Schitt’s Creek Stevie Halloween Costume

In about three seconds this morning, I came up with a Schitt’s Creek Stevie Halloween Costume because I wanted to win the costume contest at work.

It’s pretty easy to win when you’re the only employee.

But still.

Here’s where you can grab your own Rosebud Motel ringer tee.

Arm Chair Reupholster for the Art Studio

A custom arm chair reupholster project was definitely not on the list of work tasks in the studio this morning… but you never know when inspiration’s gonna hit!

So let’s talk about cats. You gotta love em, right? We have two rad rescue cats in our home and I would have a million more. I just love their attitudes, their snuggles that quick-turn into snaggles, and watching them watch birds outside.

But man, being anti-declawing has some downsides… like when your mom in law gives you a super...

Immersive Art Scene: A Case Study

When you get to your mid forties, you’re still young enough to say buzz words like “immersive art”, but you also get to start using big important sounding words like “case study”. It basically means here’s a project I worked on recently, and the steps it took to get to the final product. But you don’t get to use the word case study until you’re at least over 40 years old, okay?

Promise?

Good. I’m gonna be checking on you to make sure you’re holding up your end of this deal, and if I find...

Painting Strawberry Rocks for the Garden

Joy and I spent a couple of hours last weekend painting strawberry rocks for the garden!

Let me back up just a bit.

Every year you garden, it’s another chance to try new techniques.

Maybe our produce was decimated last summer. Maybe a dingus named Steph never got around to putting a simple gate on the deer fence. And maybe this year will be better (if said dingus will also remember along with the new door to the garden area… to secure the bottom around that fence so rabbits aren’t just hop...

I Can’t Unsee This In My Garden.

Every year I set aside budget to add more perennials and bulbs to our garden beds; they come back every year, and I’m envisioning this just full lush flower garden everywhere around our home.

But I may need to rethink one flower…

I cut some purple irises for our table this week:

And this morning as I was making my to do list for the day and chatting with Phil… I saw something in my flowers that I just couldn’t unsee.

You gotta be kidding me.

I straight up planted Jar Jar...

Map Illustration – Welcome to Henry County

Last winter, I was commissioned by Visit Henry County to create a map illustration of our county for the inside back cover of the 2023 Visitor’s Guide. It was such a cool project! Working with my contact at the Visitor’s Center, we needed to pull together a list of locations we wanted to highlight on the map. Places that are fun for people just visiting, but fresh and exciting for the folks who live here, too!
