Cover Reveal: Evolution
Author, Kate Wrath:

Outpost Three is still standing… barely. But the deadliest threat it has ever faced is on its way– a violent force that will annihilate every man, woman, and child.
With the Sentries under his control and Grey’s army defeated, Matt is more powerful than ever. Eden is little more than his prisoner, but that line is blurring as her affection for him grows. Now, as the Outpost faces total destruction, Matt must sacrifice the possibility of attaining Eden’s love in the vague hope that her past might hold the key to saving them all.
Eden’s journey will begin to unravel the mysteries of her previous life, reveal dangerous new questions, and change not only the future of Outpost Three, but shape the course of history.
This eagerly anticipated sequel to Kate Wrath’s E begins an epic quest into the dark, dystopian landscape of Eden’s world.

Um… like… OOPS?
Author, Kate Wrath:
Hey all you fabulous blog subscribers! You wouldn’t believe the major OOPS I managed to create this afternoon. As I was getting ready for the big *drumroll* Cover Reveal of Evolution, I created a test post of all the HTML that will go out to a good number of bloggers tonight for the official Cover Reveal on Wednesday. (I’m sure you already know where this is going.) OK. *Something* went wrong. Too little coffee. Too much screen time. Not enough technical prowess. Whatever you want to call it. *Somehow* I managed to make a test post that was supposed to be a private, detached webpage go out to all my social media, and email to all my blog subscribers. So… can we just pretend like you didn’t see it yet?
Thanks! Hopefully you are all looking forward to the Very Official Cover Reveal on Wednesday. I know I am!

And discovering the truth about himself is the human race’s only hope.
Revenge. That’s all that’s left for witch hunter Rhett Carter. The magic-born have stripped everything from him – killed his friends, cursed his warlock father, shattered his future – leaving him bare and broken, but not dead. Their mistake. When Rhett and Laney are suddenly thrust in different directions, Rhett must decide who to trust and who to kill. Backed by his trusty canine sidekick Hex, Rhett will embark on his deadliest mission yet, one that will lead him directly toward those who want him dead, pushing his unique resistance to magic to the edge and back again as he tries to remove his father’s curse.
Separated from Rhett, Laney seeks to understand the strange changes to her sister, Trish, who’s believed to be the last living Clairvoyant, and what role she’s destined to play in the future of humankind.
Wrapped around everything are four major groups: the Necromancers, the Changelings, the witch hunters, and New America, the remnants of humanity. When the major forces are brought together for an epic battle, the fate of the world hangs in the balance.

A great review to mention:
Check out this new review from Kim over at Arkham Reviews. I don’t think Kim missed a thing.
And for your viewing entertainment… rats.
Rats have become a bit of a “thing” in my family ever since I wrote E. So… I had a late night at work last week. My husband took care of dinner, fed the girls, and when I got home, they’d even saved me some. Here’s what awaited me:
:
I named him “George”.
OK, I think that’s enough for one post! I hope this finds you all well!

E Gets 5 Stars From Authors to Watch
Author, Kate Wrath:
I just wanted to share my latest review. Author Tricia Drammeh read and reviewed E for her blog, Authors to Watch, and gave it five stars.
Only a very talented author could create beauty from such desolation, and that’s what Kate Wrath has done.

Two Lovely Reviews to Share
Author, Kate Wrath:
This week brought along two lovely editorial reviews, and I wanted to share them with you.
The first one was posted on Under the Oak Book Reviews by the fabulous Eila Oakes.
The second one was written by Emily over at rooftopreading. Emily is an honorary Rock the Book chick who reviews some Indie books for us over at Rock the Book. I was surprised (and delighted) to see she’d picked up my book to review on her blog!
Lots of thanks going out to both these ladies for taking the time to read E and write these awesome reviews!

Upcoming Promo on E, Rambles About Book 2
Author, Kate Wrath:
I mentioned not long ago that E would be going on promo sometime soon. I thought this would be during the month of September, but it turns out that the advertising that I want to do in conjunction with the promo could not be scheduled until October. So… on October 3rd E will be going on sale on Kindle for 99 cents. It’s a great time to tell your friends about it.
I’m sure these updates are getting a little boring, but I’m stilllllllllll editing. This is probably the most tedious part of writing a book, but it is so important. I want the next book to be as good as it can be when it hits the shelves. There are always lots of loose bits that need to be tightened up, and things that amuse me, the writer, but apparently amuse no one else…. Those have to be dealt with. I also tend to understate things at times, and my editor always catches me on those and demands I rewrite them properly. :p I’ve just gotten back a rewrite of the first section of the book with a note that says “BETTER”. I had to ask what “BETTER” meant, specifically, and apparently it translates to a pass… however I still feel I would like to make some changes, so I think I’m going to have another look at it. First I’m going to finish my rewrite of the next section so that my editor can get on with that. We’re coming up on deadline quickly, and I am determined to release in November at the latest.
Some things to look forward to in the second book:
The world outside of Outpost Three.
More of the characters you love, and some new ones.
Answers. I know you want them. (They come with a side of some more questions.)

The Home Stretch
Author, Kate Wrath:
Progress:
Editing is moving along swiftly, and I’m feeling pretty good about the changes I’m making. Meanwhile, I realized I have about fifty million more things to do to get ready for launch! I thought I had finally settled on my title, but turns out I was wrong. I am toying with a few ideas and hopefully will make a commitment soon. That will be really helpful as I start working on the book cover! My darling editor has come up with a great idea for the cover art, so it is really just seeing if we can pull it off. We’ll find out soon.
As soon as all that’s in order, I plan to put book 2 on Amazon on pre-order, and, of course, I will tell you all my official release date. I’m starting to get really excited about seeing it all coming together.
Meanwhile… I am planning to run a special promo on E later this month, so yes, it will be going on sale. If you have friends who are wanting to read it but haven’t gotten it yet, you can let them know to look out for a 99 cent sale coming up soon.
A couple of new reviews are also up:
Check out Justine’s review on YA Lit Chick.
Jane Dougherty reviewed my book! Jane is seriously one of my favorite authors ever, and I feel lucky to call her a friend as well. But yeah, Jane reviewing my book is like… I can’t even think of anything to compare it to. I’m totally honored.
And SandyReadsALot reviewed my book on Youtube as part of an Indie Book Haul coordinated by Mark Shaw of #IndieBooksBeSeen. Thanks a ton to both Mark and Sandy!
Hope you are all having a fantastic Labor Day weekend. I am celebrating Labor Day by laboring away on my book! :p
