My Spiritual Path
I am frequently asked how I, as a Sunday school teaching, choir singing, young Christian male got interested in and involved in spirituality? The FULL story goes back to my early youth. When I was 29, and fully involved in Christianity I met a woman during a sales call who actually had a real-life haunted house. Being a bit of a spiritual newby with no experience, I was intrigued. When she asked if I could help her, I asked: "Why are you asking me?" Her response was "I don't know, I just felt like I should." This moment totally changed the rest of my life. I told her I would try and help. She said she would check with her husband and give me a call. This was the first, but certainly not the only event that began my transformation. Up until now.
Up Until Now by Ray Fraser
Society accepts January 1st as a time for new beginnings, it has been that way for centuries. People make resolutions designed to alter different areas of their life, many use that time to stop bad habits. Why all this focus on change? Perhaps it is because people are not satisfied with their life’s position or direction, so they vow to make a change. Why wait for January 1st?
When I was in pastoral college, I learned a new and exciting phrase, “Up until now.” This phrase means you no longer have to wait till January 1st - that literally every second of your life can be a moment of change. For example, you may be like many other people, who spend their entire paycheck the moment they receive it. Now you can say, “up until now” I didn’t set any money aside for savings. Starting with my next pay period, I’m going to put 10% of my check in a bank account for future needs. Or “up until now” I used to smoke 2 packs of cigarettes a day, starting now and effective every week, I will reduce my cigarette usage by 50% until I no longer smoke at all. Or lastly, “up until now” I haven’t spent much time with my family, starting today I’m going to set aside prime time to spend with them on a regular basis. All these are just examples of challenges that people face when trying to redefine their lives. Our spirit guides will work with us, encouraging us to make the right change and offer us the support to see it through.
“Up until now” can be a catch phrase in your life. For example, “Up until now” I used to wait till January 1st to make changes in my life. Starting today, I will make changes in my life when I sense they are needed. For most people change is a difficult function. Yet it is through change that we find release and redefine who and what we are. Success comes from having the courage to do things that you don’t have the courage to do. Change requires courage. Many changes seem insurmountable, but once you start things in motion, destiny will step in and guide you to the safest and most expedient path to complete your change. Most people after they have completed a change, look back on the effort and say, “that wasn’t so hard, why did I wait so long to do this.”
Don’t be one of the millions of individuals that wait so long to make the change your heart desires. Fear can cause people to hesitate, when it is actually overcoming the fear that will set them free. Make a decision for yourself out of LOVE instead of fear and you will be amazed at the outcome. Some people dream their whole lives of something, but wait to take action. Why wait to make improvements to your life? If your car or home needed the improvement, we would surely make it happen. Give your life the same courtesy.
Recently, I made a significant change moving from the Detroit area to Seattle, Washington, and closing my storefront business, Mystiques-West on Ford Road in Westland, Michigan, after 22 years. Once my family made the decision, spirit stepped in and guided many of the changes that made the move seamless. As things fell in to perfect place, I knew this change was destined to be. I am extremely happy with our move and can’t believe we waited so long to make it. This change has caused me to enjoy my life more completely, while sparking my creativity.
Personally, I faced an up until now moment myself, for not spending enough time promoting my 7 books. Kindred Flock Synopsis
Kindred Flock
Synopsis
There is a spiritual world. It is a world of many dimensions. In the higher dimensions spirits are loving and benevolent. In the lower dimensions, they are more violent and sinister. Kyle Washington lives in the sinister realms.
A little-known fact is that spirits can return to the Earth almost at will. For the most part, they observe, send love, and are basically unobtrusive. Occasionally, a spirit from the lower realms ventures back to the physical world. Unlike their loving brothers and sisters, they come back only to wreak havoc.
Kyle Washington was banished to the lower realms after his previous encounter with Sean Thomas and the spirit mediums, But, there was a flaw in the ritual that was used to send him there. That mistake allowed Kyle to once again return to physical form. This time he brought reinforcements, in the form of two evil spirits, one of whom was the man who kidnapped, raped and murdered Sean’s friend Jerry’s fiancé years earlier.
Life for Sean Thomas and his family and friends returned to normal for 7 years following Kyle’s banishment. At least things seemed routine until the day the man standing in front of his desk shook his hand and said “Of course you know me, Sean, my name is Kyle Washington.” Sean’s life then became anything but routine, as he was thrust into the darker energies of the afterlife and discovers a dark connection between Kyle and his current wife, Gale. Kyle had returned seeking revenge on those who banished him using an ancient Voodoo ritual known as Le Change. Sean again sought the assistance of spirit medium Ada Graham only to find that the ritual could not be repeated and her ill health would prevent her from offering any further assistance.
Sean didn’t know but learned that there is a higher order of spiritual discipline
for the Earth and our universe who are known as ‘The Kindred Flock’ These highly advanced spirit entities have the responsibility of ensuring spiritual balance and righteousness in the universe. They are also known as the ‘High Council’. Sean’s naiveté’ regarding all things spiritual hampers their early assistance, but Sean is a quick study and rapidly learns the ways of spirit. This garners the trust and support of the High Council members. It is only with their support and network that Sean is able to finally rid the Earth of Kyle and his cronies and thus save mankind from extinction.
There are many unknown facts associated with our understanding of the spirit world. Dare we go there? Come with Sean Thomas as he takes you through the known and the unknown. Kindred Flock will leave you with only one hope, that the ending of the story is true.

Who's in my books?
I have a friend who gave me a t-shirt which reads "Careful, or you'll end up in my novel." It is one of my favorite shirts, in part because when I wear it someone always asks if I am really a writer. I have many characters whose names are taken from real people in my life. However, everyone has a chance to be in my stories because I am always looking for that someone or something different that will catch attention or be memorable. Unique situations also end up in my stories. While much of my inspiration comes from things that I have personally encountered, I am also a good student of life and I'm always on the lookout for something that can be molded into an interesting possibility. These include names, actions, and events. People often see a bit of themselves in my stories, because my stories are often based on the realities of life, read on and enjoy.

Why people like my books
People ask me if my stories are true. This is because the stories are based in part on actual experiences I have had as a professional Spirit Medium for the last 45 years. Also, I extensively investigate my sites and secondary characters. For example if I reference a restaurant at 12th and Main in one of my stories and you go to that city and locate 12th and Main, the restaurant would actually be there. Another example, in Family of Angels I have a police chase taking place on the Stemmons Freeway. Thanks to the Dallas PD, the officer making the chase is actually a working Dallas officer who has the Stemmoms Freeway as his patrol. This attention to detail adds realism to the plot themes. Please read and enjoy, but remember even with the facts, my stories ARE fiction.

About me Ray Fraser and my protagonist, Sean Thomas
In addition to being an author, I am also a professional Spirit Medium, connecting clients with their deceased loved ones for the past 45 years. As the owner of a psychic reading center for the past 23 years, many of my story plots and ideas reference experiences similar to those which I have had during these endeavors.
My protagonist, Sean Thomas is a compilation of many cool people I have known in my lifetime. His stats are real and he truly is a 'man's man'. Sean is a 2nd-degree black belt in Japanese Shito Ryu Karate, local golden gloves boxing champion, a high school football star and a decorated war hero. All the guys wish they were like him and women want to meet and fall in love with him. Sean prides himself on being a one-woman man and in his integrity, honesty, sensitivity, and commitment. Throughout the series of books, Sean gains spiritual knowledge, confidence, experience, and ability and ultimately becomes the GO-TO-GUY for the angel hierarchy.
