New Covers and Free Book
As promised, I’m going to show you the new covers for the first three books in the series. Let’s be honest here. When the heroes of the first three stories – Misha, Aleksei, and Sergei – found out that the 4th and 5th books in the series were getting shiny new covers, there was no way they were staying out of the party.
So they ALL got new covers. And I love, love, love the new covers.
So let’s start with Misha’s book, Demons Will Be Demons. And even better, to celebrate the two new releases this summer, for a limited time Misha is FREE at the retailers. So if you haven’t started this series, why not check out Misha’s book now!
But first – let’s take a moment to admire the new cover!

When missions go awry…
Misha Sokolov is one frustrated demon. While his professional life with the Bureau of Supernatural Relations is rewarding, his romantic prospects are far more challenging.
When Misha finally meets an amazing demon female who could be The One, Fate conspires against him. With the escalating tensions between the earth and realm demons, and his newest case involving supernatural seven-year-old twins, he’s too busy for romance.
Callie, a human female, can’t seem to convince her half-demon sons that using their powers in front of humans is a bad thing. The more time Misha spends with her, the more he realizes she’s keeping secrets. When these secrets jeopardize both her and her sons, Misha will stop at nothing to keep them safe. Because instead of conspiring against him, Fate may have put a spunky, green-eyed woman and her incorrigible sons in his path for a reason.

Home is where the demon heart is…
Marrick is one serious demon. As the leader of the realm guard, he’s spent his life protecting the world from banished demons. Now he’s helping those same demons travel to earth to start over again.
On a visit to earth, he meets nurse Sam, a demon female who wears her heart on her sleeve. An empath, Marrick keeps his own emotions buried away. But the more time he spends with Sam, the more he wonders if he can open his own heart and start over as well.
Until someone sabotages the realm portal to stop the demon immigration, injuring Marrick in the process. When Sam steps up to help him, they both end up trapped in the realm.
Marrick vows to get Sam home again. Can he keep his promise, even if it means sacrificing his heart and life in the process?

The Demons of Summer Are Here!
I know, I know, I’ve spent months talking about my new books that would be coming out in my Realm series and it is finally time! Since Memorial Day here in the states is next week and that officially kicks off summer (at least in my eyes) it’s time to reveal who you can spend your summer reading time with!
I will be releasing Demons In The Rough on June 21st and Demons Just Want To Have Fun on July 12th! Both are being set up for preorder as I type this, so go check it out if you’re anxious. I’ll share the retailer links with you soon too!
Originally The Realm series was supposed to be a trilogy about three demon brothers finding their mates. I loved writing their stories and introducing readers to their wacky family. Spending time with them was so much fun that I wanted to share some more stories with you and so books 4 and 5 were born!
But I didn’t want the brothers in the first three books to be left out of the celebration, so they got shiny new covers. And boy, oh boy, do these covers ROCK. So over the next few weeks, I will be sharing them with you!
And we’ll be celebrating summer with this extended demon clan! Fun, fun, fun!

Brothers and Sisters – Some Things Never Change
I had a treat this past week. I got to spend some time with my brother who I haven’t actually seen for over a year now due to the world we’ve been living in. But we have both been vaccinated, so we got to spend some quality time together.
I was excited to see him and wondered what it would be like. Sure, we’d talked on the phone and texted each other, but it was going to be different, right?
Yes and no. I was surprised at how fast everything fell back into place. We sat down and talked, and talked, and talked. And we also laughed and picked at each other too. It doesn’t matter how old we are, we still have to give each other grief.
Even though we hadn’t been together, we fell into step again. That can been said about a lot of things. Writing as well. I’m always amazed when I ebb and flow when it comes to my writing. I sometimes think I’ll never get a story done and then something clicks for me and I begin seeing the scenes and characters in my head. And I start writing once again.
I might have mentioned this in the past, but BOTH my father and brother are amazing oral storytellers. They can weave a tale and make you laugh as they embellish what happened. I informed them that I have the storyteller gene too, except I turned my imagination into a business! But then I’ve always been a bit of an overachiever…

A Writer’s Option Overload
Last week I talked about the happy and sad of finishing a series. Now I’m gearing up to writing something new. The problem? Well…my brain has decided to give me way too many options.
I already mentioned that I have been working on a possible new series, but I have a couple other ideas that keep bouncing around in my head and then there is always the possibility of another spin-off series that I also have had percolating in my thoughts too.
And when you have too many options, sometimes that stops you in your tracks. So I’m writing down my ideas and trying to see which one is calling to me. The thing with ideas is they seem great when you’re brainstorming, but they don’t always translate to an actual story.
So I’m thinking that I might need to write a little bit on each one – chapter 1 so to speak – and see which I want to keep writing after that. At least that’s my plan right now. I’ll let you know how that works out!

