Teaser Countdown – 9 days to Go!
Partying on Facebook Today!
We interrupt our regularly scheduled graphic teaser countdown to tell you that today I will be spending time at a Facebook event party for C. B. Williams who is celebrating the release of her Sky Dancers book. The event is from 9am to 9pm EST. No, you don’t have to spend all day there, but drop in if you get a chance. There will be giveaways and guest authors throughout the day. I am posting at 10 am and then will come back to the event in the afternoon and evening to say ‘hi’.
I’ll be talking a bit about my series and Shifter Wars coming out on November 17th.
One lucky commenter on my posts will win an ecopy of Shifter Wars! Please don’t make me talk to myself all day on FB, it will be sad if that happens…
And no worries, I will be posting a teaser later today.

Shifter Wars Cover Reveal!
I am so excited to share my newest cover with you. Take a gander below for the third book in my series and check out the blurb below! Shifter Wars’s release date is Monday, November 17th, but it is available for preorder now.
Preorder: Amazon
Blurb:
Why did the demon cross the road? Apparently to escape from Kyle McKinley. Which is more than fine with her.
The last thing she wants is to be dragged into another supernatural crisis, but the Fates have something more interesting in store for her. Since the tricky wenches love to mess with people, Kyle isn’t really surprised. And once she learns Trina, the young shifter girl whose memory she erased, is being stalked again, Kyle will do whatever it takes to protect her.
Normally a secretive group, the shifters reluctantly agree to allow Kyle and her vampire and demon teammates to investigate. Are the poachers who kidnapped Trina back for revenge? But when other shifters are also targeted, Kyle becomes convinced there is more to the attacks than vengeance. And when the violence escalates and Griffin, the enigmatic leader of the shifters, ends up in the crosshairs, the team braces for a bloodbath.
Scrambling to identify the mysterious group bent on destroying the shifters, and why, Kyle is also haunted by dreams and painful flashes from the prophesied Key of Knowledge which has taken up residence in her brain. In typical Kyle fashion, she decides to ignore it, but the more she ignores it, the more it digs its claws into her consciousness. If she can’t learn to embrace the Key and ask for help from those closest to her, she could lose her sanity before she’s able to prevent a shifter civil war.

So you have all been patiently waiting to see my costume, so without further adieu, here it is! Do you get it? Think about it for just a moment…there it is! I’m Velma from Scooby Doo. :)
I decided to be Velma this year since she is all about solving the mystery and is the true brains in the bunch. My version of a ‘shout out’ to Kyle and my Mind Sweeper series which is all about the mystery and the fun. Only in my world, the monsters are real…boo ha ha
Costume has been a hit at work, although everyone keeps calling me Daphne!
So what do you think? Is this a good costume this year?

A Writer’s Surreal Moments
Now that I have been officially published for over a month (yahoo), I thought I would share some of my experiences so far. In many ways they have been amazing and surreal at the same time.
I finally have people who are not my immediate family and friends reading my books. And they are rooting for my characters as much as I do. To my surprise (or maybe not since I love him too) I have a large number of fans who love, love, love my pastry-eating, tv-addicted, Shamat demon, Misha. Who would have thunk it?
And I have had people tell me, or write in reviews that they couldn’t put the book down…that they stayed up late into the night reading…that they can’t wait until the next book. And I am humbled by their responses. Because I have been that excited reader lost in a world that I don’t want to emerge from. And now I have been lucky enough to share my world with others.
Recently, a writer friend of mine texted me as she was reading one of my books. She kept typing ‘LOL’ and then she would quote one of my lines. Talk about weird. Having your own lines quoted back to you.
Yesterday I went to a meeting and ran into a fellow writer who pulled out her kindle from her purse, turned it on and said.” Look what I was reading before I went to bed last night.” And she showed me my book. I smiled as butterflies fluttered in my stomach.
And my biggest surreal moment so far? This past weekend, I had my Halloween costume party which has become an annual ritual in my neighborhood. And over the years, my neighbors have come up with some amazingly creative costumes. So this year, when one of my neighbors showed up at my door with a plastic brain on her head and a small vacuum cleaner tied around her neck, I racked my brain (no pun intended) trying to figure out what she was. All I could come up with was ‘brain-sucker’. Lame, I know, but hello, she had a plastic brain sitting on top of her head.
And then my other neighbors showed up, looked at her and announced, “Oh my God, you’re a Mind Sweeper.” And I screamed and hugged her which was awkward since 1) I should have been able to figure out the costume and 2) she still had the vacuum cleaner hanging around her neck.
And I was humbled. To have my work inspire a Halloween costume! Wow. Needless to say, she won the costume contest this year, and I didn’t even have to stuff the ballot box.
So this is my surreal list after my first month as a published author. I know that the list will grow and I will share more with you as time goes on. And of course, I want to thank all of you for giving me and Kyle’s story a chance…so surreal.

Guest Blog: How My Obsession Fed My Writing
I am a Halloween junkie. For those of you who have known me for longer than a day, you are well aware of this. As we head closer to my favorite holiday, I felt it was appropriate to write a blog about it. Today, I am running a guest post on Seven Scribes about my version of a ‘Permanent Halloween’.
Come take a gander. See what the OCD is all about! To read it, click HERE.
