There’s Hope (And Here’s Proof!)

thereshopeI saw this stapled to a power pole during the Woodward Dream Cruise last year, and absolutely had to stop to take a picture. It was random, it was anonymous, but it was just one of those things I knew I’d regret if I walked on by without documenting that it existed, at least for a day.

Happy Monday and Happy Writing all!!!!

A Book Review!!!! *happy dance*

So Twintype Books isn’t a book review blog…we barely keep our heads above water as it is, writing our OWN books, but every once in a while there comes a book that we really do want to share with you. Please find below, word-for-word, Kate’s Goodreads review of Lex Talionis by R.S.A. Garcia!!!!!

My Writing Process Blog Hop – Britt!

So…I’m pretty excited about this Writing Process Blog Hop! It’s so fascinating to see all the different approaches that authors take when writing and researching their work. Without further ado, let’s begin!

What Am I Working On?

I don’t know about you guys, but I am SO excited for Vivian’s novella that Kate is working on! Vivian’s character just amazes me. She’s got so many levels, and she always surprises me, even though I feel like I know her almost as well as my own character (I write Parke...

My Writing Process Blog Hop – Kate!

Somehow the stars aligned and yesterday, at almost the same time, our blog friends R.S.A. Garcia and Rachel Carrera both tagged us for the Writing Process Blog Hop! “Hey, that’s actually perfect!” we thought. “There are two of us and we DO have two very distinct writing processes, so let’s each do one!” Sooooo…here’s Kate’s!

What Am I Working On?

I’m in the writing phase of the first official follow-up to Pistils which (you’re reading it here for the first time) will be a novella about Vivian,...

Meeting Your Paperback Baby: A Tale of True Love

Happy Monday, guys! I’m hoping everyone has survived their food comas and Easter candy induced sugar highs! Now that it’s back to business, I’d like to discuss a certain substantial milestone in any author’s life that’s one for the books (heh, see what I did there?). That’s right, physically holding your novel in your hands for the very first time.

Here is a picture of me having my first touchy-feely moment with our novel. Of course I had to send a pic to my twin Kate! And yes, that's me, still wearing my jacket because ain't nobody got time to take it off when your book is waiting for you!

What Makes a Good Review? Let’s Bungle in the Jungle!

The Lovely Lisa of Silently Correcting Your Grammar had a very timely and to-the-point post the other day called Bully Pulpit, in which she reminded us that reader/reviewers need to act like sane adults and behave themselves, just as authors are expected to.

I personally read A LOT…by my count, probably over a hundred books over the past year (I read extremely fast, and usually have two or three going at any given time) and I try to rate, if not review, each one. Right now, my review rate is a...

Kate Discusses the F-Word (No, the Other One)

I’ve had this discussion bouncing around inside my head for a while, and I’ve finally decided to try to get it down in written form, touchy nature though it may be. I will confess that I’m afraid you’ll all scream and run-click away as fast as your mouse can take you, though! Hmm, perhaps a few disclaimers are in order?

-It’s not about the F-Word that rhymes with ‘duck’

-It does not involve beating a dead horse (as far as I know)

-Once you realize which F-Word I’m talking around, give me at leas...

The Liebster Blog Award…Kate and Britt Style! (aka You’re in Trouble)

We found out last night that the lovely and talented Olivia of Often Clueless, Always Shoeless had nominated us for The Liebster Blog Award! Thank you Olivia!

The basics are as follows: it originated in Germany and was intended to recognize blogs with (insert number here, it’s changed over the years) or fewer followers. You get to share random facts about yourself, you answer questions about yourself, then you nominate the next bloggers. You probably meet some new friends too!

Obviously, the or...

You Interviewed WHO?!?

Note: From time to time (okay, a lot of the time), Britt and Kate do something fun and semi-crazy when they’ve been working too hard and need a laugh. This is one of those times, but it’s actually pretty informative about our characters whether you’ve read Pistils yet or not. We hope you enjoy…

An Interview with Parker Chase and Vivian Carmichael, protagonists of Pistils

Describe your best friend.

Parker
: Hmm, starting off with the tough questions, I see. Well, Vivian is…beautiful. Inside and ou...
