You Create Your Own Possibility.

Possibility isn’t a fact. It’s someone’s opinion.

Whether you can accomplish big dreams or not isn’t a guarantee. Either way.

Just because it hasn’t been done before doesn’t mean that you won’t be the first to do it.

And just because someone else did it in the past doesn’t mean that you’ll be able to reproduce their success.

Times change. People change. Your will to win ebbs and flows — along with the balance in your bank account.

There are no sure things in life.

It’s all guaranteed to change.

Possibility is what you will it to be.

If things are broken, fix them. If things aren’t broken, you can still break them and make something different.

Why? Simply because you choose to. It’s that simple.

Everything is an option. Nothing is off the table.

There are no “cant’s” only “won’ts”.

So change your attitude. Stop believing other people’s negative opinions about what is right for you.

Just wake up and go to work.

Be maniacal about getting to where you want to be.

Invest in your success instead of gambling on get rich quick schemes.

Play the long game. Choose the hard path — even when it seems like the easy way is a sure thing.

Act like what you do matters.

Soak up advice. Hire the best mentors.

Read. Learn. Never stop grinding. Make your life great deliberately.

Stop hoping you get there and start making the choices that will lead you to your goal.

Create your own possibility.

Being Curiously Great.

Obsess over the details.

Don’t be afraid to look like a fool while you get down on your hands and knees and dig through the mud for the solution to your problem.

The truth about greatness is that it requires an unusual focus on steadfast improvement.

You have to care about the things that other people don’t care about.

The details. The edge cases. The problems that others just excuse away as it being “good enough”.

Those tiny changes end up yielding the greatest results.

Often it is the seemingly insignificant upgrade that delivers the highest return on investment.

It could be as simple as another smile in your retail establishment. Maybe it’s just an  hour earlier out of bed each day working on your craft when you used to be sleeping.

Mentors, coaches, mastermind groups, books, seminars, online training — everything you could ever need to improve is closer than ever.

Access to answers isn’t your problem.

Your problem is that you’re satisfied with what you’ve already done.

You’ve been lulled to sleep with mediocre success. You’ve forgotten that somebody who wants it more than you is working harder at mastering the details right now than you are.

Be consumed with curiosity.

Let that drive you and lead you and will you towards audacious results.

Getting Your Head on Straight.

What you see is what you get.

How you view life determines how successful you’ll become.

The truth about productivity and success is that your attitude determines your results.

Before you even get started. Before you begin. Before you do the first thing. Before all of that, the outcome has already been decided.

Your results are determined by your attitude.

If you think that you are destined to fail — because that’s what you’ve done all the other times — then it’s rare that you will never win.

If you think that life is what you make it — and that you’re willing to do whatever it takes to get to where you want to be — you’ll eventually find your way there.

Attitude determines the result.

It doesn’t make the hard work any easier.

It doesn’t make the consequences of poor decisions any less bruising.

But it does do something uniquely special that neither effort or discipline can match.

A positive attitude will give you the will to figure things out until your expertise and results match your aspiration.

That’s the essence of winning after all — having the stamina to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes.

That starts with what’s in your head.

What you think about. How you view failure and setbacks.

You might not need a new business plan after all.

You probably just need to get your head on straight.

Fix your attitude.

You’re Not Doing Anything Wrong.

The bigger your goals, the tougher it will be to achieve them.

And while you already know that in your head, you’re going to forget that along the way.

When things get tough — and you’re not sure you can make it any further — you start interpreting the obstacles in your way as warning signs that what you’re doing isn’t working.

That what you want to achieve isn’t worth it.

You forget that tough goals take tough people. You forget that big dreams demand big heart.

Anything worth doing is worth doing even when it’s tough to do it.

Average living doesn’t require struggle. Ordinary ideas don’t demand sacrifice.

If you’re in pain and scared you’re not going to be able to make it this time, that’s a sign that you’re engaged in an all-star quest for awesomeness.

You’re not weaker than you should be.

You’re not making more mistakes then you should be.

There isn’t anything you’re missing that everyone else has.

You’re trying to change the world. And that’s no easy mission. It costs you everything.

Struggle on. Keep going. Make each moment you get matter.

The Rest Of The Days.

Some days all the pieces just fall into place.

Making deals seems easy. Your conversations are inspired. The pieces of the puzzle fit into place without much of a fight.

Those are the days you want every day. Where you are seeing the rainbows and enjoying the sunset.

But those days don’t come easily.

They are the result of the rest of your days — where nothing seems easy, inspired, or the least bit enjoyable.

The days where you’re not really sure it’s worth it. The days where you’re working hard and not seeing any results. The days where smart people tell you what you’re doing isn’t going to be successful.

Those are the days you have to endure to get to the moments when everything feels right.

When things fall into place.

That’s important to remember when you can’t see rainbows and aren’t sure the sun will come up again.

Your moment of triumph will come as long as you’re willing to keep working.

Disregard the critics. Ignore the doubters. Shrug off the cynics and skeptics.

Grit your teeth and clench your fists and drag yourself forward.

Today is a day to work.

Distracted From Being Awesome.

What motivates you to do what you do?

That’s a hard question to answer.

The truth is that it’s not one thing. It’s not even one thing for all of one day.

Your environment drives your motivation. Your body, the people you are with, and what’s going on around you all impact your motivation.

