whole city of Atlanta closed down

Tune In For My Radio Show
Since I started ListProducer.com and wrote Listful Thinking I’ve been on my fair share of radio shows. It’s a nice way to meet new people, many of whom are often list makers themselves. Plus I always find we have really interesting conversations about what it really means to be more productive.
Although I’ve spent my career in television I like to think I know a bit about radio. My husband Jay works for CBS Sports Radio so I must have learned a little bit through the years!
So when Terri...

A Better Way to Deal With Customer Service Calls

When many people talk about being more efficient they think in terms of HOURS saved. But as it’s just as important to save precious MINUTES where possible too, after all it all adds up.
I hate waiting on hold for customer service. Who doesn’t, right? It’s such a time suck. I thought I had found the perfect solution to bypass this pesky problem. It was an app called FastCustomer. I’d been recommending it and using it for years! Some of you may have even tried it because of me.
Well guess wh...

New Way of Making Lists That Entrepreneurs Will Love

Three months ago I took the plunge, I quit my day job and started working for myself full time media training and coaching experts, authors and entrepreneurs and producing videos and podcasts with them. I’ve had a great time since I left Fox News — I spoke at the PRSA Tri-State Conference for PR professionals, been interviewed by Peter Shankman about listmaking and started a radio show (more on that later!)
But since I’ve made the crossover to becoming self employed, I’ve had to make a few a...

Is My Meeting Scheduler Making Me Rude?

Since I quit my job and went out on my own as a media trainer and coach helping experts, authors and entrepreneurs create videos and podcasts there’s one productivity site I’ve been using all the time. It’s called Schedule Once. It’s connected to my calendar and allows clients to schedule time to chat with me. It’s brilliant!
Old fashioned scheduling involves a lot of back and forth, Schedule Once makes everything much more streamlined. Clients can quickly go to my page, see when I’m free a...

5 Productive Gifts to Give a List Maker
It’s sort of a point of pride for me that I don’t like to just buy people gifts for the sake of buying gifts. I like to find presents that will really mean something to a person. It’s why I keep a list of gift ideas for people throughout the year, to make sure I’m giving them the best gift possible.
But sometimes, I still get stuck!
Some people can be very difficult to buy for or they don’t give you much inspiration for gift ideas. Christmas is nearly upon us so if you haven’t got someone a...

The One Priority You Should Be Focusing On

We’re part way through December and the holiday season is truly upon us, all the store fronts are decorated, the malls are pumping Christmas music and Hanukkah begins tomorrow! The thing about December is that it’s easy to get overwhelmed, to commit to too many social engagements or get too many presents for people you don’t really know that well!
As you know I’m a big fan of essentialism and I’ll be treating this holiday season exactly the same. My recommendation would be to think of the one...