The Happy and Sad of Writing ‘The End’
I just finished reading through my last book in preparation for sending my two manuscripts to my proof editor. And if you didn’t know this, as a writer there is something bittersweet about ending a book and a series.
On the one hand, you are so exuberant about typing ‘the end’ and sharing the series and in this situation, the family I have been writing about with my readers.
On the other hand, there is also a definite sadness. Because I won’t get to spend more time with these characters anymore. Heck, I thought I was done with this series after book three, and then I wrote two more! So now, I’m sad to say goodbye to the voices I have had in my head for a while now.
But I have to also tell myself that new ideas and characters will inspire me and I’ll hear their voices in my head as well.
So I’ll get to share new stories with you.

How Can You Say No to This Face?
My girl cat has decided she likes to sit on my lap in the evenings and she is very vocal about it. Not only does she want to sit on my lap, but she wants me to place a PILLOW in my lap for her to lay on. Spoiled – yes. But come on…look at the pic…hence the title of this post.
I think what is especially important is that her eyes share her emotions with you. Eyes really communicate in ways that even words can’t express.
In my demon series, I have a bit of a fascination with eyes – particularly of my heroes. Each tell a story with their color and their expressions.
The first three books are about brothers, but they have very different eyes and personalities which was good for me as a writer since I wanted them to be unique and carry their own story and boy did they do that. Books four and five which will be coming out this year have fascinating heroes as well. I can’t wait to talk more about all these characters, especially when I reveal their new covers for all five books that will be coming soon!

Edits Take Two
It’s that time again. Second edits for my two demon books have hit my email. So now I have to dive into those redline edits and clean up my books. There is something so satisfying about reading through the manuscript for another time and finishing the line changes. Tweaking it and making sure it is good to go – or as good to go as it can be before I send it for final proof.
And it does amaze me that each time I read my stories, I find things to change for the better. Some might get annoyed at editing and editing again, but I look at it a different way. When I wrote the story and rewrote the story and added scenes and edited and edited again, I was in a different frame of mind each time. That means I notice different aspects of the story. Maybe this time it is all about character and the next it’s about plot. Ultimately that helps strengthen the story.
So it’s time to finish this blog and get to editing!

When You Least Expect It
Last week I waxed poetic on my blog about the wonder of spring and how the snow was behind us. Apparently Mother Nature read my blog and thought she would play an April’s Fool joke on me. When I woke up on April 1st I was greeted with snow on the ground and blowing snow throughout the day. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck.
Which just means you never know what can happen. And the same goes with writing. I started a new series and had to put it aside as I work on edits for my two demon books. Yesterday I was thinking about the story and a totally new way to set up the story came to me. And it’s better than the way I have it written now. So when I go back to writing it again. I’m going to be changing it up some.
That’s okay. It’s good to keep my guessing. It makes life and writing more interesting.

Hints of Spring
I’m sure I’m not the only person to announce how so very happy I am that spring is finally here. It lightens my spirits that the snow and cold is behind us. I’ve been walking every day and enjoying signs of spring. First, the birds are back in town and they are making themselves heard!
But the official sign of spring for me are the flowers – specifically daffodils. They remind me of renewal and life. They make me joyful and they were my mother’s favorite flowers. So when I see them for the first time each year, I’m reminded of her. So they mean love to me.
Maybe that’s a lot to put on a delicate flower’s shoulders, but I think it’s up for the challenge.
And with spring comes new writing challenges for me. A possible new series to head me in a new direction. I’ll let you know how things are going with that as I dive deeper into the story.
We could all use renewal and life right now in our day to day world. So take a moment and find your own hints of spring and enjoy them.
