Why I Write
It’s hard to believe that a week has already passed since I released Sentinel Lost on September 21st. It has been CRAZY. I have been a tweeting, posting, and blogging fool over the past week. And of course, Mind Sweeper celebrated its one year anniversary as well which prompted me to reduce its price to 99 cents. So not only was I busy marketing Sentinel Lost, I was also chattering about Mind Sweeper as well.
Am I a little worn out? Yes.
Was it worth it? Definitely.
After all the hoopla, I thought I would share with you one of my favorite moments of the week. On September 20th, the morning before Sentinel Lost was to go live, I received a Facebook post from a reader who excitedly told me that my book had just downloaded to her e reader. I stared at the message in confusion and a little bit of worry. How had she gotten the book already? Had I accidentally put the wrong release date on the retail sites? Had the book been released by accident?
A few moments later, as if she anticipated my confusion, another post arrived from her. She told me that it was September 21st, 12:28 AM in Adelaide, Australia where she lived. And my brain finally caught up with the obvious. Time zones… I should have known better, really. The next country after the US where I sell the most books is Australia. Yay, Australia!
But it was the next part of her message that really hit me. Even though it was 12:28 AM, there was no way she was missing reading this book, as she put it, “straight away.”
And I stared at that message for a moment and then I laughed with delight and just as quickly the tears came. Happy, happy tears. I had someone half way around the world staying up to read my book in the middle of the night.
What a high. I don’t know when the last time was that I laughed and cried at the same time. And it clicked for me. THAT is why I write. THAT is why the hard work is so worth it to me. THAT is what I need to hang onto when I am tired, or stuck on a book, or frustrated with the business of writing. When I first started writing, I wanted to tell stories and SHARE them with people. And it appears that I am doing just that.

I HEART Australia!

Mind Sweeper is Nook First eBook!
Today, Mind Sweeper is being showcased on Barnes and Noble as a Nook First eBook.
So what is Nook First? In Barnes and Noble’s words Nook First is ‘Compelling reads from emerging authors’. How cool is that? A compliment for both my book and me :)
Come see how pretty Mind Sweeper looks on the Nook First page by clicking HERE!
And since Mind Sweeper is 99cents right now, that hopefully will give new readers an incentive to try my series out…compelling, emerging AND inexpensive. A trifecta of positives!

Sentinel Lost Release Day!
Yahoo and hot diggity, it’s Sentinel Lost’s Book Birthday! Book 5 in my Mind Sweeper Series has been pushed out of the nest and sent into the hands of readers. Wow. It has been an amazing year, hasn’t it?
So what’s happening on release day?
I am on GET LOST IN A STORY being interviewed by a dear friend and wonderful writer, Nan Dixon. If you leave a comment on the blog, you will be entered for a free ebook copy of Sentinel Lost! Come over and visit by clicking HERE.
There is also a ‘book blitz’ happening today. You may see my cover, blurb, and teasers showing up around the internet on various blog sites. They have graciously agreed to spread the work for me to help celebrate my release!
There will be some more happenings throughout the week that I will be letting you know about as well. You can also check out my Events Page for more details too! I will be doing an interview on Romance Junkies and a fun blog post (if I do say so myself) on Heroes & Heartbreakers!
And as part of the release party, Mind Sweeper is still 99 cents for a limited time.
My newsletter is also coming out today and, of course, I have my new tiara picture with Sentinel Lost to share with you all. For those of you who are just joining the party, let me explain my tiara pose. When Mind Sweeper released last year, I celebrated the occasion by going to my local dollar store and buying a tiara since I was now officially a ‘kick-butt, writer princess’. Since then, I have continued the tradition of taking a tiara picture on release day.
I want to thank you all for your amazing support! It’s hard to believe that a year ago Mind Sweeper went out into the world. Now look where we are, my friends!
Thanks for everything!
