Twisted Tales and Other News
Summer's gone but my ambitions are not.....Although I did spend 99.9% of my free time painting and focusing on the artistic side of my madness this year....it is now time to switch gears again and get back into clicking away at my keyboard. I have two new books in the works.....7 Minutes Till Heaven (which I have previously discussed in other blogs) and Outside the Box....a hodgepodge collection of short stories designed to keep you on the edge of your seat and guessing until the very last pages. Originally, 7 Mins was set to be completed first, but a slew of crazy ideas took shape in my head in recent months and it now looks like Outside the Box will be scheduled for release right around the holidays.......which will make it the perfect gift for the occasional spooky story reader in your family.
Outside the Box will contain five brand spanking new, never before seen shorts, several of my fifty word stories, the original short to H. A. Carter, and a partridge in a pear tree......okay, okay....the partridge is still to be determined but the pear tree is a go ;)
I am so excited for this project to come to light. Some of these stories are nearly a decade old, still brushing the dust off their letters, and some are just off the wall zany ideas that recently struck me. I.e.....a torture and murder gone awry in the local morgue....witnessed through the eyes of the jolly little fly who's just hanging out trying to grub on some dead fat ladies......or perhaps my older rough and tumble tale about a couple of gangsters out on some business runs who get mixed up with a deadly game of show me yours or you die, might suit your fancy better.....either way....these are some incredibly fun psychological reads that I hope you will enjoy reading as much as I have enjoyed writing. Until then.....Happy Reading, Friends!

Heaven and Moonlight
So I took a wee bit of a break from the writing game the last few months....at least that's what I've been telling myself. Along with writing...I'm a mom...I have a full time job...and I'm an artist....let's just say...my idea of a vacation is sitting in the tub with the door locked and music turned up....secretly hoping my house is not destroyed when I get out. However busy I have been, I've still found inspiration for a new book that I'm excited to piece together in the future. In the past writing has involved a great deal of tears and working through emotional trauma in the form of fictional characters on my screen. I've never been one to write about love and writing about hope in my last book was an exceptional challenge....but much like the beginning of other great stories comes the term....I met a boy. I can't really say that I "met" him as we've been friends for years, but I did find love in the simplest act of taking someone's hand in the moonlight on a chilly autumn night....and never looking back. Now as I keep moving forward...my muse has been all aflutter with endless possibilities....therein lies my newest lyrical venture..."7 Minutes Till Heaven". A tale of love, reflection, and how the most seemingly insignificant choices in our lives can change everything. You'll follow Charlie Brenner as he relives those little moments in life that we often take for granted....moments of laughter...sorrow...romance...pride...and love....all set during the last 7 minutes of his life.
I'm super excited about this new project....I hope you are too :). Happy Reading, Friends!

Cheers to Happy Endings and New Beginnings
Hello, Friends!!
My entire plan upon finishing White Feather was to relax and take it easy on the writing for awhile...sometimes the type of work I do gets emotionally exhausting to say the least. However, sometimes plans change....and boy did they change. I've been flooded daily with all sorts of ideas....unique, brilliant, gruesome, heartwarming, crazy ideas. So what, pray tell, do I do with these ideas??? Short answer....lots of sticky notes. Long answer...lots more books in the works!
I have a short story collection I've been delving into lately that will consist of off the wall, out of the box type stories that have several twists and turns. Also, because I am such an avid Stephen King fan, be on the lookout for little Easter eggs here and there that will tie into my other books....no spoilers just yet ;). This short collection will also include some of my older work that I wrote waaaaay back in my college days as well as the original, award winning, "3 Years Later" short story I wrote in high school that inspired "H. A. Carter".
If you're a fan of my Facebook page, starting tomorrow (Friday), I will be posting 50 Word Friday stories each week. These little gems will be 50 word stories (No more, no less) of random themes, points of view, and perspectives....just fun little tidbits to keep both my creativity and your imagination happy campers.
I also want to say a huge Thank You to all of my readers lately!! It was a long two years getting White Feather off the ground, much less finished, but I'm grateful for all of the support and for those who have read it and loved it already. My work is always very personal to me, and I put a lot of emotion into every word written...so it warms my heart when I hear how much my readers enjoy my crazy mixed up stories. White Feather was one of the toughest books I have written to date. I cried, laughed, cried again, felt overwhelming joy, and cried some more through the whole thing. If "H. A. Carter" was my Mona Lisa..."A White Feather Falls" is my Sistine Chapel...long and laborious...full of individual stories of triumph and heartache...but joined together to form a far grander picture than I could have imagined at the time. I'm truly proud of that book...I only hope you enjoy reading it as well. :)
So....until next, Folks, thanks again for tuning in. Remember to check out my author page on Facebook (Kimberly Fuller, Author) and, as always, Happy Reading!

It's Summer!!
FINALLY summer break is upon me....sort of. Although my day job is on pause until the fall, I still have a ton of work to do. One main job is to get "A White Feather Falls" out there! My projected release is set for July/August!! I'm getting uber excited to share it with the world!! When everything is edited and formatted I should have a better grasp on an exact date. My facebook page will conduct a giveaway and I'll be taking any questions during that time as well. Also, I'll be hosting an interview with my friend and fellow author, Christina Butrum on her charming Fairshore Series (available on amazon.com). That will be happening in the coming weeks so stay tuned to read all about her and her books! I have a few signed copies of "H. A. Carter" and "The Devil's Monologue" available locally at 225 Artisan Gallery in Amana, Ia. The pretty paintings there are also mine too ;). Until next time....Stay cool, My friends and as always....Happy Reading!

