There’s a New Segment on my Substack!
Having posted two of my stories online via “Do You Know Where YOUR Story Is?” I decided to set up a way to show where some of my stories have been. |Time for a Story| posts will appear on the substack periodically. If the story is a standalone, it will appear in its entirety. Installments of stories will appear on Tuesday and Saturday evenings every week until the story is finished. I may post previously published stories, or brand new material. We’ll just have to see what turns up.

Dedication, Determination, and Discipline
… one means to an end. (a variation of this post appears on my substack: “Do You Know Where YOUR Story Is?”)
Someone in a group commented on what they perceived as my persistence or dedication in writing. I generally have 3 to 4 manuscripts underway, sitting on various burners in my creative fire. The person’s comment got me to thinking about how I reached this point.
To be fair, I’ve spent a large part of my life not working outside the home. That time was mostly spent raising our childr...

Comments on consistency
[excerpted from my current post on “Do You Know Where YOUR Story Is?]
I don’t care if all the inhabitants of a planet are legless, have a single blue eye, gills, and live in a tank where they are dependent on water, melons, and cress to live. Just don’t suddenly have their out-of-town cousin travel in on the next train walking on three legs, smoking a cigar, and using four eyes to watch me out of the back of their head. It doesn’t fit the world you built.Writing romance? I know, love a...May 11, 2024

CrossPosting
I’ve posted a new column to my Substack, “Do You Know Where YOUR Story Is?” and I think followers here might be interested in it as well. It’s about writing in times of trouble, something we might all face or even be facing right now.

I also intend to be back here with more on my novel, new posts about where I am on the current project, as well as new projects and how I manage to be part of and benefit...

A Plethora of INKAS
Note: For those who are serious about being published–whether by yourself or a traditional publisher–there’s a helpful and practical site out there that specializes in articles about material pertinent to the process. Started by professional book marketer Dave Chesson, Kindlepreneur (https://kindlepreneur.com) provides technical information on publishing in basic terms that writers new to the process can understand. Today’s post draws some of its specific information from one of his own articl...

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Well, here I was, planning on finding another INKA to share, when something better to write about came along.
As noted in my previous post, t’is the Christmas season and time for gift-giving…(consider shameless plug to view my books on Amazon inserted here). It is also the time of year when results from certain book competitions are in. No, I didn’t win. But what I did receive was an interesting review of my book, Christmas House, by the judge who looked at it. Some of the comments wer...

A Holiday Message to My Readers

I know I’ve added some readers this year–and I never really said ‘Hello!’ So, Hello, and Happy Holidays.
Welcome to my crazy world where I share things I’ve learned about writing as well as navigate my way through the noveling process. I hope that what I share is helpful and interesting to you, as much as it is to me.
It’s also that time of year when we are all looking for something to share with others. A few years back I wrote a book called Christmas House. It was originally a novel...
