This. This might be my favorite image of me. After driving through shady New Mexico for 8+ hours, almost dying, failing to find a camping spot, sleeping in a Wal-mart parking lot, and finally setting up camp in a beautiful spot the next morning, my dad handed me a BB gun and an empty coke can. I was tired, dressed in mismatched PJs, head scarf, and my dad’s hoodie. I must have been trying to shoot that stupid can for half an hour before I heard a sharp ping and the can flew off the log and all my pent-up frustration from like my whole life exploded into joy because I HIT THE CAN. And apparently my dad got a picture at just the right moment. That, my friends, is the face of happiness. Best vacation ever.