Spring BREAK!!!
Not too much to actually report on as far as progress goes for White Feather....lame, I know. My writing time has recently been spent on paintings and drawings.....which I'm still cool with. Luckily, over the last month I did sit down and outline the entirety of White Feather as well as the next novel in the series....so...when I actually get my arse to sit down and type....at least I have a map. I will still continue to post quotes from the previous two books in the series on my Facebook page and any randomness I see fit...feel free to check it out anytime! Also, I will be answering any questions you might have about any of the books in the series here or on Facebook, so if you ask it....I will tell it....or as much as I can. Until next time, Friends, I will be basking in the warmish Iowa weather until my alarm clock forces me to get up for work. As always....Happy Reading!

The New Guy...and then some.
I've been snail pacing along with White Feather for well over two years now. Finally, I feel like I'm making some headway towards finishing this beast. My main focus has been giving Joanna hope and purpose after what went down at Stillwater High. She has lost her direction, lost her confidence, and lost her humanity much like Harvey and JJ. The great difference between them and her, much like real estate, is location, location, location. Along with her new digs is, my new favorite character, Mr. E. I've hinted at Mr. E. a great deal on Facebook/twitter on the H. A. Carter page. He is her mentor, her conscience. He is the driving force behind her ever changing world. I am super excited to introduce him to my followers. When this metaphorical Sistine Chapel of mine is finally revealed, please pay very close attention to the man behind the curtain. Another major boost to the series is in the hands of another new character. She is not the great sage and voice that Mr. E. will be, but in the long run, she is the bumpy road that will bring this series home in the end. I have just begun to bring her to life, so for now, all I can give you is a name.....
"Wren."
"Like the bird?"
"No. Like my name."
"Wren."

"No. Like my name."

New this year...
One of my goals is to focus more on my author side this year (I'm a jack of all trades....it gets messy and confusing...just bear with me..). One of my first steps was creating my author page on Facebook (Kimberly Fuller, Author...look me up!). Easy peesy. Next will be rereading/editing what I've written so far for White Feather. Which, much to my surprise, is actually halfway done. Once I started putting the jumbled mess of randomness together I was much farther than I thought. Minus any inconvenient trauma drama that may occur (you all know by now that my life is crazy as *expletive*). I hope to have the manuscript completed and finalized by Spring and available to the public by Summer/Fall (insert happy dance). Also on the old to do list is a short story compilation I've been slowly adding to over the years. These will be a little off the wall, psychological junk food for lovers of unusual personalities. A short about a serial killer's confession in a suicide note, a mob duo caught in a Saw type trap, and a murder mystery with a dissociative identity disorder twist are all to be included. Can you tell abnormal psych was a favorite class? More details with that once White Feather is completed! I have a ton of work ahead of me and my plate is overflowing....it's a good thing I'm always hungry ;). Happy Reading, Friends!

About that goal.....
So....the new year is upon us...and I have yet to finish that third book (thanks, Life..). I'm once again going to make that a part of my resolution. In the past I have done a fairly decent job of accomplishing the goals I set out. I've written two other books, started my own art studio, lost some of those pesky pounds, and managed to still keep my sanity (sort of..) at the end of the day. This year is going to look a little different. My other resolutions are simple and might seem meaningless to anyone else but me, but when your heart is mending...sometimes the only goal is just to glue back one piece at a time. So here goes....
1. Finish that book...for the love of god...finish the book.
2. Get out of bed...get dressed...and do *something every day no matter how I feel.
3. Hug my kids as much as possible (or as much as they will let me...sometimes Mom is not as cool as she thinks ).
4. Read.
5. Listen.
6. Do what is right, even if it hurts. 7. Drink more water and less red bull (yeah yeah...we all know I have a problem...but..it's just..it tastes like a lazer!)
8. Do at least one thing for myself every day (even if that means sneaking the last ice cream bar into the bathroom and locking the door...don't judge..)
9. Save room for pie (you can never go wrong with pie).
10. No matter how sad I am...no matter how dark my day is...breathe and ride the storm. My tears will fall, my heart will ache, but tomorrow is just around the corner...ready to be better.
Best of luck on your own goals, Friends. As always...Happy Reading.

Out with the new.....
Some of my closest friends know this dirty little secret.....my entire life's work rests int he confines of a green Tony Hawk skateboard usb and a beat up old macbook missing several keys ( I swear I didn't do it......okay...maybe I did....but my coffee helped!). My life, as always, survives in constant chaos...I'm sure I've mentioned this fact a time or two. Even within the last 48 hours I've had to deal with broken bones, sick kids, a flat tire, and the worst part....being completely out of red bull. I never mind the chaos....usually I thrive in it. Keeping my heart pumping and my adrenaline rushing is all apart of living. So, those rare few cases in which I do get to just sit down and spew my guts out onto the keyboard are moments that I cherish. I wrote my first novel, mostly in the quiet of the late night, with nothing more than a clicky dell keyboard to converse with the characters in my head. I wrote my second novel much the same way. Since then, I've gotten rid of the old desktop and done all of my writing on the above mentioned hot mess of a laptop. Over the course of the last year, I've chalked up my inability to finish this current novel due to family trauma, work, distractions, etc. You know how life happens when you're busy making plans. Digging in my closet the other day, I came upon the fossil of a keyboard that got me through those nights at my desk. The keyboard that spoke to me and for me through my characters. The keyboard that brought my story to life. EPIPHENY!!! Yep, I hooked that sucker right up to my macbook and have happily been clicking away lately. New fangled objects and pieces of technology can be great....but sometimes it takes an old friend to get the job done. I might not finish the novel by the end of the year like I had once hoped, but you better believe I've got a fighting chance now that I've got Clicky in my corner. Happy Reading, Friends!