They distract you from the things that you really want to be doing.

Some of that distraction is from bad choices you’ve made in the past.

You’ve put yourself in a situation where it’s extra difficult to stay focused on your future.

Now you’re left scrambling to figure out how to survive the mess you’ve put yourself in.

It’s not just bad choices that distract you from being awesome.

Sometimes the biggest distraction is your lack of direction.

You don’t know where you want to go and not really sure what you’re willing to do to figure it out.

So you spin in circles, staying busy, and expending energy without doing things that actually matter.

You won’t be motivated living your life like that.

You’ll find yourself becoming the person who’s moody, depressed, and always griping about other people not understanding what you’re going through.

You’re completely distracted from being awesome.

Staying motivated starts with you being aware of all the choices you have, the emotions you feel, the pressures you are under — and making the choice to stay on course moment-by-moment as your environment changes.

You don’t ignore problems. You just move around them.

You aren’t clueless about negative people and bad things. You just avoid him.

Motivation is a choice.

Inspiration is a reward. You have to work for it and fight to keep it.

Which is why being aware of your motivation matters so much.

You have the same amount of time and talents as everyone else.

It’s how you use it that matters.

That’s Not Being Helpful.

The best help is the kind that stops a problem from happening in the first place.

You’re not really helpful when already frustrated customers have to fight to get your attention, time, and expertise.

Ask yourself what you can do now to help those soon-to-be-frustrated customers with a better warning of the problems ahead, easier ways to prepare themselves, and educated alternatives to the solutions you’re recommending.

That’s the secret to being helpful.

You providing value before you start charging for it. Saving lives before heroism is demanded.

Think about your customer service process, your sales prospecting pipeline, and your business development workflow. They are all designed to make your job easier or to help you get more of what you want more efficiently.

The problem is that it’s not efficient or easy to be helpful before people think they need the help.

It seems like a waste of time.

Except it isn’t. It’s exactly the kind of help you’d want for yourself and those you care about.

Which is the ultimate point about being helpful.

You won’t ever be helpful if you don’t care about people.

Start there.

Take The Next Step.

You can only go as far as you’re willing to take the next step.

That’s the secret to breakthrough. Moving forward just a little bit more.

Every day. In every way. Just another step.

But that step is important.

It stands for progress and your potential to achieve the goals you have set out for yourself.

No audacious challenge is accomplished quickly, easily, or without setbacks.

The biggest challenge of all is figuring out where to get started.

What to do. Where to go.

What you actually want.

Unless you’re deliberate about forward progress you’ll find yourself spinning in circles. Doing enough to appear like you’re living a meaningful existence, but doing absolutely nothing that truly matters.

It’s deceiving to you and everyone else that watches you work.

You think you’re being awesome because you’re busy. You think you’re changing the world because you’re moving. You’re just not moving towards where you need to be.

What you’re doing doesn’t matter.

You’re working hard to avoid what really needs to be done.

Which is a shame because if you’re going to be tired and frustrated, confused, annoyed, and thoroughly beaten down at the end of the day it might as well be because you’re doing something that matters.

Taking the next step isn’t as simple as it sounds. You might not know the exact next step to take.

Do the thing that scares you most.

Because that’s the thing that will likely impact your chances of success greater than anything else.

You’ll stay stuck as long as you’re not moving in the right direction.

It’s a choice. A simple decision actually. One that you could make today. Right now.

Ask yourself: “Are you more committed to your excuses or your success?”

Topping Up What’s Top.

What have you done today to ensure you stay motivated?

How about this week? This month?

Probably not much. Maybe, not anything at all.

To be successful, you have to find time to do the things that inspire you.

You can’t make creativity and motivation the last thing on your list of things to do.

Make time for it.

Even if it means you need to get up earlier each day to find that time.

There’s no good time to read a book. There’s no good time to journal your thoughts. There’s no good time to go to the gym.

There’s always something you could be doing that seems more productive. A better use of your time.

Just don’t forget to invest in your long-term success.

Anyone can go through the motions.

Anyone can work hard each day.

Real champions don’t just work hard physically. They work hard emotionally.

That demands you stay on top of your motivation.

Inspired work comes from inspired people.

If you want more for yourself and better results from the work that you do, spend time seeking inspiration desperately.

None Of It Is An Accident.

Staying motivated despite negative circumstances isn’t an accident.

Staying content without more materialistic things in life isn’t an accident.

Staying disciplined with how you live your life isn’t an accident.

Staying creative under everyday stress isn’t an accident.

Staying healthy and well in spite of faster choices isn’t an accident.

Staying inspired even when no one else believes in you isn’t an accident.

Staying focused on the most important things that matter isn’t an accident.

Staying happy even when unhappy things happen around you isn’t an accident.

Staying generous when you’re not sure there’s enough for you isn’t an accident.

Staying energetic and rested when life fatigues your soul isn’t an accident.

None of it is an accident.

Not one bit. Not one part. Not one moment. Not one day.

None of it is an accident.

Your attitude is exactly what you allow it to be.

If you aren’t happy, it’s your fault. If you aren’t inspired, it’s your fault.

If you aren’t creative, healthy, generous, energetic or disciplined, it’s your fault.

The good news is that you can fix it right now. This moment.

It’s your choice.
