Neap Tide: Poetry – Thy Eternal Light of Happiness

nature-beauty

Let me sail away,

To the sandy shore

To the place where there is bliss!

Let me fly away,

To the sky

To the place where there is endless peace!

Let me run away,

To tranquility

To the place where there is love!

Let me walk away,

To eternity

To the place where there is beauty!

All with the Divine Lord,

Away from troubles and sorrows,

With my mind and soul,

Shedding thy eternal light of happiness!

Neap Tide: Poetry – The Silver Star

20110719040359!SilverStarSME

I saw a silver star high up in the sky,

It looked very bright shining with glow!

I guessed that I had my company for the day

I talked to it, as I said “Hello”

It told me that it could see everything from above

It could see two lovebirds proposing their love.

It could see greenery over the hills

And an old grandmother swallowing some pills!

It could see the penguins in the snow

And two men involved in a row!

It could see the big moon and the blue sea

Also a little baby drinking tea!

Having said this, the silver star began to snore,

And I suddenly realized that the time was four.

I climbed my bed and immediatly slept,

Forgetting the silver star as dawn slowly crept…

Neap Tide: Poetry – I will never forget you!

Image

The enchanting smile on your lips,

And your tender touch

Freezing my heart

When you bid goodbye…

On your deathbed!

Embracing me closer and tighter

Never wanting to let me go!

I will never forget,

The undying spark of passion you possessed

Missing me with every breath

And the longing you had to see me

In the deepest corner of your heart!

I will never forget,

How sincere, trustworthy and lovable you were

And the unconditional love you had,

In your heart, with no bounds!

I will never forget,

The precious sensuous moments we shared together!

The greatest feeling we experienced when we saw each other!

Forgetting all pains and sorrows, we had in life.

After all,

I will never forget

That special you!

The flame of my love!

The angel of my mind!

The light and dream of my life!

The joy of my soul!

The rainbow of my heart!

My dearest wife!

My sweet rose!

I will now leave you like a friend!

Farewell my love!

I will never forget you!

Ebb Tide: Article – Why we must keep a sketchbook?

Image

Keeping a sketchbook is a fantastic way of keeping track of our creative ideas and drawings. Leonardo Da Vinci made a lot of sketchbooks with hundreds of pages during his life, filled with drawings. So, a sketchbook is like a diary for an artist and is a place where we can draw a lot of fanciful drawings in pages and have fun. Sketchbooks can also inspire our friends and relatives to take a pencil and start drawing. Sketchbooks come in different shapes and sizes, with attractive covers.

Any person who would want to improve his drawing skills would own a sketchbook. A sketchbook not only carries our ideas, thoughts and inspirations in the form of art, but it also encourages us to draw often.

In a sketchbook we can draw anything we want like landscape and people drawing, for example – although some artists prefer to have sketchbooks based on certain subjects. Imagine that an artist has finished drawing a sketchbook having human anatomy figures. We can classify the sketchbook in the class of human anatomy. Similarly, when the artist has completed drawing a sketchbook on cartoons, we can classify the sketchbook in the class of cartoons.

We need not use the sketchbook only for drawing purpose, but we can also write our own ideas based on what we are drawing. Suppose we are sketching a typical Indian village girl character, we can form our own thoughts on the character and write so. Here are some examples:

What type of village girl am I drawing?

Where does she live? An old hut?

What does she do during her daytime?

What is the girl’s name?

Where are her parents? What work do they do?

And so on…

There are many numerous websites and e-books where we can get some ideas on what to draw in our sketchbooks. We also need to collect pictures from a magazine that would inspire us to draw.

We need not worry about the techniques of drawing, at first. As sketchbooks are for personal use, we can draw and experiment whatever we like.

To conclude, drawing and maintaining our first sketchbook will be the starting point of a journey to embark on. As the time flies by, we would gain a good deal of inspiration from sketchbooks that will increase our performance, showing us the way to become a brilliant creative artist.

Ebb Tide: Article – The Benefits of Reading Books

Image

Reading skills are necessary in today’s world. They benefit us both mentally and morally making us forget our own problems in life. Reading gives us an understanding of the various things in life and the world. Reading also helps us gain knowledge and stimulate our thinking abilities.

Here are a few benefits of reading books–

Reading  makes us grasp writing styles of others

Everybody has his or her own writing style. Writing style is a manner in which an author chooses to write to his/ her audience. A style discloses both the writer’s personality and voice, but it also shows how she or he views the audience. Reading helps us write better adopting our own writing style and to follow a special writing skill of an author.

Reading books can help us grow

We can learn new terms and words, expand our vocabulary, and improve our grammar skills through reading. Reading also keeps us up to date with language and modern vocabulary or slang of a particular city/ country.

Reading  stirs imagination/ swirls creativity in children

We need to introduce children to books early on. In addition, reading aloud to kids has many benefit. It cultivates a long-term love of reading and studying for the child. We need to select the right books for them to read. Books like ‘Aesop’s fables’ or ‘Grimm’s fairy tales’ would stimulate them. ‘The Ramayan’ and ‘The Mahabharath’ will make children to develop their ethical values. Also, reading books can help children spark their imagination introducing them to wide range of ideas, concepts and experiences.

A book can be our companion when we travel

When we travel to far places, we can always carry a book with us. We can read books amidst nature trails enjoying and relishing every word we read. We can read books in a huge library laden with books or a green park that is nearby or a coffee shop, drinking a cup of coffee. There is a quote by Dr. Seuss, a celebrated author that comes to my mind right now.

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”, he says.

In conclusion, reading is important as it develops our critical language skills, provides us with entertainment, as well as opening our world. We should also know that there are many wonderful books out there for us to read and enjoy. Thus, we need to read often, choosing good books to read and once we get the taste of reading we would never stop.
